Abstract

Antibiotic resistance is a growing global health problem caused by the irrational use of antibiotics in humans, animals, and the environment. The high prevalence of infectious diseases, low public awareness, and inappropriate antibiotic use practices contribute to the emergence of resistant microorganisms, which can reduce treatment effectiveness and increase morbidity and mortality rates. This community service activity aimed to improve students’ knowledge and awareness of the importance of rational antibiotic use and the dangers of antibiotic resistance. The activity employed an educational counseling method and was conducted among 11th-grade students at SMAN 18 Jakarta using a pre-test and post-test design. A total of 60 students participated in the educational session delivered through presentations and interactive discussions. The evaluation instrument consisted of 10 multiple-choice questions to assess knowledge levels before and after the intervention. The results showed a significant increase in knowledge, with the average score rising from 71% in the pre-test to 88% in the post-test. This improvement indicates that the educational intervention was effective in enhancing students’ understanding of antibiotic resistance and the prevention of antibiotic misuse. This educational activity is expected to contribute to reducing antibiotic resistance in the community.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate AVK (Audio, Visual, Kinesthetic) Game Models based on Technology and Local Wisdom to improve the physical fitness of children aged 6-12 years. The research was carried out for one year using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) development model. The analysisstage involved identifying learning needs, dominant learning styles, and the physical fitness conditions of children through observations, interviews, and surveys involving 100 student participants. The design and development stage resulted in four interactive games that integrate physical movement, audio-visual media, and elements of South Sumatra local culture, namely Musi Fort, Palace Jump Rope, Sriwijaya Hide and Seek, and Belida Fish Catch. The design and development stage produced four interactive games that combine physical movement, audio-visual media, and elements of local South Sumatra culture: Musi Fort, Palace Jump Rope Jump, Sriwijaya Hide and Seek, and Belida Fish Catch. The implementation of the model was carried out on 60 students (consisted of 30 males and 30 females), with pretest and posttest measurements of physical fitness using TKSI instruments, as well as observation of student involvement and response. The evaluation stage was conducted after implementation by comparing pre-test and post-test results, supported by observations and questionnaires on students’ and teachers’ responses, with the evaluation results serving as the basis for drawing conclusions regarding the effectiveness and feasibility of the model in elementary school Physical Education learning. The results of the statistical analysis using a paired-sample t-test showed a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores (p < 0.05). The results showed significant improvements in various aspects of physical fitness, namely flexibility (10%), muscle endurance (8%), coordination (10%), agility (8%), and cardiopulmonary endurance (9%). In addition, 91% of students showed a positive response to this learning model, and teachers considered this media to be effective and support the integration of local wisdom values. In conclusion, the AVK Game Model based on Technology and Local Wisdom has been proven to be effective in improving physical fitness, motivating students’ active participation, and strengthening appreciation for local culture. This model deserves to be used as an innovative alternative in Physical Education learning in elementary schools, which brings together technology, multiple intelligences, and local wisdom values in a fun and contextual way.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze potential Drug-Drug Interactions (pDDIs) in hypertensive patients at the Wanasari Primary Health Care, Bekasi Regency. Hypertension is a chronic disease with a high prevalence that often requires combination therapy, thus increasing the risk of drug interactions. This study used an analytical observational design with a retrospective approach to prescription data for hypertensive patients for the period August 2025. The sampling technique used was total sampling with a sample size of 82 patients who met the inclusion criteria. Identification of drug interactions was carried out using standard drug interaction references and classified based on pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic mechanisms, as well as minor, moderate, and major severity levels. The results showed that there were 105 potential drug interaction events with an average of 1.28 interactions per patient. Most interactions were categorized as moderate (86.6%) and dominated by pharmacodynamic mechanisms (55.2%). The most frequently found combination was amlodipine-dexamethasone (27%), while the most major interactions occurred in the combination of amlodipine-simvastatin (8%). Fisher's exact test showed no significant association between the number of medications and the drug interaction category (p > 0.05). This finding underscores the important role of pharmacists in prescription screening and therapy monitoring to improve medication safety in primary healthcare.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the demographic characteristics, description of potential drug interactions, and the relationship between demographics and number of drugs with potential drug interactions in patients with Type-2 Diabetes Mellitus in the Outpatient Installation of Jakarta Islamic Hospital Cempaka Putih. This study is an analytical observational study with a retrospective cross-sectional design with a total sampling of 200 prescriptions from January-March 2025. The sampling technique used total sampling, so that all prescriptions that met the research criteria were included as samples. Identification of interactions was carried out theoretically using the medscape drug interaction checker and drugs.com interactions checker, then analyzed descriptively and Chi-Square test with a 95% confidence level (α = 0.05). The results showed that patients were predominantly aged 56-65 years (44.5%) and >65 years (32.5%) with a relatively balanced gender distribution. Potential drug interactions were found in 61.0% of prescriptions, with moderate interactions (84.2%), major (10.5%), and minor (5.3%) predominating in severity. The most common type of interaction was pharmacodynamic (54.4%). Statistical tests showed that age (p=0.542) and gender (p>0.05) were not significantly associated with potential drug interactions, while the number of medications in the prescription was significantly associated (p<0.05). Thus, the potential for drug interactions in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus is more influenced by the complexity and number of medications used than demographic factors.
