The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of exercise levels on the hematological and metabolical status, and carcass quality of Garut sheep. In total 24 of Garut sheep used in this study. The levels of exercise contain three treatments namely non exercise, semi exercise  and exercise. Blood collection through the jugular vein of sheep samples was carried out at the end of the study, using a 5 mL EDTA tube to measure the haematological condition of the animal sample. Likewise, collecting muscle samples to determine the physical quality of meat.The data was analyzed by analysis of variance and continued by Duncan test for a post hoc test. The results showed that the models of exercise were not significantly (P0.05) affected to hematological level and also carccas quality including juiceness, tenderness, drip loss and water holding capacity. Organoleptic sensory  using semiexercise was more favourable meat  compare to exercise and non exercise. While for the colour of meat, non exercise treatment was significantly (P0.05) affected to the colour of meat compare to exercise and semi exercise. Furthermore the semi exercise  was the best treatment to produce fresh taste meat with good sensory characteristic.

The study aimed to identify genetic variation of cDNA sequence from low density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR) gene of hyporesponder cynomolgus macaques. The animal used in this study was one hyporesponder cynomolgus macaque obtained from selection result in Primate Research Center-Bogor Institute of Agriculture (PSSP IPB). Amplification of cDNA from LDLR gene was performed using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method with 4 pairs of walking primer. Alignment of amplification result sequence from 4 pairs of walking primer generated target sequence of 2353 bp which located on position 188-2540. Analysis of target sequence alignment on reference sequence in GenBank found 8 single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP), namely c408CT; c.1200CT; c.1497CT; c.1644TC; 1791TC; 1804AG; 2088CT; and 2377GA. Of 8 SNPs, c.1804AG and 2377GA. Two SNP (c.1804AG; dan 2377GA) caused changing of amino acids composition namely p.K602E (lysine → glutamate) and p.V793I (valine → isoleucine). This result proved the potential use of genetic variation of cDNA sequence from LDLR gene as genetic marker for selection of hyporesponder cynomolgus macaques.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate effects of Molasses replacement with Vinasse-molasses in ration on the blood metabolite profiles and mRNA expression of Growth Hormone 1 (GH1) of finishing Peranakan Ongole (PO) Cattle.Methods: Ten male PO cattle in averaged 209 ± 21 kg of body weight were equally allocated to receive either molasses or Vinasse-molasses dietary treatments. The concentrate diet was contained of either 15% of molasses (control) or Vinasse-molasses. This study observed the nutrient intake, percentage of weight gain, blood metabolite profiles and GH1 mRNA expression of PO cattle.Results: The result showed that replacing molasses with vinasse-molasses reduced (P<0.05) dry matter intake (DMI) and intakes of crude protein (CP), ether extract (EE), crude fiber (CF), and total digestible nutrient (TDN). Nevertheless, Vinasse-molasses inclusion did not change (P>0.05) percentage of weight gain. Vinasse-molasses increased (P<0.05) the blood urea nitrogen level, while it did not affect (P>0.05) the GH1 mRNA levels.Conclusions: It can be concluded that replacing molasses with vinasse-molasses does not change blood metabolite profile, GH1 mRNA expression and performance of PO cattle.  Vinasse-molasses could be applied as energy sources ingredient to replace molasses in finishing cattle feed.

The objective of this study was to develop a prediction model to assess fresh beef spoilage directly with the use of a portable near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS), without conducting a chemical method. Three fresh beef samples were bought from a slaughterhouse and traditional market on separate days. Spectra were acquired using a portable Scio spectrometer with wavelength 740-1070 nm, and two-third was used for calibration sets and one-third for validation sets. Partial least square regression and cross-validation were used to develop a model and equation for predicting beef spoilage. The changes observed were changed in color, water loss, and muscle hardness. The best predictive model was obtained from the original spectra (no pre-process) results as follows (R2C = 0.9, Rp = 0.86, SEC = 0.61, SEP = 0.69 and RPD = 3.53). Multiple Scattered Correlation (MSC) pre-processing method gave a good and acceptable model with results as follows; Rc = 0.89, SEC = 0.66, SEP = 0.83 and RPD = 2.91. NIRS showed variability of the samples and rate of spoilage, hence, can be used to assess quality and safety. Further studies are needed to develop a robust model to predict fresh beef spoilage using a portable NIRS Scio.

