Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research aimed at finding out how far the use of intensive method could help the students in grade VIIIA of SMP PGRI 7 Denpasar, this is also to improve their ability especially in using and adding affixes in noun and verb. The data source was taken from the test which is called by pretest and post-test. The data is collected from student in grade VIIIA. Some theoretical frameworks are used in this research, such as the theory of morphology generative by Aronoff (2011) and theory of intensive method by Iskandarwassid (2013). The result of quantitative data on cycle II showed that the use of intensive method could improve students ability especially in adding affixes with noun (plural and singular) and verb (present tense, continous tense, and past tense). The result of the students on cycle II, it can be seen from mean score which was 92.08 and it is categorized into good level. This research also supported by the qualitative data. From the qualitative data, it was showed that the students could answer the missing sentences. Besides, the students could use affixes in steam and root well. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan sejauh mana penerapan dari metode intensif dapat membantu peserta didik kelas VIIIA SMP PGRI 7 Denpasar untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mereka khususnya dalam penggunaan dan penambahan afiks pada nomina dan verba. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah hasil tes berupa pre-tes dan postes. Data yang terkumpul berasal dari peserta didik kelas VIIIA. Dalam penelitian ini, digunakan teori morfologi generatif dari Aronoff (2011) dan metode intensif dari Iskandarwassid (2013). Hasil data kuantitatif pada siklus II menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan metode intensif dalam pembelajaran afiks dapat meningkatkan pemahaman peserta didik dalam hal menambahkan afiks pada2nomina (tunggal dan jamak) dan verba (pada present tense, continous tense, dan past tense). Hasil nilai rata-rata pada siklus II dari peserta didik yaitu 92.08 yang dapat dikategorikan sebagai sangat baik. Penelitian ini juga didukung oleh data kualitatif. Dari data kualitatif dapat dilihat bahwa peserta didik mampu menjawab dengan baik kalimat rumpang dan menggunakan afiks pada nomina serta verba.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dan mendeskripsikan pengaruh sistem pemarkahan bahasa Indonesia terhadap pembelajaran kalimat aktif dan pasif bahasa Arab. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode tes. Teori yang digunakan adalah Analisis Kontrastif (Contrastive Analysis ). Teori ini digunakan untuk menginvestigasi perbedaan sistem pemarkahan kedua bahasa dan mengivestigasi kesalahan yang dibuat oleh pelajar. Sistem pemarkahan pada unsur kalimat dalam bahasa Arab dengan bahasa Indonesia berbeda. Dari hasil analisis data ditemukan bahwa sistem pemarkahan, konstruksi pasif, dan konstruksi aktif menunjukkan perbedaan. Pada bahasa Arab, konstituen subjek dan objek dimarkahi secara sintaksis dan morfologis. Secara sintaksis, pemarkah berupa perubahan harakat (vokal) dan secara morfologis berupa perubahan bentuk kata. Pada bahasa Indonesia, konstituen subjek dan objek hanya dimarkahi secara sintaksis, yaitu berdasarkan fungsi dan letak konstituen. Perbedaan konstruksi pasif terletak pada unsur pembentuk kalimat pasif dan bentuk verba pasifnya. Konstruksi pasif bahasa Arab terdiri atas subjek dan predikat tanpa disertai pelaku. Verba pasifnya dibentuk dengan modifikasi vokal. Konstruksi pasif bahasa Indonesia terdiri atas subjek, predikat dan objek (pelaku). Verba pasifnya dibentuk secara morfologis dengan afiksasi di-. Perbedaan tersebut menyebabkan pelajar mengalami tiga kategori kesalahan yaitu addition sebesar 9,7%, omission sebesar 11,3% dan misformation sebesar 79%. Kategori misformation ini merupakan kesalahan terbesar yang disebabkan oleh perbedaan yang dimiliki oleh kedua bahasa.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini mengkaji beberapa peran semantis subjek dalam klausa bahasa Muna. Dalam berbagai bahasa, klausanya dimungkinkan memiliki sejumlah peran semantis. Begitu pula dengan bahasa Muna. Dalam tuturan sehari-hari, klausa merupakan unsur terpenting karena mengandung predikasi. Predikat sebagai penentu maksud pembicaraan. Di dalam klausa tersebut, subjeknya dapat saja berupa agen atau pasien. Dalam teori RRG, agen dan pasien dikatakan sebagai peran umum, yaitu ACTOR dan UNDERGOER. Kedua peran semantis ini dapat saja hadir dalam satu klausa ataupun dapat hadir dalam satu klausa sekaligus. Hal itulah yang diuraikan dalam penelitian ini. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian lapangan karena sumber data yang berupa data lisan berasal dari penutur atau informan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode simak dan metode cakap dengan teknik sadap, teknik simak libat cakap, teknik rekam atau teknik catat, serta teknik pemancingan. Selanjutnya, data dianalisis dengan metode agih dan metode padan dengan teknik dasar bagi unsur langsung (BUL) sehingga analisis peran semantis subjek terlihat jelas. Analisis peran semantis subjek dalam klausa bahasa Muna mengacu pada teori Role and Reference Grammar (RRG). Hasil yang ditemukan, yaitu klausa bahasa Muna memiliki tiga peran semantis subjek, yaitu (1) klausa dengan SUBJEK memiliki peran semantis ACTOR, (2) klausa dengan SUBJEK memiliki peran semantis UNDERGOER, dan (3) klausa dengan SUBJEK memiliki peran semantis ACTOR sekaligus UNDERGOER. Klausa dengan peran semantis ACTOR sekaligus UNDERGOER dapat berupa klausa refleksif dan klausa resiprokal. Argumen UNDERGOER sebagai SUBJEK klausa dapat berupa entitas [-human] dan [+human]. ABSTRACTThis research to describe severally subject semantical roles in the clauses of Munansese language. In the another language, its clause enabling to have a number semantical role, like Munanese language. In discourse, clause is the constitute primary element because clause have predicate. Predicate as determining as talk intention. In that clause, that subject come as agent or patient. In RRG theory, agent and patient is as semantic macro role, which ACTOR and UNDERGOER. The semantical role just can be present deep one clause or even get attending in one clause at a swoop. The thing to described deep observational. This research included the a kualitative descriptive research. This research constitute field research because data source that as data of oral from speaker or informan. This research used simak and cakap method with sadap, simak libat cakap, rekam and pemancingan technic. Hereafter, the data analysis by agih method and padan method with technic base for bagi unsur langsung (BUL) to make the subject semantical role is clear. Analysis subject semantical role in the Munanese language clause points on Role and Reference Grammar (RRG) theory. Found result, Munanese language clause has three subject semantical roles, which is (1) clauses with SUBJECT as ACTOR , (2) clauses with SUBJECT as UNDERGOER, and (3) clauses with SUBJECT is ACTOR and UNDERGOER. Abstract

