Abstract

Teachers understanding of the diversity of student learning styles in a classroom can improve the quality of learning. Therefore, research has been done and physics learning tools based on student learning style have been developed successfully. The aim of this study is to produce the valid of physics learning devices based on student learning style of temperature and heat material at X SMA. The device development method used Research and Development (R & D) method. The Steps of R & D methods start from identifying potentials and problems, collecting data, product design, design validation by the professor of research methodologies, design revisions and final product trials. The validation result of the learning device validity instrument is the source of the research data. The percentage of validation results of RPP, LKS, media, and test of learning result in sequence was 88.14%; 75.50%; 87.24%; and 89.09% The percentage of such validation results is categorized as very high with an average score of 83.99%. The average number indicates that the developed learning device is valid.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to assess the effectiveness of student solving abilities through the use of project-based learning.This study has used quasi experiments with the design of nonequivalent control group design.Instruments of the study using a student-solving ability test consisting of pretest and posttest, were analyzed using a quantitative approach. Inferential analysis using independent-sample t-test has shown that there is a significant difference in students ability to solve between the treatment class and the control class. It can thus be concluded that the use of project-based learning can improve student solving abilities on static fluid topics.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the practicality of a twisting modulus of elasticity experimental device along with student worksheets as a medium of learning physics. The method used as a Research and Development (R & D) with Borg and Galls development model at the stage of preliminary test called a test of practicality. Descriptive analysis of the data obtained by filling the questionnaire score an average yield of every aspect the practicality of using a Likert scale ratings. The results showed that the assessment teachersof experimental device about the shear modulus obtained 3.67 is very high category and 3,77 is high by student. The Results of research on student worksheet as an experimental using obtained 3.77 and 3.30 with very high category by teachers and students. So it can be concluded that the experimental device and student worksheet is practical as a medium of learning physics

Abstract

Abstract: This research was aimed to describe the level of sains process skill at the second year students of IPA program of SMA 9 Pekanbaru. This research was a survey research. The result of the data analysis used descriptive analysis which described the level of student’s sains process skill. The subject of this research was 109 students of IPA program at the second year. The data gotten from this research was in average percentages of the mastering of science process skills with indikator observing, classifying, interpreting, predicting, asking question, hypotheses, planning the experiment, apply the concept, and communicate. The data analysis result show that the average percentages of each indikators as follows: 83,49% for observing skills, 80,73% for classification skills, 63.00% for interpreting skills, 88,99% for prediction skills, 54,13% for skills of asking questions, 13,76% for hypothetical skills, 65,14% for skill of planning the experiment, 62,39% for skills applying concepts, and 74,01% for communication skills. The overall percentages of the students’ process science skill is 65,07% categorized good. It prove that the mostering of the science process skill of students is be usually higher.Key words: Science Process Skills

Abstract

Abstract : This study aims to describe the self directed learning of students in physics through the application of Quantum Learning model on the dynamic electricity subject. This type of research is pre-experiment research using one group pre-test post-test design. The participants are the students of XII class SMAN 8 Indragiri Hulu with the number of 24 people. The pre-exeriment research instrument use self directed learning ability questionnaires. Descriptive analysis technique is used as data analysis technique. The results showed that the initial level of self directed learning ability of the students was at score 2.60 and after application of Quantum Learning model was at score 2.70. This study concludes that the Quantum Learning model increase the independence of physics learning on the dynamic electricity subject.Keywords : Quantum Learning, Self Directed Learning Ability, Dynamic Electricity

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the learning difficulties of class X students of SMAN in Limapuluh Pekanbaru. In this study, the population was all students of class X IPA of SMAN in Limapuluh Pekanbaru. The sample was taken by simple random sampling so that a sample of 72 students was obtained. The instrument of this study is in the form of diagnostic test (multiple choice four-tier) which are arranged based on the syllabus and the main concepts on material momentum and impulses. Data is collected by giving a diagnostic test to the sample. Data analysis in this study uses descriptive analysis with percentage techniques, which provide an overview of student learning difficulties. The results of this study provide information that the percentage of the average learning difficulties of senior high school students in Limapuluh Pekanbaru material momentum and the impulse of the concept of understanding the concept of 13.80% (low), the category of understanding the concept of partially 37.07% (moderate), category of misconception 44.97% (moderate) and the category does not understand the concept of 4.17% (low).Key Words: Learning Difficulties, Diagnostic Tests, Momentum And Impulses

