Abstract

In the bioethanol production process of waste generated that is equal to 90% of the fermentation solution. With the vast amount of waste is the waste treatment process becomes very important, one of which is to process into livestock woof. The solid bioethanol waste containing cyanide (HCN) 5.8177 mg/kg, water 95.21%, ash 0.39%, protein 8.16%, crude fiber 5.45%, crude fat 2.06%, and carbohydrates 83,94%. The processing solid bioethanol waste into livestock woof can be done by utilizing the existing fungi on solid bioethanol waste. Crude fiber (cellulose) and carbohydrates are a source of cellulolytic fungal. Cellulolytic fungi can degrade the role of organic materials contained in solid into bioethanol waste so that the source of highly nutritious livestock woof. This study aims to determine the types of mold and fungi cellulolytic isolates contained in solid bioethanol waste the potentially in processing bioethanol waste into livestock woof. The research was conducted using the descriptive analysis method. The medium used for culturing the fungus and isolate the medium Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA). Fungal isolation conducted by using dilution series and pour plate method and identification with the Moist Chamber method. To find out cellulolytic fungi using selective medium Carboxy Methyl Cellulose (CMC) and identification of fungi made to genus level based on macroscopic and microscopic characterization. In this study obtained 10 isolates of the fungus from the genus Aspergillus sp 1, Aspergillus sp 2, Aspergillus sp 3, Aspergillus niger, Cladosporium sp, Mucor sp, Penicillium sp 1, Penicillium sp 2, Rhizopus sp and Trichoderma viride. The results of cellulase enzyme activity assay showed that 9 from 10 isolates of the fungus has the capability of cellulose degradation. Isolates that largest produce the enzyme cellulase is Trichoderma viride, Penicillium sp 1, Cladosporium spand Aspergillus niger.

Abstract

Upaya penggunaan bahan bakar nabati atau yang sering disebut bioetanol sebagai pengganti bahan bakar minyak fosil sedang ditingkatkan. Selain lebih ramah lingkungan, mampu diproduksi secara terus menerus, juga bahan yang digunakan untuk membuat bioetanol sangat banyak terdapat di alam termasuk bermacammacam limbah. Salah satu bahan baku pembuatan bioetanol yang sudah banyak digunakan adalah singkong. Proses pembuatan bioetanol menghasilkan limbah baik padat ataupun cair. Keberadaan limbah padat bioetanol biasanya dimanfaatkan untuk pakan ternak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kandungan protein dan menurunkan serat kasar limbah padat bioetanol sehingga bisa dijadikan pakan yang lebih baik untuk pertumbuhan hewan ternak. Limbah bioetanol difermentasi dengan EM4 (Effective Microorganisms 4). Rancangan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap pada faktorial 5 x 2 dengan 5 kali pengulangan. Faktor pertama adalah perlakuan EM-4, yaitu A=0%, B=0.25%, C=0.5%, D=0.75%, dan E=1%. Masing-masing unit percobaan menggunakan 250 g sampel limbah. Faktor kedua adalah lamanya fermentasi yaitu selama 4 hari dan 8 hari.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan terbaik yaitu penambahan EM-4 sebanyak 1% yang difermentasi selama 4 hari adalah yang terbaik, dengan kandungan protein 3.53% dan kandungan serat kasar 13.19%.

Abstract

This research was aimed to investigate the effect of concentrate substitution with cassava plantation waste supplemented with cobalt and zinc in sheep ration. In vitro study was used in this experiment. Collected data were analyzed by Duncan’s test from Completely Randomized Design with four treatments and four replications. The experiment rations were R1 = 50% native grass + 50% concentrate, R2 = 50% native grass + 50% concentrate + 5 ppm cobalt + 30 ppm zinc, R3 = 50% native grass + 50% cassava plantation waste, R4 = 50% native grass + 50% cassava plantation waste + 5 ppm cobalt + 30 ppm zinc. The results showed that utilization of concentrate increased volatile fatty acid and N-NH3 concentration, and digestibility of dry and organic matter compared with cassava plantation waste. Volatile fatty acid and N-NH3 in sheep ration containing cassava plantation waste were still in normal range with dry and organic matter digestibility were up to 50%, but supplementation of cobalt and zinc had the same effect (P>0.05). It is concluded that cassava plantation waste can be used as sheep feed, but did not substitute concentrate. Supplementation of cobalt and zinc was not effective to improve fermentability and digestibility of cassava plantation waste.(Key words: Cassava plantation waste, Digestibility, In vitro, N-NH3, Sheep, Volatile fatty acid)