Prediksi deret waktu dibutuhkan untuk menjawab pertanyaan bisnis dimasa depan  yang akurat sehingga perlunya membangun model prediksi yang memiliki kinerja bagus. Pendekatan machine learning seperti long short term memory (LSTM) dan Prophet menjadi popular saat ini untuk pemodelan prediksi deret waktu. Agribisnis susu segar saat ini salah satu studi kasus yang memerlukan peranan teknologi informasi seperti bisnis intelijen untuk memastikan ketersediaan pasokan susu dimasa depan. Upaya pertama yang perlu dilakukan adalah menyiapkan model prediksi yang tepat meskipun data awal yang dikumpulkan masih sedikit atau terbatas. Dataset produksi susu sapi selama 300 hari menjadi data penelitian yang dimodelkan kedalam LSTM dan Prophet. Keduanya dibandingkan kinerjanya terhadapa data terbatas. Hasilnya uji koefisien determinasi R2 keduanya yaitu 0.2, sehingga perlu dilakukan peningkatan kinerja melalui tahapan revise and enhance. Hasilnya, kedua model meningkat nilai R2 menjadi 0.3 dan LSTM lebih baik dari Prophet. Meskipun demikian perbedaan keduanya tidak terlalu signifikan dan peningkatan juga tidak berbeda terlalu jauh karena data susu memiliki pola multi-periode dengan tren berbeda signifikan. Periode 90 hari pertama adalah masa klimaks laktasi sedangkan periode kedua setelah 90 hari adalah masa intervensi peternak menurunkan hasil perah untuk persiapakan ternak kambing perah ke masa kawin dan bunting.

Food safety is essential for consumers. One of the compound that are prohibited from being used to preserve chicken meat is formalin. It demands a fast classification and sorting process for chicken meat, whether it is processed further or not. The main objective of this research is to develop a model that can predict the formalin content of chicken meat at room temperature using a portable NIR spectrometer. The NIRS method utilizes electromagnetic waves in infrared radiation with wavelengths ranging from 740-1070 nm. The method used to process the data is partial least square discriminative analysis (PLS-DA) to determine the presence of formalin in chicken meat. The results showed that the best pre-treatment was using the 1st derivative which had calibration results with an accuracy value of 92.86%, sensitivity 94.05%, specificity 91.67%, and FPR 8.33%. While the validation results obtained an accuracy value of 92.86%, sensitivity 92.86%, specificity 92.86%, and FPR 7.14%. Keywords: Chicken meat, formalin, NIRS, non-destructive method, PLS-DA.

Kambing Marica adalah plasma nutfah endemik di Indonesia yang mempunyai kemampuan daya adaptasi yang cukup baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji tingkah laku makan dari kambing Marica yang diberi pakan berbeda serta korelasinya terhadap pertambahan bobot badan harian dan tingkat konsumsi. Penelitian ini menggunakan delapan ekor kambing Marica jantan yang dipelihara pada kandang individu selama delapan minggu. Perlakuan pakan yang diberikan adalah pakan komplit berupa konsentrat dan pakan hijauan (Indigofera sp. dan Pennisetum purpureum). Hasil uji korelasi Pearson menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan signifikan (P<0,05) antara tingkah laku deglutisi terhadap PBBH kambing Marica yang diberi pakan komplit dengan nilai korelasi Pearson yaitu 0,979. Semakin tinggi frekuensi deglutisi yang terjadi maka pertambahan bobot badan harian dari kambing Marica yang diberi pakan komplit akan semakin meningkat. Selain itu, juga terdapat hubungan signifikan (P<0,05) antara tingkah laku deglutisi dan lama ruminasi terhadap konsumsi kambing Marica yang diberi pakan hijauan dengan nilai korelasi Pearson masing-masing yaitu 0,953 dan 0,970, serta periode ruminasi terhadap konsumsi kambing Marica yang diberi pakan komplit dengan nilai korelasi Pearson -0,970. Semakin tinggi frekuensi deglutisi dan waktu yang dibutuhkan kambing Marica dalam proses ruminasi maka tingkat konsumsi pakan akan semakin meningkat.

The development of big data and real-time data warehouse (RTDW) technologies has transformed traditional business intelligence (BI) into real-time business intelligence (RTBI). The RTBI framework is developed in this study by incorporating machine learning-based real-time prediction features. The complexity of layer integration in the RTBI framework is a challenge in building RTBI. The development of RTBI was carried out in business areas that did not have RTBI from the beginning, such as the dairy goat milk business in Probolinggo, East Java. Another main reason is that the dairy goat milk business is a food alternative to cow's milk in Indonesia. The results of this study can contribute to increasing the potential value of the goat milk business. The research method was developed by adapting to the Kimball method and unified modeling language (UML). The real-time prediction feature with the long short-term memory (LSTM) algorithm is the main feature in the RTBI framework developed in the research. The calculation results of real-time predictive analysis latency successfully approached 0 milliseconds (ms), namely 9.35×10-5 ms. The application of RTBI in the dairy goat milk business was successfully built but the real data is very limited, so RTBI is less able to describe the movement of the business.