Abstract

Abstract: This study aimed to describe the cognitive learning science through the cognitive learning outcames of physics science through the implementation of playing answer cooperative learning model on the expantion matter in junior high school. The type of research is quasi-experimental, with a comparison group design intact. The sample in this study is VII.3 class with 36 students is class which in implementation with playing answer cooperative learning model, and VII.4 class with 36 students that conventional learning classes. The data in this study were analyzed descriptively. Based on the result of cognitive learning of students in the class implementation of cooperative learning to play the answers are in the good category with persentse 75.37%, whereas in the conventional classroom learning cognitive the category quite well with the percentage of 66.48%. It can be concluded that science teaching physics with cooperative learning to play the answers can improve cognitive achievement of students in the material expansion in SMPN 34 Pekanbaru.Keywords: Learning Outcomes, Cooperative Play Answers, Swelling

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to describe and differentiate the learning motivation physics science between the implementation of cooperative learning type round table group with conventional learning group. This type of research is a quasi-experimental, with a nonequivalent control group design. Population in this research is all of X classes with 148 students. Meanwhile the samples are 30 students in X MIA 2 as control class and 28 students in X MIA 5 as experiment class. The instrument of data in this research is a ARCS  motivation questionnaire. Analysis of the data in this study was a descriptive analysis that was used to view the category motivation to learning physics science with use n-gain formula. The analysis data shows n-gain of students motivation to learning physics science of the control class is 0.18 with low category and n-gain of the experiment class is 0.34 with medium category. Meanwhile n-gain for each indicator motivation to learning physics science of the control class is 0.19 with low category and n-gain of the experiment class is 0.35 with medium category. Therefore, it can be concluded that implementation of cooperative learning type round table can be used as an alternative in the learning process in the classroom X MAN 1 Pekanbaru.

Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this research is to describe the learning motivation of physics science with implementation of Pictorial Riddle. This type of research is a quasi-experimental, with a one-shot case study design. Samples in this research is all student of VIII B classes with total of 25 students. The instrument of data in this research is a ARCS motivation questionnaire. Analysis of the data in this study was a descriptive analysis that was used to view the category maotivation on learning physics science with the of use keller motivation formula. The analysis data shows score of students motivation are 5,33 with good category. Therefore, it can be concluded that implementation of Pictorial Riddle Learn Method can be used as an alternative method in the learning process in the classroom VIII SMP Beer Seba Pekanbaru.Keywords: ARCS motivation, light reflection, pictorial riddle.

Abstract

Abstrak: Project-based science LKPD is a teaching material that is able to provide details and clear guidance to students in order to carry out project tasks effectively and efficiently. The research objective is to develop a valid and practical project-based LKPD on GLB and GLBB materials for VIII SMP grade . The study was conducted through the validation stage 2 times. The first validation was conducted by 3 lecturers majoring in Mathematics and Natural Sciences FKIP Riau University namely Physics, Biology and Chemistry as well as 2 experienced junior high school science teachers. The second validation was conducted by 2 science teachers in class VIII of SMP Negeri 8 Pekanbaru. Furthermore, a limited test was carried out on 40 students of class VIII of SMP Negeri 8 Pekanbaru. Research instruments in the form of validation sheets, questionnaire responses of teachers and students. Analysis of research data using quantitative descriptive analysis by calculating the index of each indicator used to determine the validity and practicality of the developed LKPD. The results of the study concluded that the project-based LKPD developed on GLB and GLBB material was valid and practical and could be used in learning to support the teaching and learning process so that it became better.Keywords: LKPD, Project Based, GLB and GLBB
