Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the meaning of motifs, functions of motifs, and functions of bebet woven fabrics in the Sasak Ende community in terms of education and economy. This study uses a qualitative approach with an ethnographic approach, in-depth interviews, and documentation. We conducted this study in the Sasak Ende Tourism Village, Central Lombok Regency. Data analysis was carried out in the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that the kembang komak putiq woven cloth (white komak bean motif) is one of the oldest woven cloths with geometric patterns in the form of vertical lines and horizontal lines, forming a checkered motif that has been woven from generation to generation, Selentang (animal feet, Ragi bararti bumbu Bingkal means "animal feet" (buffalo) and Orong means "road." Maten kao (buffalo eyes) Biwih kaing (mouth of the cloth). The kembang komak putiq woven cloth (white komak flower) contains symbolic meaning and symbolic function in traditional events related to traditional rituals, traditions, and Sasak culture. The symbolic meaning of the motif includes religious values, aesthetic values, and education. This motif presents the identity of Sasak culture, spirituality, and the relationship between humans and the surrounding environment. Currently, the Sasak Ende community uses the kembang komak white woven cloth as an educational and economic value. The community faces challenges in sustainably inheriting weaving skills because of the rapid influence of technology, lifestyle changes, education, and contemporary demands on the current generation.

Abstract

The Trenggulunan Agro View (TAV) Program addresses socio-environmental challenges around PLTU Rembang by leveraging social forestry, waste-to-value innovations (e.g., FABA fertilizer), and renewable energy (co-firing biomass) to empower communities. This study evaluates TAV’s socio-economic and environmental impact using SROI analysis, assessing its scalability for Indonesia’s energy transition. A qualitative-descriptive approach with SROI methodology (six stages) was applied, incorporating stakeholder interviews, financial data, and impact monetization (deadweight, displacement, attribution adjustments). The program yielded an SROI of 2.23, reflecting Rp2.23 social value per Rp1 invested, with tangible outcomes: 31% poverty reduction, 128.5% income growth, and 8% annual increase in village revenue. Environmental benefits included critical land restoration and EBT-based pest control. TAV demonstrates a replicable model for integrating CSR with renewable energy agendas, advocating policy support for scalable, community-driven forestry-energy synergies.

Abstract

The fracture behavior of coconut fibers reinforced polyester composite depends on different fibers orientation was experimentally investigated under static loading conditions. The static uniaxial tensile and flexural loading for three (random discontinuous, longitudinal and woven direction) coconut fibers reinforced polyester composite was implemented using servo hydraulic material testing machine. The microstructure was observed using SEM observation in order to better understand damage mechanism during the stress of polyester phase. SEM observation on fracture surface can provide important information for research and development as well as fracture analysis. It was found that fracture modes were considerably different for these composites. The random discontinuous coconut fibers composite fracture caused by defects in fiber pull out, the longitudinal coconut fibers composite fracture caused by matrix cracking and delamination, the woven coconut fibers fracture caused by debonding and void. Based on the SEM observation results, the fracture behavior was determined and it was found that static loading conditions and fiber direction influence the fracture surface of coconut fibers reinforced polyester composite.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between social media activity and the level of trust in digital news, both disseminated through social media and traditional media. With a quantitative approach and explanatory design, data were collected through a survey of 300 social media active respondents in Indonesia and analyzed using the Pearson correlation test and simple linear regression. Results showed a positive and significant relationship between social media activity and trust in news on social media (r = 0.478; β = 0.472; R² = 0.229), but there was no significant association with trust in news in traditional media (r = –0.108; β = –0.094; R² = 0.011). These findings suggest that nearly a quarter of the variation in trust in digital news can be explained by the intensity of users' social activity in digital media, with trust mechanisms driven more by algorithmic exposure, social validation, and echo chamber effects than institutional credibility. This study confirms and contextualizes the media trust model and agenda-setting theory in Indonesia's digital environment, especially considering that 91% of respondents stated that they first encountered news through social media. This study recommends strengthening digital literacy based on social interaction and developing news distribution strategies adaptive to people's digital trust patterns.
