Abstract

This research is research on the development of a STEM-Inquiry-based science module on organ systems and organisms. The purpose of this study was to know the validity and reliability of the STEM-Inquiry based module to improve scientific literacy. This research used the 4D development models by Thiagarajan, only reached the developer's validation stage. The subjects in this study were experts consisting of academics and practitioners. The data was collected through a validation questionnaire by six experts and analyzed using the Aiken's V formula and the reliability analysis of the Alpha Cronbach formulas with the help of SPSS 24. Module validity, lesson plan and literacy test results were 0.87, 0.88 and 0.90 respectively were declared valid with "very high" criteria. Reliability module, lesson plan and literacy test results based on Cronbach Alpha are 0.81, 0.88 and 0.91, respectively, which meant they had "very high" reliability. This shows that the development of the organ system and organism module on STEM-inquiry-based has met the valid and reliable criteria so that it is feasible to use.

Abstract

Keterampilan literasi sains siswa perlu ditingkatkan sesuai tuntutan keterampilan abad 21 menuju era masyarakat 5.0. Students' scientific literacy skills need to be improved according to the demands of 21st-century skills towards the 5.0 society era. There are limited student e-books and relevant media, so science teaching materials that contain scientific literacy are needed. This study aims to explain the validity of the media and the practicality of the media articulate storyline and is included in research and development (R&D) using a 4D model (define, design, develop, disseminate). The data collection techniques used media validation sheets and student response questionnaires with data analysis techniques in this study using the validity test, namely Aiken's V and percentages. The results of this study indicate that the articulate storyline media and scientific literacy test, declared valid with a value of 0.84 and 0.87, respectively, are included in the high validity category with a consistency value between the validators of 84.33% and 75.00%. The media was tested for readability and practicality in small groups to get media readability scores and student response questionnaires of 84.80% and 84.40%, respectively. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the articulation storyline media is valid and practically applied in science learning.

Abstract

One of the fundamental concepts for the high-level problem-solving abilities required by humans in the twenty-first century is computational thinking. The basic principles and ideas found in informatics and computer science are used to solve issues computationally with the help of computational thinking. The bibliometric examination of the research on computational thinking in learning is explained in detail in this article. Using the Scopus database and the Publish or Perish (PoP) program, articles were found. According to the search and sorting results, 187 of the 200 items were located between 2019 and 2022. The Mendeley Desktop program was used to alter the chosen metadata. The VOSviewer program is then used to evaluate further and display the modifications. Most articles published in the 2019–2022 timeframe with the keyword of computational thinking have been quoted quite a bit.

Abstract

Students' misconceptions have become common in the teaching and learning process, particularly in the challenging subject of biochemistry. This research aims to identify undergraduate students' conceptual understanding and misconceptions of amino acids, proteins, and enzymes. The research method is descriptive qualitative, and data about student conception profiles are retrieved using a four-tier diagnostic test (FTDT). The research subjects comprised 27 participants, including the Chemistry Education Study Program at Universitas Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) Banjarmasin. The sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling. Data collection with a four-tier diagnostic test instrument consisting of 8 questions, categorizing concept understanding into understanding, not understanding the concept, and misconceptions. Data analysis was conducted by converting the results of the four-tier diagnostic test instrument into percentage data. The results showed that in the amino acids, proteins, and enzymes, of the five concepts tested, 36.67% were in the category of understanding the concept, 15.19% were in the category of not understanding the concept, and 48.15% were in the category of misconceptions. In conclusion, students' concept understanding and misconceptions are moderate. Recommended that innovative learning methods be applied to improve students' understanding of concepts in the sub-material of amino acids, proteins, and enzymes
