Abstract

[ Antibacterial Herbal Tea of Patikan Cina Extract Plant, (Euphorbia thymifolia Linn.) ] Tumbuhan patikan cina (Euphorbia thymifolia Linn.) sudah sejak lama dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat di pedesaan secara tradisional sebagai obat dan telah terbukti memiliki khasiat untuk pengobatan berbagai jenis penyakit, diantaranya diare dan disentri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan teh herbal Patikan Cina yang berkhasiat sebagai antibakteri terhadap Escherichia coli dan Shigella dysenteriae sebagai minuman fungsional untuk pengobatan penyakit diare dan disentri. Pembuatan teh herbal patikan cina dilakukan dengan mencampur filtrat patikan cina dan daun stevia (70:30, 80:20, 90:10 v/v) kemudian ditambahkan filtrat daun jambu biji (0%, 2,5%, 5%, dan 7,5%). Kemudian diaduk hingga homogen. Sehingga diperoleh 12 formula minuman teh herbal patikan cina. Metode penelitian dilakukan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dan tiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak 3 kali. Penentuan teh herbal terbaik dipilih dengan pembobotan secara subyektif. Teh herbal terbaik yang terpilih dari campuran patikan cina, daun stevia, dan daun jambu biji adalah teh herbal dengan komposisi formulasi patikan cina 70%; stevia 30%; tanpa penambahan daun jambu biji. Produk teh herbal terbaik yang terpilih memiliki pH 5,02; kadar sari 0,5%; serta mampu menghambat E.coli 0,15 mm dan S.dysentriae 8,22 mm.

Abstract

Pelatihan mengenai Learning Management System (LMS) seperti Moodle, Google Classroom, dan Google Site bagi guru Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) di Kabupaten Kerinci bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru dalam pengelolaan kelas secara digital sebagai upaya implementasi pembelajaran abad 21. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan melalui tiga tahapan yaitu penyampaian materi, praktik langsung, dan workshop. Melalui pelatihan, peserta diperkenalkan dengan konsep dasar LMS serta praktik implementasi masing-masing platform dalam konteks pembelajaran. Instrumen penilaian yang digunakan yaitu angket respon peserta pelatihan sebagai bentuk evaluasi untuk peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan guru sebesar 75% dan peningkatan keterampilan sebesar 78% setelah mengikuti pelatihan. Hasil ini mengindikasikan bahwa pelatihan yang dilaksanakan efektif dalam membekali guru dengan keterampilan yang diperlukan untuk mengelola kelas secara digital. Dengan demikian, kegiatan pengabdian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi positif dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran di Sekolah Menengah Atas di Kabupaten Kerinci.

Abstract

Mahasiswa jurusan pendidikan biologi pada fakultas keguruan dan ilmu pendidikan akan menghasilkan calon guru biologi. Namun tidak semua siswa memiliki minat untuk memilih dan memulai profesi menjadi guru. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dengan siswa pendidikan biologi, beberapa siswa tidak berminat menjadi guru. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis minat siswa menjadi guru di masa pandemi Covid-19. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi. Sample penelitian ini berjumlah 91 mahasiswa. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan survey. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan angket skala Likert. Data yang diperoleh dari responden dianalisis dengan menggunakan SPSS versi 22. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa masih memiliki minat menjadi guru dengan kategori baik dan sangat baik pada faktor motivasi intrinsik dan ekstrinsik, pemahaman tentang profesi guru, citra profesi guru, dan pendidikan. latar belakang. Namun pengaruh lingkungan dan kesejahteraan keluarga dan guru memiliki kategori persentase yang cukup baik. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa sebagian siswa menganggap kedua faktor tersebut tidak menarik bagi siswa untuk menjadi guru.

Abstract

Pengabdian pada masyarakat (PPM) menjadi salah satu Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi yang dilaksanakan dosen. Kegiatan PPM program studi Pendidikan Kimia FKIP Universitas Jambi dilaksanakan dalam bentuk peningkatan kompetensi bagi masyarakat di SMAN 5 Muaro Jambi dalam bentuk pelatihan pembuatan bahan ajar Hypermedia Pop Up Digital. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan para guru mata pelajaran dalam membuat referensi sumber belajar dalam menerapkan kurikulum merdeka. Kegiatan PPM dilaksanakan dengan metode presentasi, demonstrasi, diskusi dan kegiatan mandiri. Diharapkan kegiatan PPM yang dilaksanakan bermanfaat bagi guru dalam melaksanakan kurikulum merdeka sedangkan bagi dosen dapat mengembangkan dan membagikan hasil pemikiran dan penelitiannya kepada masyarakat (guru) melalui kegiatan PPM. Capaian kegiatan PPM ini berupa peningkatan kualitas pemahaman dan keterampilan para guru dalam membuat bahan ajar berupa Hypermedia Pop Up Digital dalam mengimplementasikan kurikulum merdeka. Berdasarkan hasil angket yang telah diberikan kepada peserta pelatihan diketahui bahwa 88% mengalami peningkatan pengetahuan terkait bahan ajar inovatif yang disampaikan dan 100% menyatakan kegiatan pelatihan yang dilaksanakan bermanfaat bagi guru dalam kegiatan pembelajaran.

