The third is to conduct direct observation at the research location by observing the service process carried out by restaurant waiters at Amber Beach Resort Lombok and the use of language transfer while providing services to restaurant guests. Based on the results of the discussion above, it can be concluded that the researcher found four factors involved in code switching among waiter/waitress at the amber restaurant, the four factors are Participants (greeters - receivers), setting, topic, and function. The four factors are relevant to the theory that has been described previously with real activities at amber resort. It is indicated that the participants come from the same work area and the same situation, code-switching occurs at amber resort among waiters and managers with specific topics about restaurant and hotel management, and they use code-switching to say repetition and clarification, give and emphasis about something (to express solidarity), express tolerance to show the intention of clarifying the speech content for the interlocutor and to refine or strengthen requests or orders

Abstract

There was a phenomenon where the KPK Law rules were the consequence of the KPK Law modification where all KPK personnel from superiors to employees had to become ASN as of November 1, 2021, however, there were some abnormalities where KPK chairman Firil Bahuri attended the National Insight Test which leads to the dismissal of competent senior KPK employees and is currently handling crucial cases. This study attempts to determine how the two major Indonesian media, Republika and Tempo, produce discourse. In this case, it will be examined how Republika and Tempo portray the KPK. A methodological and theoretical approach is used in this study procedure. To see the theoretical analysis of Fairclough's critical discourse, the descriptive analysis methodological technique was adopted. The present discourse is examined via three lenses: (a) textual dimension, (b) discursive dimension, and (c) sociocultural dimension. According to the findings of the research from the three Fairclgh study items, Republika has a negative image of the KPK, whereas Tempo has a positive image of the KPK.

Abstract

This study explores the acceptance of religious moderation policies among university students in Indonesia, focusing on its implementation in UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung and UIN Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin Banten. Using a mixed-methods approach, the research combines quantitative surveys (N=382) and qualitative interviews with students and faculty. The quantitative data analyze multiple dimensions, including trust in institutions, satisfaction with implementation, perceived benefits, legitimacy, transparency, and equity. The qualitative findings provide contextual insights into challenges such as lack of flexibility and limited information access. Results show that while students generally support religious moderation policies due to their alignment with religious and cultural values, there are notable gaps in transparency and flexibility. The findings align with policy acceptance theories, suggesting that trust in institutions, tangible benefits, and inclusive engagement significantly enhance acceptance. The study concludes with recommendations for improving policy outreach and contextual relevance to foster wider acceptance among students.

Abstract

This article reviews Ad-Dakhil fi Tafsir al-Qur’an al-Karim, a book by Abdul Wahab Fayd that discusses the discourse on deviations in the interpretation of the Qur’an. The focus of this review lies in three key aspects found in volume two, chapter two of the book. First, the aspect of linguistic meaning; second, the rules of Arabic grammar (nahwu); and third, the aspect of Qur’anic recitation (qira’ah). These three aspects serve as a foundation, indicating that Qur’anic interpretation based on linguistics heavily relies on an understanding of these limitations. The book highlights the significant impact of neglecting these elements, particularly the growing superficiality in linguistic interpretation today. This study seeks to answer several questions: what limitations lead to disorientation in linguistic interpretation, what forms of deviation exist, and what constitutes a proper linguistic interpretation. The approach employed is historical, using content analysis as the analytical framework.

Abstract

High school students are in the adolescent phase of development. During this phase, one of the most important developmental tasks is planning for their future careers. However, the career planning process is often influenced by various environmental factors, one of which is peer conformity. This study aims to examine the relationship between peer conformity and students' career planning. The research employed a quantitative correlational approach, with a sample of 238 students drawn from a total population of 654 students in Grade X Phase E and Grade XI Phase F at SMA Negeri 13 Padang, selected using stratified random sampling. Data were collected using Likert-scale instruments to measure peer conformity and career planning, both of which were developed and tested for validity and reliability. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation with SPSS 25.0. The results revealed that both peer conformity and students' career planning were categorized as high. A strong and significant positive relationship was found between peer conformity and career planning (r = 0.678; p < 0.01). The implication is that school guidance and counseling services can utilize peer group interactions as a strategy to enhance the effectiveness of students' career planning.
