Abstract

Introduction:  Two variants have been described in the literature: a simple oral ranula and the deep diving or plunging ranula. Plunging ranulas arise when a simple ranula extends beyond the floor of the mouth into the neck. A plunging or diving ranula is a rare mucous fluid collection in the submandibular or parapharyngeal space resulting from damage or rupture of one or more ducts of the sublingual gland. An accurate diagnosis and an appropriate treatment plan are fundamental for a successful treatment of ranulas. Regardless of the surgical technique, conservative maneuvers associated with careful clinical monitoring were indispensable for the longevity and success of treatment. Objective: Excision of sublingual and submandibular gland be an option for this case with extraoral approach. Case: A 10-year-old girl presented with a chief complaint of a large swelling of the right submandibular, which had recurred after marsupialization. The clinical diagnosis was plunging ranula. Histopathological examination revealed heterotropia salivary gland with reactive follicular hyperplasia. Result: Histopathology examination reported as heterotopia salivary gland and reactive follicular hyperplasia can be parallel with pathophysiology of this case. The obstruction of salivary gland this patient association with anatomy anomalies or ectopic of the salivary gland. Evaluation post surgery shows no dysfunction of lingual and facial nerve. The treatment was successful with no recurrence was reported. Conclusion: This paper highlights a case report of recurrent plunging ranula was treated with extraoral approach be the method of choice for the success of treatment.

Abstract

Accreditation is an acknowledgment from an accreditation body that an institution maintains a certain level of educational standards. Educational accreditation is a quality assurance process by which services and operating institutions, or educational programs are evaluated and verified by an external body to determine whether recognized and accepted standards are being met. If standards are met, accredited status is granted by the appropriate agency. To prepare for this it is considered important to provide assistance to every school that needs it, as was done by SDN 3 Suralaga. Assistance is carried out for 2 months, from April to May 2022. Assistance is carried out through 4 stages, namely 1) presentation of accreditation instrument material, 2) discussion and assistance on school readiness for accreditation, 3) physical evidence assistance, 4) preparation of physical evidence and 5) evaluation of sensitivity. The results of the assistance show that 1) the physical evidence prepared by each teacher who is given the task as the person in charge is ready and complete and 2) the school is ready for visitation.

Abstract

The uniqueness and cultural diversity of traditional communities as reflected in ideas, activities and artifacts can be studied and used as a source of learning mathematics. Most people view that mathematics is not related to culture or is culturally independent. The development of mathematics in society through cultural activities can be studied through ethnomathematics studies that can bring mathematics closer to student culture. Thus, this study aims to explore the number system and cultural meaning that developed in the Sasak people which can be used as a source of learning mathematics on the island of Lombok. This research is a research with ethnographic method. Research data was collected through observation, literature study, and interviews with cultural practitioners, traditional chief leaders, traditional leaders, Sasak cultural researchers and humanists. The results of this study indicate that the development of the number system has been developing for a long time in the Sasak people. Counting activities (bejinah) use arithmetic operations as is done in general but with local terms, namely total (rombok), less (sedik), times (kali) and divide (bagi). The developing number system is understood as a number in quantitative and qualitative form, in unit or set numbers. There are 5 types of unit or set numbers known by the Sasak people, namely bond units, measuring units for solid objects, measuring units for liquid objects, area units and length units. The mathematical concepts found in the activities of the Sasak people can be used as a source of learning and as a starting point in learning mathematics

Abstract

Arabic language learning often focuses on mastering linguistic aspects without considering the socio-cultural context of learners. This research is motivated by the challenge of integrating Mandar's local cultural values into the content of Arabic reading skills learning. Local culture, such as sirondoi (cooperation), sipakatau (mutual respect), and oral traditions like pappasang, kalindaqdaq, and pau-pau, are Mandar cultural values that can enrich the Arabic language learning process, both linguistically and culturally. The purpose of this research is to 1) describe Mandar local cultural values; 2) explain the opinions of Arabic language experts on the integration of Mandar local cultural values into Arabic reading skills learning; 3) propose the design of thematic content for Arabic reading instruction based on Mandar local cultural values, aiming to help students understand Arabic in a broader cultural context. The method used in this research is educational ethnography with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through direct observation, in-depth interviews with students, lecturers/teachers, and community leaders, and analysis of documents related to Arabic language learning content and the Mandar local culture. The research was conducted on students of the Arabic Language Education Study Program at Datokarama Palu University, lecturers/teachers involved in Arabic language learning, and Mandar community leaders. The results of the research show that (1) Mandar local cultural values such as sirondoi, sipakatau, pappasang, kalindaqdaq, and pau-pau can be integrated into the content of Arabic reading skills learning; (2) Arabic language experts/observers believe that these values can be applied in the classroom to encourage students to work together in learning groups, respect each other in communication, both orally and in writing; (3) The design based on these local cultural values can be embedded into Arabic reading instruction content into Arabic reading skills learning. The theoretical conclusion is that integrating Mandar's local cultural values into the content of Arabic reading skills instruction can be offered as a design in Arabic language learning that aims for students to understand language in a broader cultural context, more relevant and meaningful.

Abstract

This study aims to cluster and visualize the earthquake data on a geographical map to determine earthquakes' characteristics using the k-means algorithm. Cluster analysis using the k-means algorithm was carried out on the earthquake data. K-means algorithm is familiar and is one of the well-known techniques to have been applied in cluster analysis. One of Its advantages in cluster analysis is scaling large datasets, for example, earthquake data. The data used in this study is earthquake data in the West Nusa Tenggara from 1991 to 2021. Applying the proposed k-means algorithm, the optimal number of clusters (k) used in this clustering is 2, based on the highest silhouette score of 0.749. The cluster analysis on the geographical map showed that the epicenters of the earthquakes were pretty spread out before 2018, and the number of earthquakes in the eastern region of West Nusa Tenggara is more than in the western area. However, in 2018, the clusters were all bunched in the northern Lombok region. There were a few earthquakes in the west region in 2018, but they happened before August 5. Even after 2019, most earthquakes continue to occur, with the epicenters clustered close to the northern Lombok region

Abstract

Farmers in Rahabite, Toari District, have historically operated individually, thereby encountering typical agricultural constraints, particularly diminished bargaining power in product marketing and limited access to information. The primary objective of this Community Service (PkM) activity was to facilitate the establishment of a functional and independent Farmers' Business Group (Kelompok Usaha Tani or KUT). The implementation method employed a structured participatory approach, aligned with a pre-designed activity matrix. The PkM stages comprised: (1) Preparation, involving observation, interviews, and coordination with village officials; (2) Implementation, encompassing socialization regarding the importance of collective action, facilitation of deliberations for KUT formation, board election, and the drafting of Articles of Association/Bylaws (AD/ART); and (3) Post-Implementation, consisting of initial mentoring and evaluation. The results demonstrated a 100% success rate based on established indicators: the establishment of KUT "Tani Mekar Jaya and Wanita Tani Naga," the election of a core management structure (Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer), and the ratification of the AD/ART as the operational foundation. Farmer participation in the deliberations reached 85%, exceeding the target of 70%. Theoretical analysis utilizing the Institutional Theory framework indicates that this PkM successfully triggered three isomorphism mechanisms: (1) Mimetic Isomorphism through the socialization of case studies; (2) Normative Isomorphism via the professional guidance of the PkM team; and (3) Coercive Isomorphism through the adoption of binding AD/ART. Conclusively, this activity successfully transformed a collection of individual farmers into a formal institutional entity prepared for operation.