Abstract

Education is a conscious and planned effort to create an environment and learning process where students actively develop religious spiritual strength, self-control, personality and intelligence. The independent learning curriculum proposes changes to the education system for educational progress that is relevant to modern times. The independent learning goal is to create fun education for teachers and students. . Because chemistry subjects require an understanding of abstract concepts, students often have difficulty understanding them. Ethnoscience integrated learning is a new innovation in the world of education that combines culture and science. The 2022 PISA results show that Indonesian students' reading literacy has decreased by 12 points from the 2018 PISA results. These results also explain that Indonesian students are lower than the global literacy average of 117 points. Sadly, only 25.46% of Indonesian students reach the PISA minimum competency standards for reading. Learning media, or even multimedia, is not only a tool to help teachers, but also increases the literacy and character values of each student. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using interactive multimedia in integrated acid-base material in ethnoscience which is oriented towards scientific literacy abilities. The method used in this study is to compare data from several relevant journals. This research uses a narrative review approach. This research relies on secondary data such as journals and previous research on the relationship between interactive multimedia, ethnoscience, and scientific literacy. The research results show that interactive multimedia integrated with ethnoscience in acid-base material can influence scientific literacy abilities. This is proven from previous research sources that have been studied. Interactive multimedia with chemistry learning on interesting acid-base material integrated with ethnoscience has the benefit of influencing students' thinking abilities through interactive behavior. Chemistry material presented with an integrated ethnoscience culture can increase students' scientific literacy in learning.

Abstract

The research aims to develop an interactive website based on Chemo-edutainment using Google Sites as a learning medium on chemical bonding material. This research was motivated by students low understanding of the abstract and complex concept of chemical bonds, as well as learning methods that still tend to be monotonous. A chemo-edutainment approach that integrates elements of education and entertainment can make learning more interesting and enjoyable. The research method used is research and development ( Research an Develoment ) with the Lee and Owens model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The Research results show that : (1) the website development process is carried out through the stages of needs analysis, media design, interactive content development, and implementation for students; (2) The Validation results from material and media experts show that the website is suitable for use in the “Very good” category, (3) Teacher assessments and student responses to the website show high enthusiasm, the majority of students feel helped in understanding the concept of chemical bonds through this media. Thus, chemo-edutainment based website have proven to be effective in increasing students motivation, interest in learning and understanding of chemical bonding material.

Abstract

This article explains how students' communication skills can be enhanced by using the jigsaw-style cooperative learning model with air pollution material and atmosphere content. The jigsaw-style cooperative learning model involves students working in small groups to achieve learning objectives. The purpose of this study was to enhance students' communication abilities in comprehending and conveying information about air pollution and atmosphere. Classroom action research (CAR), which is conducted over two learning cycles, is the research methodology employed. Students teaching environmental chemistry courses in their sixth semester made up the study's sample. The data analysis used was the non-parametric paired sample wilcoxon signed-rank test with the SPSS application and the effect size test with microsoft excel application. The research findings showed that there was a significant difference in the use of the jigsaw cooperative learning model to improve students' communication skills. The effect size of the increase was in the moderate category on the indicator of listening to information with a value of r = 0.39, communicating ideas clearly with a value of r = 0.63, and the interlocutor who understood the message with a value of r = 0.61. As a result, students' comprehension and communication skills regarding the air pollution and atmosphere increased with the development of a learning model that emphasizes cooperation and communication within the framework of environmental learning is significantly aided by this study.

Abstract

This pioneering research embarks on an ambitious quest to assess the conceptual, procedural feasibility, and efficacy of a groundbreaking educational intervention, the Discovery Learning model teaching module infused with the innovative PhET application aimed at enhancing students' generic skills proficiency in the domain of chemistry. In a departure from conventional methodologies, this study employs a rigorous Research and Development (R&D) framework underpinned by the renowned 4-D Model to craft and validate this transformative pedagogical tool meticulously. The research cohort comprises high school students and chemistry educators poised at the vanguard of educational innovation. Employing a meticulously designed set of validation and response questionnaires, the study harnesses the power of descriptive and inferential statistics to glean profound insights into the impact of the intervention. The findings illuminate a resounding success: the Discovery Learning model teaching module, seamlessly integrated with the PhET application, exhibits exceptional validity and practicality and yields tangible improvements in students' generic chemistry science skills. Moreover, the overwhelmingly positive feedback from both educators and students, coupled with discernible disparities in responses between the experimental and control groups, underscores the transformative potential of this cutting-edge educational tool. This research's novelty lies in its pioneering development and validation of a PhET application-based Discovery Learning module, heralding a paradigm shift in secondary school chemistry education with the promise of fostering a new generation of scientifically literate and adept learners primed to navigate the complexities of the modern world.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: The purpose of this study was to develop STEAM-based learning videos using the CapCut application on Colloid material at the high school level. Methodology: This study is a development research using the Lee & Owens development model. The research instruments used were interview guidelines and questionnaires. The development products were validated by media experts and material experts, practitioner assessments were carried out by teachers and then tested in small groups. The data analysis techniques used were qualitative data analysis (comments and suggestions) and quantitative data analysis (average score of answers and percentage of questionnaires). Main Findings: The results of this study were obtained from material experts and media experts with an average score of 4.58 and 4.75 in the Very Eligible category. Furthermore, a practitioner’s assessment by chemistry teachers was obtained with an average score of 4.8 (very feasible), and received a very good response from students with a percentage of 93.5%. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study introduces a novel approach by integrating STEAM principles into the development of learning videos on colloid materials, leveraging the CapCut application to enhance creativity and interactivity in high school education. Unlike traditional teaching methods, this research combines technology-driven video editing with STEAM-based learning to foster critical thinking, collaboration, and practical application of scientific concepts in an engaging multimedia format.