Abstract Bimanese is an interesting language to observe because it is located in the area between two types of languages, namely an af xed language and an unaf xed language (Satyawati, 2010, p. 2). With such conditions, of course Bimanese will have characteristics in both languages. From several studies (Ara k (2007), Jauhari (2000), Owens (2000), and Satyawati (2010), studies related to noun constituents have not been studied.The results of previous studies focused more on general syntactic studies, especially on syntactic relations and the valence of Bimanese, even though it is really very important to observe each Bimanese constituent so that the speakers can describe Bimanese grammar gradually. For the rst phase, the research will observe the nominalizer of the language. Functional Grammar by Kroeger (2005) and some concepts from Van Valin and Dixon will be applied to analyze the collected data. The theory used is related to theory of noun. It is hoped that the aim of the research- to nd out the nominal system in Bimanes if it is similar to Indonesian- can be known. Method used to collect data is elicitation method completed with recording and note taking technique, while for analyzing data distributional method and equivalence method are applied. The results of the study will show the forms of nominalizer whether they are morphological or syntactical marker. Keywords: Bimanese, nominalizer, clitics, typology Abstract Bahasa Bima merupakan bahasa yang menarik untuk diamati karena letak penuturnya di antara dua tipe bahasa, yaitu bahasa bera ks dan bahasa tak bera ks (Satyawati, 2010, p. 2). Dengan kondisi yang demikian, tentunya bahasa Bima akan memiliki ciri di kedua bahasa tersebut. Dari beberapa penelitian (Ara k (2007), Jauhari (2000), Owens (2000), dan Saty- awati (2010), kajian yang berkaitan dengan konstituen nomina belum dikaji. Hasil penelitian sebelumnya lebih banyak difokuskan pada kajian sintaksis secara umum, khususnya pada relasi sintaksis dan valensi Bahasa Bima. Padahal, sesungguhnya sangatlah penting untuk mengamati setiap konstituen bahasa Bima agar dapat mendeskripsikan gramatika bahasa Bima secara bertahap. Untuk tahap awal, dalam penelitian ini akan diamati penominal dalam bahasa Bima. Agar analisis data dapat dilakukan dengan baik, akan digunakan Functional Grammar yang disampaikan oleh Kroeger (2005) dan juga beberapa konsep dari Van Valin dan Dixon. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori tentang Nomina. Dengan harapan, tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui sistem penominal dalam bahasa Bima apakah serupa dengan bahasa Indonesia dapat diketahui. Abstract

