Abstract

This study aims to analyse the validity and reliability of a critical thinking skills instrument on the topic of wave-particle dualism using the Rasch model. Data collection was carried out by administering a critical thinking skills test to students enrolled in a modern physics course. A total of 36 students from a university in West Nusa Tenggara participated. Data analysis was performed using the Rasch model through the Winsteps 4.6.1 software. The results indicated that the instrument is valid and reliable. The instrument's validity was tested by examining the data's fit to the Rasch model through infit and outfit MNSQ values and ZSTD, all of which were within the expected acceptance range. Construct validity was analysed through standardized residual variance, showing that the Rasch model can explain most of the variance in the data. Similarly, the instrument's reliability showed that the item reliability was in the very good category (0.93) and the person reliability was in the moderate category (0.68), with a Cronbach's alpha value of 0.86, indicating very good internal reliability. These findings confirm that the Rasch model is effective in assessing and improving the quality of critical thinking skills evaluation instruments in the context of modern physics education.

Abstract

Natural science learning is a process of discovery, therefore science learning includes systematic exploration activities, which means not only mastering systematic accumulation but also the process of discovery. It's helps aid participants in solving problems. However, the phenomena encountered show that students' problem-solving abilities are still quite low. The low problem-solving ability is also influenced by students' self-efficacy. Therefore, it is necessary to innovate the development of science learning tools using appropriate models. One model that can be use is the integrated PBL model with the STEM approach. The development carried out aims to increase students' problem-solving abilities and self-efficacy. This type of research is R&D research with the ADDIE development model. Study findings indicate that students' problem-solving abilities have increased by 0.81 in the high category and their self-efficacy has increased by 0.30 in the medium category. These findings are based on the acquisition of the N-gain value. Consequently, it is beneficial to increase students' problem-solving skills and self-efficacy to design science learning resources that incorporate the PBL model and the STEM approach.

Abstract

This study aims to synthesize and map research trends related to the development of sensor-based linear motion kits integrated with a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model to enhance students’ problem-solving and critical thinking skills in physics education. A Hybrid Systematic Literature Review (SLR) and Bibliometric Review was employed following PRISMA guidelines. Articles published between 2020 and 2025 were retrieved from Scopus and SINTA databases. Articles focusing on sensor-based kits and PBL in high school or university physics were included. After identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion processes, 30 relevant studies were analyzed. Bibliometric techniques were used to identify publication trends, keyword co-occurrence, and thematic clusters, while qualitative synthesis examined pedagogical approaches and learning outcomes. The findings indicate a growing research interest in sensor-supported physics learning and PBL integration. Studies consistently report that sensor-based linear motion kits embedded in PBL environments effectively support real-time data interpretation, experimental reasoning, and collaborative inquiry, leading to significant improvements in problem-solving and critical thinking skills. However, gaps remain in the integration of low-cost, curriculum-aligned sensor kits and in long-term empirical validation. This review highlights the pedagogical potential of integrating sensor-based linear motion kits with PBL and provides evidence-based insights to guide future research and instructional design in physics education.

Abstract

This study aims to map and synthesize existing research related to PjBL-based e-modules, student creativity, and BaM hexaferrite material studies, in order to identify research trends, gaps, and opportunities for interdisciplinary integration. A Hybrid Review methodology was employed, combining a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) guided by PRISMA 2020 and a Bibliometric Review. Literature published between 2018 and 2025 was collected from Scopus and SINTA databases. A total of 38 eligible articles were included for qualitative synthesis and bibliometric mapping. The SLR examined research focus, methodologies, learning outcomes, and material synthesis approaches, while the bibliometric analysis explored publication trends, keyword co-occurrence, collaboration networks, and thematic structures. The results indicate that PjBL-based e-modules are consistently effective in fostering creativity and higher-order thinking skills. However, bibliometric evidence reveals a clear separation between physics education research and BaM hexaferrite material studies, with minimal thematic overlap. This finding highlights a significant research gap and underscores the novelty of integrating BaM hexaferrite synthesis and characterization into a PjBL-oriented e-module. The study provides a strong conceptual foundation for developing research-based digital learning materials that promote authentic scientific creativity in higher education physics.

Abstract

The increasing discharge of dye-contaminated wastewater from the textile industry poses serious environmental and health challenges, necessitating the development of efficient, sustainable, and reusable treatment materials. This study presents a hybrid review integrating a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) and bibliometric analysis to critically examine research trends, material design strategies, adsorption mechanisms, and existing limitations of magnetic nanocomposite adsorbents for textile dye wastewater treatment. Following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines, 30 peer-reviewed articles published between 2018 and 2025 were systematically selected for SLR from Scopus and SINTA databases and 200-500 articles for bibliometric analysis. Bibliometrics focuses on Scopus data (to identify global trends), while SINTA is used to strengthen SLR in the local context of the Indonesian textile industry. Bibliometric mapping using VOSviewer reveals a growing research emphasis on multifunctional materials, regeneration performance, and sustainability, while the SLR highlights a dominant focus on binary nanocomposite systems and single-dye adsorption studies under idealized laboratory conditions. A significant research gap is identified in the integration of complex tungsten–tantalum oxide phases with magnetic Fe₃O₄ matrices. Addressing this gap, this review identifies the integration of complex tungsten–tantalum oxide phases as a promising future research direction to overcome current limitations in chemical stability and improved resistance to harsh textile wastewater environments. The findings provide strategic insights for the design of next-generation magnetic adsorbents with improved industrial applicability and environmental sustainability.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model on students’ learning outcomes in the topic of static fluids. The population of this study consisted of all Grade XI Science classes at SMAN 1 Gunungsari. The samples were selected using a purposive sampling technique, resulting in Class XI MIPA A as the experimental group and Class XI MIPA C as the control group. The research employed a nonequivalent control group design, in which the two groups received different treatments. The experimental group was taught using the Project-Based Learning model, while the control group received conventional instruction. Learning outcomes were measured in the cognitive domain, covering cognitive levels from C1 to C6. The instrument used was a multiple-choice test consisting of 22 items. The learning outcome data were analyzed using parametric statistics, specifically the pooled variance t-test, at a significance level of 5%. The analysis yielded a calculated t-value (tₕᵢₜᵤₙg) of 3.65 and a critical t-value (tₜₐᵦₗₑ) of 2.01. Since the calculated t-value was greater than the critical t-value, the null hypothesis (H₀) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Hₐ) was accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Project-Based Learning model had a significant effect on students’ learning outcomes in the topic of static fluids.
