Abstract

The sharia banking main characteristics provide alternative systems by which banks and customers share profits with specific emphasis on fair treatment, ethical investments, and kinship relationship in the production process and avoidance of speculation. Measuring sharia banking performance by applying CAMELS is considered weak in describing non-financial aspects, which shows sharia ethics and the spirituality of sharia banking. Therefore, the ANGELS method can be considered as an alternative one in assessing sharia banking performance. This research applies Bayani, Burhan, and infant epistemological approaches. The result shows that the implementation of sharia principles in sharia banking practice in Makassar still need sharia literacy awareness among sharia banking practitioners since sharia banking is a potential market in the future.

Abstract

The increase in research on local economic practices is not accompanied by theoretical analysis. This study explores people's behaviour in choosing partnership systems (Teseng) by analyzing the theory of planned behaviour. Therefore, this research implies that it is an instrument for measuring local economic practices from the perspective of the theory of planned behaviour. The methodology used was phenomenology with data from the Batukaropa village community, Bulukumba Regency, Indonesia. The results show that attitude toward a behaviour is indicated by a perspective of helping and strengthening kinship. Meanwhile, subjective norms consist of the perception that teseng is part of the social culture of society, and the practice of teseng reflects social status. Perceived behaviour control based on the practice of teseng is more flexible and effective than the procedures for applying venture capital in Islamic banking.

Abstract

Abstract

The crisis of confidence in the credit rating agency forced Islamic financing institutions to apply risk measurement methods independently and renewed the study of credit risk measurement. Moreover, this research also discusses mashlaha (public interest) in measuring financing risk. This research uses a mixed method approach, combining quantitative methods to measure risk by utilizing CreditRisk+, and qualitative methods in analyzing mashlaha in these measurements. This study revealed that CreditRisk+ is able to measure financing risk accurately. This study also found that there is mashlaha as part of maqashid al-sharia in risk measurement, namely 1) Tahdzib al-Fard, that makes a financial institution capable of independently measuring the risk of its own financing; 2) Iqamah al-Adl, independent measurement will create information justice by comparing measurement results both internally and externally. 3) Mashlaha itself, with internal risk measurement, will reduce systemic risk. The implications of this study is the use of mashlaha in analyzing financing risk provides more stringent prudential in the measurement of financing risk.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the dynamics of interdependence between sharia assets, namely the Indonesian Sharia Stock Index (ISSI) and sukuk, with Indonesian macroeconomic variables using the Vector Autoregression (VAR) approach. The macroeconomic variables analyzed include the BI exchange rate, BI Rate, inflation, export value, money supply (M2), gold price, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil price, and the Industrial Production Index (IPI). The data used is a monthly time series for the period July 2011–December 2024 with a sample of 160 observations. The results of the stability test indicate that the VAR(1) model used is stable and suitable for further analysis. The Granger causality test indicates that most variables do not have a significant causal relationship, except for the exchange rate (KURS) which is proven to affect almost all other variables. The Impulse Response Function (IRF) test shows that most shocks to the ISSI, inflation, M2, gold, and WTI variables do not generate significant responses to other variables, while sukuk shows a positive response to shocks from the BI Rate, KURS, and IPI in the short term These findings emphasize the importance of strengthening Islamic financial instruments and exchange rate stability in supporting the integration of Islamic financial markets with the national macroeconomic system.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of sharia marketing strategies at PT. Yotta Berkah Mulia by utilizing SWOT analysis as a strategic evaluation tool. The research adopted a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The findings show that PT. Yotta Berkah Mulia has successfully applied the four fundamental characteristics of sharia marketing, namely Theistic (Rabbaniyyah), Ethical (Akhlaqiyyah), Realistic (Al-Waqi’iyyah), and Humanistic (Al-Insaniyyah), in its marketing activities. The SWOT analysis was conducted to identify the company’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Based on the results of the IFAS and EFAS matrices, the company is positioned in Quadrant II, indicating that it possesses strong internal capabilities despite facing several external challenges and threats. This position suggests that a diversification strategy is the most appropriate approach to maintain competitiveness and support future business growth. Furthermore, the results of this study are expected to contribute to the development of sharia-based marketing practices and serve as a reference for MSMEs in formulating more effective, adaptive, and sustainable marketing strategies.