This writing entitled ?The Precision and Accuracy of English Verbs Choice in Recount Text Written by The Students of CEC Denpasar: An Analysis of Metalanguage? was conducted in order to be able to find out the percentage of precision and accuracy of English verbs choice in recount text written by the students of CEC Denpasar, analyze the lexico-semantic error, and describe the factors that cause this error. The data in this study were taken directly from recount texts written by the students of CEC Denpasar, interview, and questionnaire. Those data were collected by using a test, interview, and questionnaire method. The theory applied in this writing is Metalanguage from NSM theory proposed by Wierzbicka (1996). However, in describing the error, the analysis was done through configuration only by the qualitative method. The result shows that out of twenty-six verbs, twelve chosen verbs were less precise. Through Metalanguage, those errors can be described configurationally. Moreover, the difference between the error and the recommendation verbs can be explained, therefore, the difference can be shown. There were two factors that cause this error. They are external (teacher, method, strategy, technique used in teaching) and internal (motivation, potency, competence, and learners? language background) factors.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukenali manfaat media pembelajaran film pendek dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan experimental design. Jenis-jenis penelitian eksperimen yang merujuk kepada penelitian ini adalah Quasi Experimental Design dengan menggunakan desain penelitian Time-Series Design (One Group Pretest-posttest) dengan melibatkan sebanyak 271 siswa secara keseluruhan dari kelas A-H di SMP N 1 Payangan. Secara mengkhusus diambil dua kelas, satu kelas untuk kelas control dan satu kelas lainnya untuk kelas eksperimen. Dimana siswa yang terlibat di dalamnya berjumlah 68 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah soal tes untuk pretest  siswa, soal tes untuk posttest   siswa, bahan ajar dari rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran (RPP) dengan beberapa kali pertemuan, pedoman obserbasi siswa, guru dan bahan ajar, dan pedoman kuesioner guru dan siswa. Selain instrumen penelitian tersebut dengan catatan manual guru dan siswa, dan foto kegiatan selama proses kegiatan pembelajaran berlangsung. Metode yang digunakan untuk menganalisis data yang diperoleh, yaitu kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa melalui penerapan media pembelajaran film pendek berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan menulis naskah drama berbahasa Bali siswa. Dari hasil analisis data terlihat bahwa besaranya efektivitas treatment berada pada kategori tinggi. Kata kunci  :   media pembelajaran, film pendek, naskah drama

Abstract

This study aims to explain the contestation of languages on outdoor signboards found in the heritage area of Jalan Gajah Mada in terms of linguistic landscape and how the implementations of government policies for language use in the public space. The heritage area of Jalan Gajah Mada was originally a trading center but recently it is starting to be developed into a tourist attraction of Denpasar old city The study was done by analysing 275 photos of outdoor signboards which were taken along the Jalan Gajah Mada. Those photos were classified based on the type of outdoor signboards, the maker, the number of languages, the number of scripts. The results show that the language that is mostly used in outdoor signboards in this area is Indonesian, eventhough the shops are mostly owned by Chinese descendants and several Indian and Arabian descendants. The study also showed that an outdoor signboard can have one, two, three, or even four languages simultaneously. For those outdoor signboards that use three and four languages, the two of them for sure are Indonesian and English. In accordance with the Regulation of the Governor of Bali Province Number 80 of 2018, especially with the regulation of the use of Balinese and Roman script, the implementation of government policies has not been implemented consistently. The outdoor signboards of government agency names were written exactly following the rules while other outdoor signboards are not.

Abstract

This study concerned with language in written form that is visible as graffiti in the Padang city, Indonesia landscape. The mushroomed of graffiti in Padang city landscapes increasingly has been a growing problem in society. Even local government as the official authority has created some task to prohibit graffiti, but a new graffiti has always been emerging in public space. Therefore graffiti has been considered a crime. It is interesting to explore graffiti in Padang city landscapes from other perspectives, particularly the symbolic functions of graffiti. The study uses qualitative approaches by applying Critical Discourse Analysis. The result shows that graffiti in Padang city landscapes accomplished two principal symbolic functions; first graffiti as a medium of demonstration in which providing space for marginalized expression with the opportunity to voice controversial ideas publically; second graffiti as social critics in which providing input into the public discourse that is not concerned by other conventional media.
