Abstract

The importance of multiple mathematical representations for students in learning is that one of them can help students learn and build a concept to overcome a problem in solving story problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the profile of multi-representation abilities in solving story problems for students with auditory learning styles. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The subjects in this study were four students with auditory learning styles from class XI IPA 1 SMA Negeri 1 Bangsri. Data collection methods used are learning style questionnaire tests, mathematical representation tests, and interviews. The results of this study indicate that students with auditory learning styles based on mathematical representation abilities are able to solve all the questions given. In solving story problems, the subject always writes down what is known and asked first, then answers the problem. Subjects use visual representations in the form of illustrations and tables to make it easier to answer. Next, the subject writes down what is known and asked using verbal and symbolic representations according to what is written on the problem. Auditory subjects solve these problems by involving symbolic representations (mathematical expressions) by substituting them into mathematical formulas. To explain the important part of the problem and write a conclusion at the end of the subject's answer, use a verbal representation in the form of words, sentences, or written text.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the representational abilities of class VIII junior high school students in solving word problems on opportunity material in terms of student learning styles. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. This research was conducted in class VIII B and VIII E of SMP Miftahul Ulum Boarding School Jogoloyo Demak which were selected based on the results of a questionnaire test. The subjects of this study were selected based on a learning style questionnaire of 60 grade VIII students, 6 students were selected consisting of 2 subjects with a visual learning style, 2 subjects with an auditory learning style, and 2 subjects with a kinesthetic learning style. . The instruments used in this study were a learning style questionnaire test to determine research subjects, math word problems to bring out students' representation abilities, and interview guidelines. The validity of the data uses technical triangulation, namely checking data that has been obtained from the same source using different techniques. The results of the research based on tests and interviews obtained 1) subjects with a visual learning style gave rise to visual representation indicators, and representations of mathematical equations or expressions. 2) subjects with learning styles bring up indicators of visual representation, and representation of equations or mathematical expressions. 3) subjects with kinesthetic learning styles only bring up visual representation indicators.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students creative thinking abilities and mathematical connections in the quadrilateral and triangle material in terms of students mathematical self-concept. This type of research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this study consisted of 29 students in class VIII E of SMP NEGERI 1 KALIWUNGU who were then selected based on the self-concept scale, namely 3 students with high self-concept, 3 students with moderate self-concept and 3 students with low self-concept. Data collection was carried out using a self-concept scale, written tests, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques were carried out in 3 stages, namely data reduction, data display and conclusion/verification. The validity of the data using technique triangulation and source triangulation. The analysis was developed based on indicators of creative thinking skills and mathematical connections by taking into account self-concept. Based on the results of the analysis it is known that subjects with high self-concept abilities are able to fulfill all indicators of creative thinking and all indicators of mathematical connection, subjects with moderate self-concept are able to fulfill three aspects of creative thinking ability, namely thinking fluently, thinking flexibly, thinking in detail and being able to fulfill all indicators of connection mathematically, subjects with low self-concept are unable to fulfill all indicators of creative thinking and all indicators of mathematical connection.

Abstract

Interactive learning media can be used as a learning tool to improve the numeracy literacy skills of junior high school students, one of which is educational games. Educational games are games that contain educational content and are used to make it easier for students to understand the material provided. Development research using the ADDIE model was used to develop numeracy literacy educational games for junior high school students on statistics material. The population of this study were students of class VIII SMP Kesatrian 1 Semarang. The sample of this research is class VIII A, VIII C, and VIII D. The research design is Posttest Only Control Design. The data collection used is the observation method, the test method, the documentation method. The results of this study indicate that math educational games to improve numeracy literacy skills in statistical material are valid and practical to use based on validation assessments by media experts, material experts, and student response questionnaires. Furthermore, the developed educational game is effectively used in learning mathematics to improve the numeracy literacy skills of junior high school students based on the right-tail side t test, the percentage of student activity, the teacher's ability to manage learning, and student completeness in learning. Android-based math educational games are said to be valid, practical, and effective for improving junior high school students' mathematical numeracy literacy skills in statistics material.

Abstract

This study uses the systematic literature review (SLR) method to identify knowledge trends in beliefs about the nature of mathematics, learning mathematics and identify new development opportunities for further research. The Scopus database was used, and 41 documents were found as the primary source for further analysis. The results show that mathematical beliefs have become a current research trend. The number of publications increased significantly starting in 1989, accompanied by many citations. Based on these primary documents, it is known that the development of mathematical beliefs research topics. The foundation of this topic begins with studying the topic of knowledge, activities, and learning mathematics. Then it is developed into other, more varied studies, including teacher’s beliefs transition; mathematical beliefs comparison; mathematics teacher’s belief, teaching, and learning; mathematical beliefs and problem-solving; inquiry-based learning (IBL); affective factors; technology utilization; common misconceptions; and development of mathematics teacher’s beliefs instrument. This research investigates the core of scientific work to provide information to researchers and institutions as material for consideration of research to be carried out.