Abstract

Concentrate was used to improve rice straw-based rations of dairy cows. Rejected foods can be used to formulate concentrate but it can contain unwanted materials. This research aimed to know the best of fermentation time and rations formulation. Research phase 1 was  to observe nutrient and energy contents of concentrate fermented by Saccharomyces cerevisiae and  EM-4 at 0, 3, and 6 days. Phase 2 was to evaluate the use of the best fermented concentrate of  the phase 1 to be used in the ration on in vitro rumen degradability using treatments as follows: 1) 50%  rice straws + 50% concentrate, 2) 50% rice straws + 25 concentrate + 25% fermented concentrate, 3) 50% rice straws + 50% fermented concentrate. This study used completely randomized design and the collected data were analyzed by Contrast Orthogonal test. The results showed that crude protein (CP) increased but crude fiber (CF) and bruto energy decreased due to concentrate fermentation. A 3 day fermentation resulted in the highest (P<0.05) CP (14.48%) and the lowest CF (17.01%). The use of fermented concentrate at 50% in the ration resulted in the highest (P<0.05) digestibility of dry matter (63.68%) and organic matter (58.70%). It can be concluded that concentrate fermentation at 3 days by Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Effective Microorganisms-4 (EM-4) was the best treatments. Its use in rice straws-based rations of dairy cows at 50% and result in the highest digestibility of dry matter and organic matter.

Abstract

The experiments aimed to study about the performance and diet digestibility of male Garut lamb were a diet containing  Ipomea reptans seeds. Twenty two Garut sheeps at the age of 6-8 months with an average body weight of 16.17±1.33 kg were divided into four diet treatments containing 0%, 10%, 20%, and 30% Ipomea reptans seed and maintained for 10 weeks to measure the performance and digestibility of the diet. The study was conducted experimentally and the data collected and tested by Duncan’s test. The results showed that the use of Ipomea reptans seeds up to 30% increased (P<0.05) feed intake, average daily gain, dry and organic matter digestibility, but it had no effect on feed conversion. In Conclusion, the use of Ipomea reptans seed up to 30% yielded the best performance and diet digestibility and produced the same quality of diet.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji penggunaan limbah singkong sebagai pakan domba. Daun, batang, kulit singkong dan CDBK,masing-masing diulang 5 kali dan didesian dengan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis dengan uji Duncan. Hasil menunjukan bahwa CDBK menghasilkan produksi asam lemak terbang (ALT) dan NH3 sebesar 129,9 dan 6,47 mM, serta nyata lebih tinggi (P<0,05) dibandingkan dengan daun, batangdan kulit singkong. Di pihak lain, kecernaan bahan kering (KcBK) tertinggi (P<0,05) diperoleh padakulit singkong, yaitu 64,92. Potensial hidrogen (pH) untuk semua perlakuan menghasilkan nilai yang sama (P>0,05) dengan kisaran 6,97-6,99. Kesimpulan, campuran daun, batang, dan kulit singkong paling baik digunakan sebagai pakan domba.

Abstract

Motivasi merupakan sebuah bentuk dorongan dari dalam seseorang atau individu untuk melakukan sesuatu tindakan atau perbuatan. Begitu juga halnya dalam beternak sapi, petani memilih beternak dengan dasar atau dorongan dari dalam individu masing-masing. Pengabdian bertujuan untuk  mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh motivasi dalam meningkatkan regenerasi peternak sapi perah di kalangan siswa SMKN 5 Pangalengan. Pengabdian ini dilakukan melalui tahapan-tahapan kegiatan diantaranya observasi lapangan, studi literatur, penyuluhan dan demonstrasi. Penyuluhan telah dilakukan di Kecamatan pangalengan, Kabupaten Bandung yang dihadiri oleh 300 siswa baik laki-laki maupun perempuan yang terdiri atas berbagai tingkatan kelas yaitu kelas X dan XII lalu dilanjutkan dengan demonstrasi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa motivasi mempengaruhi minat yang tinggi sebagai upaya regenerasi untuk menjadi peternak sapi perah di kalangan siswa SMKN 5 Pangalengan. Kesimpulan bahwa penyuluhan dapat meningkatkan motivasi di kalangan siswa SMKN 5 Pangalengan untuk menjadi peternak sapi perah agar kebutuhan masyarakat terutama sumbangan protein hewani tetap tercukupi.Kata kunci : motivasi, regenerasi, peternak sapi perah, siswa SMKN 5 Pangalengan

