Abstract

This study aims to determine the description of students' errors in solving SPLDV questions in terms of students' reflective and impulsive cognitive styles. This research is a qualitative research using a descriptive approach which was carried out at MTs Husnul Khatimah 02 Semarang in the 2020/2021 academic year. The subjects of this study were grade VIII students with reflective and impulsive cognitive styles. The instrument used is a cognitive style questionnaire, namely the Matching Familiar Figure Test (MFFT) developed by Warli, the SPLDV problem solving test and interview guidelines. Checking the validity of the data in this study is time triangulation. The indicator of student errors is based on the Kastolan stages, namely procedural errors, conceptual errors, and technical errors. The results of this study are students with an impulsive cognitive style tend to have more errors than students with a reflective cognitive style. Internal factors that cause errors are because students are less thorough, lack of practice questions, do not understand the prerequisite material, do not understand the concept of solving linear inequality problems of two variables, and do not understand the basic concepts of elimination and substitution methods, while the external factor is the lack of time given to students. so that students have not finished working on the questions

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the ability of students in mathematical numeracy problem possing. Research data were collected from students of Mathematics Education Universitas PGRI Semarang. The subjects in this research have good communication skills. Data were collected by means of a written numeration test and task-based interview techniques. The data obtained were coded, simplified, then presented, triangulated and then obtained credible data to draw conclusions. The validity of the data used method triangulation and source triangulation was used to obtain credible data. The data collected were analyzed and reduced to include in the data presentation. Data exposure requires further data reduction, then conclusions are drawn. The results showed that there were still a few students who had all three classifications of problem posing abilities, namely pre-solution posing, within-solution posing, and post-solution posing. Students who have pre-solution posing skills can ask questions based on the data provided and can formulate problem solving. Students who have the ability within-solution posing can write down what is known and asked about the problem, raise supporting questions that are relevant to the problem and arrange solutions for supporting questions and problems that are given correctly. Meanwhile, students who have the ability to post-solution posing can raise similar problems after solving the problems given. Students can also arrange solutions to problems that have been made.

Abstract

Many students still have difficulty solving problems related to mathematics, one of which is algebraic material. Computational thinking is an ability needed to assist students in solving problems faced by students through abstraction, pattern recognition, decomposition, and algorithm skills. This study aims to describe the computational thinking abilities of IX grade junior high school students in solving mathematical problem solving. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive research. The time for conducting research is in the odd semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. The subjects taken were IX A grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Karangrayung. Using the problem- solving ability test, 2 students with high-level problem-solving abilities, 2 students with medium-level problem-solving abilities, and 2 students with low-level problem-solving abilities were selected using the problem-solving ability test. The data collection techniques used were problem solving ability tests, computational thinking ability tests, and interviews. Data analysis techniques were carried out in 3 stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusion. Data validity checking technique uses source triangulation. The results of this study show that students with high-level problem-solving skills are able to meet all indicators of computational thinking, students with medium- level problem-solving abilities are able to meet fulfill 3 of 4 computational thinking indicators, while students with low-level problem-solving skills are able to fulfill 2 of 4 computational thinking indicators.

Abstract

One of the main problems that must be resolved is the low ability and skills of elementary school teachers in Demak Regency in writing scientific articles based on classroom action research (PTK). Service activities are carried out to help solve teacher problems, especially related to making scientific articles. The service activity was attended by 40 elementary school teachers in Demak Regency. The training uses an andragogical approach where the percentage of practical activities is greater than the delivery of material. Intensive mentoring is also carried out to ensure that the output of this training activity can be achieved. The results of the activity show the high enthusiasm of teachers during training and mentoring in the practice of writing scientific articles. The results of mentoring activities show that there is an increase in teachers' understanding of writing scientific articles, as many as twenty teachers have been able to make articles well and have submitted their articles to the intended scientific journals.

Abstract

Regulation of the Minister of State for the Utilization of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform (Permen PAN & RB) Number 16 of 2009 concerning the Functional Position of Teachers, who wish to advance to rank III-b and above, are obliged to write papers. This regulation is imposed on teachers for promotion as evidence of professionalism in their duties and has an impact on mathematics teachers in Batang District. Batang District has 646 teachers who teach at SMK and 399 teachers who teach in SMA (BPS, 2014). The problems faced by partners are that teachers do not have the same perception about the standard of writing scientific papers in the form of Classroom Action Research, teachers are not active in classroom action research and teachers still have difficulty making articles and publishing them in relevant seminars or journals. The methods of implementing the activities of the IbM PTK Guru District of Batang are: lectures, group discussions and mentoring. The final output that is the target of this IbM is the PTK outline produced by the teacher participating in the activity. The CAR training activities for teachers at SMK Batang Regency were carried out well. Participants are happy with the CAR training that has been implemented. Most of these CAR training activities have two obstacles, namely in the form of extracting ideas and reviewing relevant research that can be overcome with mentoring. Constraints in the form of extracting ideas that are difficult to overcome can be overcome by recalling the various interesting cooperative learning models such as jigsaw, TGT, NHT and others. While the obstacle in the form of relevant research studies is overcome by introducing journals that have been published at PGRI University in Semarang as one of the references. Then the participants look for the appropriate articles so they can be cited.
