Abstract

This research analyzes the effect of using smart wheel media on the beginning reading skills of first-grade students at SD Bina Kasih, Panakkukang District, Makassar City. The study aims to describe the use of smart wheel media on first-grade students' beginning reading skills, to describe their beginning reading skills before and after the implementation of smart wheel media, and to determine the effect of using smart wheel media on the beginning reading skills of first-grade students. This study employed a quantitative approach with an experimental research design in the form of a Pre-Experimental Design with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design type. The sample used in this research was first-grade students at SD Bina Kasih, Panakkukang District, Makassar City. The data collection techniques employed in this study were observation and tests. For data analysis, both descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis were used, with the aid of IBM SPSS Statistics Version 30. The results of this study indicate that the description of using smart wheel media on first-grade students' beginning reading skills falls into the very good category. Similarly, the description of first-grade students' beginning reading skills is also in the very good category. Furthermore, there is a proven significant positive effect of using smart wheel media on the beginning reading skills of first-grade students, as demonstrated by hypothesis testing using the t-test formula with the aid of IBM SPSS Statistics version 30.)

Abstract

This study aims to describe the intensity of social media use, the level of social interaction, and the relationship between the intensity of social media use and social interaction among fifth-grade students at UPT SPF SD Negeri Tidung, Makassar City. The approach used in this research is quantitative with a non-experimental correlational research design. Data were collected through questionnaires and observations distributed to a sample of 67 students selected using purposive sampling techniques. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics through the Pearson Product Moment correlation test. The results showed that the intensity of social media use among students was relatively high, with most students actively using social media in their daily lives, particularly applications such as WhatsApp, TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. Meanwhile, the students' level of social interaction was categorized as moderate, indicating that their ability to interact directly was fairly good, although some students tended to be more active virtually than in face-to-face interactions. Inferential analysis revealed a strong positive relationship between the intensity of social media use and students’ social interaction. This means that the higher the intensity of students’ social media use, the higher their level of social interaction, both directly and indirectly through the social media platforms used by fifth-grade students at UPT SPF SD Negeri Tidung, Makassar City.

Abstract

The principal as a leader plays a role and is responsible for organizing, monitoring, fostering, and improving the teaching and learning process. The concept of democratic leadership style and principal competence has a role in improving teacher performance. This quantitative research was conducted to determine: First: Description of the principal's democratic leadership style; Second: Description of the principal's competence; Third: Description of teacher performance; Fourth: The influence of democratic leadership style on teacher performance; Fifth: The influence of principal competence on teacher performance; Sixth: The influence of democratic leadership style and principal competence on teacher performance. Data on the description and influence of democratic leadership style, principal competence and teacher performance were collected using a questionnaire instrument with a likert scale. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis and statistical analysis using multiple regression at a significance level of 5%. The results of the analysis show that (1) The majority of teachers gave a high rating to the principal's leadership style which reflects participation, open communication, and deliberative decision-making. This finding indicates that principals in the area have implemented democratic leadership principles consistently and effectively. (2) The principal's competence is in the very good category, with an average score of 66.44 out of a maximum of 75, or equivalent to a percentage of 88.58%. Most teachers gave a positive rating to the principal's ability to carry out his leadership role. (3) Teacher performance is in the very good category, with an average score of 64.34 out of a maximum of 74, or equivalent to a percentage of 86.94%. Most teachers are in the high score category. This indicates that teachers have good abilities in planning, implementing, and evaluating the learning process. (4) The insignificant influence of the principal's democratic leadership style on teacher performance with a significance value (> 0.05) of 0.537 with a calculated t of 0.619 < t table 1.97. (5) there is a significant influence of the principal's competence on teacher performance with a significance value (< 0.05) of 0.000 with a calculated t of 6.755 > t table 1.97. Abstract

Abstrak. Literasi merupakan keterampilan fundamental yang penting bagi calon guru sekolah dasar, karena mereka akan menjadi fasilitator utama dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi siswa. Namun, masih terdapat kesenjangan dalam penguasaan literasi berbicara di kalangan mahasiswa calon guru. Literasi berbicara merupakan keterampilan penting bagi mahasiswa calon guru Sekolah Dasar (SD) dalam membangun komunikasi yang efektif dengan peserta didik. Namun, banyak mahasiswa masih mengalami kesulitan dalam mengungkapkan ide secara lisan dengan jelas, runtut, dan menarik. Digital storytelling berbasis joyful learning menjadi salah satu pendekatan inovatif yang dapat membantu meningkatkan literasi berbicara mahasiswa melalui pengalaman belajar yang menyenangkan dan berbasis teknologi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur efektivitas digital storytelling berbasis joyful learning dalam meningkatkan literasi mahasiswa calon guru sekolah dasar. Fokus utama adalah pada keterampilan berbicara, serta bagaimana metode ini memengaruhi motivasi mereka dalam pembelajaran literasi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah mixed method dengan pendekatan pre-experimental design. Pendekatan kuantitatif diterapkan melalui Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) menggunakan SmartPLS untuk menganalisis hubungan antara digital storytelling berbasis joyful learning dengan peningkatan literasi berbicara mahasiswa. Sementara itu, pendekatan kualitatif digunakan untuk menggali lebih dalam pengalaman mahasiswa dalam menggunakan digital storytelling melalui wawancara mendalam. Analisis data kualitatif dilakukan dengan analisis tematik, yang bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi pola dan tema utama dalam persepsi mahasiswa terkait efektivitas metode pembelajaran ini.Kata Kunci: Literacy, Digital Storytelling, Joyful Learning, Digital Learning, SmartPLS