Abstract

Mikroenkapsulasi dibuat untuk melindungi minyak ikan dari biohidrogenasi oleh mikroba rumen. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mempelajari dampak penggunaan mikroenkapsulasi minyak ikan terhadap fermentabilitas dalam rumen dan kecernaan ransum (in vitro). Empat jenis ransum percobaan mengandung mikroenkapsulasi minyak ikan sebanyak 0%, 2,5%, 5%, dan 7,5% dievaluasi fermentabilitas dan kecernaan secara in vitro. Penelitian menggunaan rancangan acak lengkap terdiri atas 4 perlakuan dengan 5 ulangan, lalu data yang dihasilkan diuji dengan analisis Duncan. Hasil menunjukan bahwa perlakuan mempengaruhi (P<0,05) konsentrasi asam lemak terbang, ammonia (N-NH3), produksi gas dan kecernaan bahan kering. Penggunaan mikroenkapsulasi minyak ikan menurunkan N-NH3, sedangkan asam lemak terbang meningkat (P<0,05) pada penggunaan 2,5% namun setelah itu menurun nyata (P<0,05) meskipun demikian N-NH3 dan asam lemak terbang masih dalam kisaran yang dapat menumbuhkan mikroba rumen. Produksi gas dan kecernaan bahan kering memiliki pola yang sama yang mengalami peningkatan sampai perlakuan penggunaan 5% dan setelah itu menurun nyata (P<0,05). Penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan mikroenkapsulasi minyak ikan 5% memberikan hasil terbaik terhadap fermentabilitas dalam rumen dan kecernaan bahan kering ransum in vitro

Abstract

Cassava processing into bioethanol potentially generates waste as animal feed, but the content of nutrients is still low. This research aims to discover effect of urea and sulfur addition in solid waste bioethanol fermented by EM-4 on contents of crude protein and fiber. The research used the experimental methods with completely randomized design, factorial pattern 3 × 3 with 3 time of replicates. The first factor, supplementation of Nitrogen is Urea (N1=0%, N2=1,5%, N3=3%) and the second factor is supplementation of sulfur (S1=0%, S2=0,02%, S3=0,04%). Based on the results of variance analysis showed that there is an interaction between urea with sulfur on content of protein crude, but not on fiber crude. Addition of each urea and sulfur showed that the content of crude protein was increased (P<0,05) and the level of crude fiber (P<0,05) was decreased. Fermentation along 4 day on treatment of urea 3% and sulfur 0,04% produce crude protein and fiber of 14,44% and 6,97%, respectively. Conclusion, addition of urea 3% and sulfur 0,04% give the good results.Keywords: Bioethanol, EM-4 (Efective Microorganisms4), Crude Protein, Crude Fiber, Sulfur and Urea

Abstract

The evaluation of digested protein and total digestible nutrient  in rations containing melinjo peels could be done using several prediction models, but testing was needed to determine the level of accuracy. This study aimed to evaluate the accuracy of the prediction formula for protein digestibility and total digestible nutrient from rations containing melinjo peels of 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%. Sixteen local ewes aged 11-12 monts with an initial body weight of 22.56 ± 1.46 kg were used to evaluate the value of digested protein and total digestible nutrient. The observational data were used to calculate the ratio of prediction to deviation value in assessing the accuracy of various prediction models for digested protein, namely Wardeh (1981) and Knight's and Harris (1966) models, while total digestible nutrient, namely Sutardi (2001), Wardeh (1981), and Harris et al. (1972) models. Wardeh (1981) and Knight and Harris’s (1966) digestible protein model, yielded ratio of prediction to deviation values of 3.28 and 3.37, respectively. Meanwhile, the ratio of prediction to deviation value on total digestible nutrient respectively from the highest value was Sutardi (2001), Wardeh (1981), and Harris et al. (1972) of 4.57, 3.68 and 1.91. In conclusion, Knight and Harris's (1966) digestible protein and Sutardi's (2001) total digestible nutrient model were the most accurate.
