Abstract

Incomplete basic immunization in children aged 11-23 months has potential to increase contracting dangerous diseases risk due to suboptimal immunity. Parents play an important role in ensuring the success of children immunization. This study purpose was to analyze the completeness of CBI based on parents' knowledge, attitude, perception, and satisfaction in immunizing their children. It’s a quantitative analytic study with cross sectional approach. The population were all children with sample of 685 children taken by purposive sampling technique from 31 districts in Central Java province. Data were collected through interviews and analyzed univariate with frequency distribution, bivariate with Chi-Square test, and multivariate with multiple logistic regression. A total of 38.7% children were not fully immunized, especially in booster immunization (73.4%), IPV (25.7%) and MR (15.9%). Partially, it was proven that parent’s knowledge, attitude, perception, and satisfaction were related to completeness of basic immunization. Simultaneously knowledge and attitude together affect the completeness of basic immunization in children with an overall effect of 42%. Parents' knowledge and attitudes are key factors for completeness of basic childhood immunization. Need to improving literacy and strengthening positive attitudes through structured IEC using personal approach, as well as involving key figures in the community in their support for immunization program. Utilizing communication technology and social media is an alternative that should be considered.

Abstract

The Law on Marriage has been amended, but the prevalence of child marriage has not been reduced significantly. Grobogan is one of the areas with the highest prevalence of married and pregnant women at child age (less than 19 years) in Central Java, and is always above the national prevalence. During 2018 the prevalence of cases reached 59.88%, in 2019 it was 51.24%, in 2020 it was 52.81%, in 2021 it was 54.33%, and in 2022 it was 52.15%. Marriage of women at child age becomessocial phenomena that often occur in society. This research is an analytical survey with a cross-sectional design. The research uses a purposive sampling technique, namelyof all women who married at the age of less than 19 years in Grobogan district in the last 5 years (2018-2022), namely 2,676 cases. Data were analyzed to describe trends in cases and motives for marriage between women as children, as well as bivariate analysis using the Chi-square test to analyze the relationship between parents' marital history and children's marriages. The results of the research are that cases of child marriage (less than 19 years old) are more common among girls. Women are the ones who mostly marry under the age of 19. The most common cause (76.8%) underlying applications for marriage dispensation is dating behavior. Based on the pattern of child marriage couples that occurred in the last 5 years in Grobogan district, the most frequent marriages were women aged children (less than 19 years) marrying men aged adults (more than 19 years), namely 82.5%, there were 15.5 % of marriages that occurred between women and men who were both under 19 years of age, there were 1.8% of marriages that occurred between adult women (over 19 years) and men under 19 years of age, and 3 couples (0 .1%) married when both were 19 years old. There is a significant relationship between mothers' marital history and child marriages that occur in their daughters (p value 0.0002). This means that mothers who marry at a young age (less than 19 years) influence the occurrence of child marriage in their daughters.

Abstract

Covid-19 for three years has become an inseparable part of the lives of urban and rural communities. The impact occurs, such as the impact of Covid-19 on children. Children are a vulnerable part of society during a pandemic, about the conditions for their health, education, and protection. The role of the city in carrying out its duties as a public servant is important, where all stakeholders have an important role. Central Java, one of the provinces affected by Covid-19 has responded well with its adaptive programs. This research was conducted with a quantitative approach with a quantitative descriptive method, starting with an analysis of the role of stakeholders and programs related to Covid-19 prevention for children. The results of the analysis are continued by looking at the spatial pattern between cities and districts. Research data is taken from primary surveys through FGD and document review. The results of the study identify that not all city/district areas have a response to child protection during the Covid-19 pandemic, urban areas are more responsive to this condition. Increasing the role of protection for children during a pandemic is an important part of the process of returning to the new normal.

Abstract

Background: Exclusive breastfeeding coverage in Bengkulu City has decreased over the last three years. Mothers' confidence in their abilities and good mental health become an essential part of supporting exclusive breastfeeding. Objective: This study aims to examine the differences between self-efficacy and mental health of mothers based on their breastfeeding status, located in Bengkulu City. Methods: The researchers employed a cross-sectional approach to analyze the study. The sample consisted of 72 mothers with infants aged 0-6 months. The researchers selected the samples using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using a digital questionnaire (via Google Forms) through validity and reliability tests. Data were analyzed using an independent t-test. The mean self-efficacy score of partially breastfeeding mothers is lower than that of exclusively breastfeeding mothers. The mean mental health score of partially breastfeeding mothers is higher than that of exclusively breastfeeding mothers. Results: The results of the independent t-test found that the average self-efficacy score of exclusively breastfeeding mothers was 55.58, and the average mental health score of partially breastfeeding mothers was 10.32.Conclusion: There was a difference in the self-efficacy and mental health scores of partially and exclusively breastfeeding mothers. A high self-efficacy score indicates high maternal confidence. Meanwhile, high mental health scores indicate that mothers experience symptoms of psychological disorders. The achievement of successful exclusive breastfeeding is closely related to boosting self-assurance and preserving a mother's mental well-being.

Abstract

Stunting in children increases their risk of mortality, cognitive impairment, motor development, and poor body function. This study aimed to examine the relationship between low birth weight, low birth length, sex, age, and weight growth status and the prevalence of stunting, underweight, and wasting in children aged 6–36 months in West Lombok Regency, Indonesia. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted between November 2023 and May 2024 with 544 children. Secondary data were obtained from two community health centers in the study area. Data analysis was performed using the Spearman correlation test and chi-square test. Results: Birth weight and length were significantly associated with nutritional status in children. Higher birth weight was positively correlated with a better weight-for-age Z-score (WAZ; p = 0,001), height-for-age Z-score (HAZ; p = 0,009), and weight-for-height Z-score (WHZ; p = 0,0001), indicating a strong influence on overall growth and nutritional outcomes. Similarly, a greater birth length was significantly associated with WAZ (p = 0,0001), HAZ (p = 0,002), and WHZ (p = 0,006). Age was also correlated with HAZ (p = 0,005) and incidence of stunting (p = 0,0001), suggesting an age-related cumulative effect on linear growth. Moreover, children with low birth weight had a significantly higher risk of stunting (p = 0,0007), whereas those with low birth length were more likely to be underweight (p = 0,050). In conclusion, LBW and LBL are significant risk factors for stunting, wasting, and underweight in children aged 6–36 months in West Lombok Regency.