Abstract

This research is motivated by low numeracy literacy skills which are a crucial problem in educational development, especially at SMA Negeri 2 Semarang. This research aims to find out whether the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model is effective in improving high school students' mathematical numeracy literacy skills. This research uses the classroom action research (PTK) method by applying the Kurt Lewin model which includes planning, implementation, observation and reflection stages. The subjects of this research were 36 class X.8 students. Data was collected through a numeracy literacy skills test at the pre-cycle, cycle I and cycle II stages. The results of the research show that the actions taken succeeded in achieving success indicators with more than 75% of students achieving completeness, namely 79.4% or 80%. The implications of this research show that the PBL model can have a positive impact on student learning outcomes in improving mathematical numeracy literacy skills in high school.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui profil berpikir kreatif siswa dalam pemecahan masalah matematika ditinjau dari kecerdasan visual spasial. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian dipilih berdasarkan tes kecerdasan visual spasial yaitu 2 siswa dengan kecerdasan visual spasial tingkat tinggi, 2 siswa dengan kecerdasan visual spasial tingkat sedang, dan 2 siswa dengan kecerdasan visual spasial tingkat rendah kelas IX SMP N 1 Jaken Kota Pati yang dipilih berdasarkan hasil tes kecerdasan visual spasial dan wawancara. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu tes kecerdasan visual spasial, tes pemecahan masalah untuk memunculkan berpikir kreatif, dan pedoman wawancara. Keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi sumber yaitu membandingkan hasil informasi yang diperoleh melalui sumber yang berbeda. Hasil tes dan wawancara 1) siswa dengan kecerdasan visual spasial tinggi menunjukkan semua indikator kemampuan berpikir kreatif yaitu pada aspek kefasihan (fluency), fleksibilitas (flexibility), kebaruan (novelty) dan memenuhi semua aspek pemecahan masalah yaitu memahami masalah, merencanakan pemecahan masalah, melaksanakan pemecahan masalah dan memeriksa kembali jawaban. 2) Siswa dengan kecerdasan visual spasial sedang menunjukkan semua indikator kemampuan berpikir kreatif yaitu pada aspek kefasihan (fluency), fleksibilitas (flexibility), kebaruan (novelty) dan hanya mampu memahami tiga aspek pemecahan masalah yaitu memahami masalah, merencanakan pemecahan masalah, dan melaksanakan pemecahan masalah. 3) siswa dengan kecerdasan visual spasial rendah hanya menunjukkan hanya menunjukkan satu aspek berpikir kreatif yaitu kefasihan (fluency) dan hanya mampu memahami tiga aspek pemecahan masalah yaitu memahami masalah, merencanakan pemecahan masalah, dan melaksanakan pemecahan masalah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen yang bertujuan  untuk mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran Course Review Horayberbantuan Lectora. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMP N 2 Mranggen Demak tahun pelajaran 2018/2019. Teknik pemilihan sampel yang digunakan adalah teknik cluster random sampling. Sebagai sampel diambil dua kelas yaitu kelas eksperimen dengan model pembelajaran Course Review Horayberbantuan Lectoradan kelas kontrol dengan model pembelajaran konvensional. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes dan angket. Analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji anava dua jalan, dan uji ketuntasan belajar individu dan klasikal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) prestasi belajar siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran CRHberbantuan Lectoralebih baik dari model pembelajaran konvensional , (2) terdapat perbedaan prestasi belajar matematikaantara siswa yang memiki gaya belajar visual, auditorial atau kinestetik , (3) tidak terdapat hubungan antara model pembelajaran dan gaya belajar terhadap prestasi belajar matematika, (4) siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran CRH berbantuan Lectora memenuhi KKM. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh adalah prestasi belajar siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran CRH berbantuan Lectora efektif dan lebih baik daripada pembelajaran Konvensional pada materi operasi bentuk aljabar.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) Perbedaan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dengan model pembelajaran Numbered Head togetherberbantuan Prezi, Student Teams Achievementberbantuan Prezi, dan konvensional; (2) Kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dengan model pembelajaran Numbered Head Togetherberbantuan Prezilebih baik daripada model pembelajaran konvensional; (3) Kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dengan model pembelajaran Student Teams Achievement Divisionberbantuan Prezilebih baik daripada model pembelajaran konvensional; (4) Kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dengan model pembelajaran Numbered Head Togetherberbantuan Prezisama baiknya dengan model pembelajaran Student Teams Achievement berbantuan Prezi; (5) Ketuntasan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa pada model pembelajaran Numbered Head Togetherberbantuan Prezidan model pembelajaran Student Teams Achievement Division berbantuanPrezi. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas X. Melalui cluster random samplingterpilih sampel penelitian yaitu X MIPA 2 sebagai kelas eksperimen 1, X MIPA 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen 2, dan X IPS 1 sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan metode dokumentasi, tes, dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) Terdapat perbedaan kemampuan komunikasi matematis  siswa yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Numbered Head Together berbantuan Prezi,Student Teams Achievement Division berbantuanPrezi, dan konvensional; (2) Kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa pada model pembelajaran Numbered Head Togetherberbantuan Prezilebih baik daripada model pembelajaran konvensional; (3) Kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa pada model pembelajaran Student Teams Achievement Divisionberbantuan Prezilebih baik daripada model pembelajaran konvensional. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendesain bahan ajar berbentuk pocket book matematika berbasis discovery learning yang valid untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian Research and Development dengan menggunkan model pengembangan ADDIE yang terdiri dari lima tahap yaitu Analisis (Analysis), Perancangan (Design), Pengembangan (Development), Implementasi (Implementation), dan Evaluasi (Evaluation). Penelitian ini hanya sampai pada tahap Development. Berdasarkan validasi ahli media, presentase kelayakan media yang diperoleh sebesar 87,5%. Dari presentase tersebut berada pada kriteria sangat baik menurut ahli media. Kemudian pada validasi ahli materi, presentase kelayakan materi yang diperoleh sebesar 88,5%. Dari presentase tersebut berada pada kriteria sangat baik menurut ahli materi. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa bahan ajar berbentuk pocket book matematika berbasis discovery learning pada materi lingkaran valid atau layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran.