Abstract

This quasi-experimental study aims to determine the effect of applying the Cooperative Learning Model Type Numbered Heads Together (NHT) on the cooperative attitude of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Beroanging, Makassar City. The independent variable in this study is the NHT learning model, while the dependent variable is students’ cooperative attitude. The study involved two classes, with 15 students from class VA as the experimental group and 15 students from class VB as the control group. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical methods. The results showed that the implementation of the NHT model was carried out very well and significantly improved students’ cooperative attitudes. The N-gain score of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group, indicating that the NHT model had a positive effect on students’ cooperation skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan tentangpeningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada pembelajaran tematikterpadu menggunakan model Discovery Learning di kelas VSD INPRES 5/81 Waetuwo. Pembelajaran tematik terpaduadalah pembelajaran terpadu yang menggunakan tema untukmengaitkan beberapa mata pelajaran sehingga dapatmemberikan pengalaman bermakna kepada murid. Pembelajaran tematik sangat menuntut kreatifitas guru dalammemilih dan mengembangkan tema pembelajaran. Abstract

Permasalahan pada penelitian ini yaitu hasil belajar siswa kelas V di UPT SDI Benteng Kepulauan Selayar yang belum mencapai standar kelulusan yang ditentukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL). Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dan jenis penelitian adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Implementasi tindakan penelitian ini dilakukan dalam 2 siklus dimulai dengan kegiatan pra-penelitian, kemudian setiap siklus terdiri dari 4 tahap termasuk perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Untuk menentukan tingkat persentase proses dan hasil  belajar siswa, peneliti menggunakan lembar observasi dan tes evaluasi pada setiap siklus. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah guru dan siswa kelas V, dengan total 26 siswa, terdiri dari 6 laki-laki dan 20 perempuan. Analisis data dilakukan selama dan setelah pengumpulan data. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis data kualitatif. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh selama implementasi siklus I dan siklus II, ditemukan bahwa hasil penelitian pada siklus I berada pada kategori cukup, dan terdapat peningkatan pada siklus II yang berada pada kategori baik dan mencapai indikator yang telah ditentukan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah dengan menerapkan model PBL dapat meningkatkan proses pembelajaran dan hasil belajar siswa pada materi sifat-sifat cahaya di kelas V UPT SDI Benteng   Selayar.

Abstract

Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas V UPT SPF SD Negeri Rajawali Kecamatan Mariso Kota Makassar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman menggunakan media E-Bookstory berbasis aplikasi canva pada siswa kelas V UPT SPF SD Negeri Rajawali Kecamatan Mariso Kota Makassar. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif. Jenis penelitian adalah Penelitian Tindakan kelas (PTK). Setting penelitian ini adalah UPT SPF SD Negeri Rajawali Kecamatan Mariso Kota Makassar. Adapun subjek penelitiannya adalah guru dan siswa yang berjumlah 16 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, tes, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan keterampilan berbicara siswa secara klasikal dari siklus I ke siklus II. Adapun dalam aktivitas belajar siswa pada siklus I berada pada kategori cukup sedangkan pada siklus II berada pada kategori baik. Tes akhir pada keterampilan membaca pemahaman siklus I berada pada kategori cukup sedangkan pada siklus II berada pada kategori baik. Dari hasil analisis tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media E-Bookstory berbasis aplikasi canva dapat meningkatkan keterampilan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas V UPT SPF SD Negeri Rajawali Kecamatan Mariso Kota Makassar.

Abstract

jThe problem in this study is the low learning outcomes of fifth grade students of SDInpres Sanrangan, Gowa Regency. This study aims to determine:(1) Problem BasedLearning Model on Science Learning Outcomes, (2) Student learning outcomes inthe subject of Science, (3) The Effect of the Application of Problem Based Learningon Science Learning Outcomes. The approach used in this study is quantitative witha quasi-experimental design research type. The data collection techniques used arequestionnaires, observation and documentation. The data analysis technique usedis by conducting hypothesis testing using a t-test with the Independent sample t-testtype. The results of the study showed that the learning process by implementing theApplication of Problem Based Learning at each meeting increased. Students'interest in learning after being given treatment in the form of the Application ofProblem Based Learning increased. The probability value obtained from the resultsof the hypothesis test analysis is less than 0.05 so it is concluded that there is asignificant difference between the post non-test of the experimental class and thecontrol class. The conclusion in this study is that the Application of Problem BasedLearning has a positive effect. Students' interest in learning before being giventreatment was in the category of less interested, and after being given treatment inthe form of the Application of Problem Based Learning, students' interest in learningincreased. There is an effect of the Application of Problem Based Learning onstudent learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the phenomenon of low English vocabulary mastery and similar problems found at the UPT SPF SD Inpres Parang. The objectives of this study were to determine (1) the description of the application of the SAVI learning model in fifth-grade English lessons, (2) the description of students' vocabulary mastery, and (3) the effect of the SAVI model on students' English vocabulary mastery. This research is a Quasi Experimental Design with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research population includes all 30 fifth-grade students, with class VB as the experimental group and class VA as the control group, each consisting of 15 students. Data collection techniques include tests and observations. The results showed that the implementation of the SAVI model was very successful. The average score of the experimental class increased from adequate in the pretest to excellent in the posttest. Improvements were also seen in the indicators of the ability to use vocabulary in the correct context, spell correctly, and translate vocabulary according to its meaning. The results of the independent t-test showed a significance value of < 0.001 (< 0.05), so the alternative hypothesis was accepted. Thus, there was a significant effect of the application of the SAVI learning model on the English vocabulary mastery of fifth grade students at UPT SPF SD Inpres Parang.
