Abstract

Until now, many students still perceive mathematics as a subject filled with calculations. This causes them to be unwilling to learn mathematics because counting and thinking are not considered interesting activities. This situation is also evident among students at SMA Ma’arif Karangmoncol Purbalingga. This research aims to determine the mathematical literacy of students at SMA Ma’arif Karangmoncol Purbalingga in the material of arithmetic sequences and series, considering their self-efficacy. This qualitative descriptive research involves 6 students selected from an initial sample of 30 students, chosen based on inclusion criteria. The researcher utilized three instruments for data collection: a self-efficacy questionnaire, a mathematics literacy test, and interviews. The analysis technique employed is triangulation, where the researcher cross-examines the results of the literacy test with the interview findings. Research findings 1) Students with high self-efficacy demonstrate high mathematical literacy, 2) Students with moderate self-efficacy exhibit moderate mathematical literacy, and 3) Students with low self-efficacy display low mathematical literacy. Based on the research results, the researcher concludes that the higher the students' self-efficacy, the higher their mathematical literacy. This study serves as a noteworthy consideration for teachers, highlighting that self-efficacy is one of the affective skills that students should possess.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to review the improvement of students' mathematical problem solving skills in the implementation of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) from several articles in previous studies comprehensively and in depth in various schools, materials, or classes. This research method uses meta-analysis which consists of five stages, namely the definition of the research problem, data collection, coding process, statistical analysis, and presentation of results.. Based on the results of the study, it is obtained that the effect size value is included in the three categories of medium, large, and very large which means that the increase in mathematical problem solving ability on the implementation of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) and the results of the calculation of the two means test can be found that then  is rejected which means that the average experimental group is better than the control group. Thus, there is an increase in students' mathematical problem solving ability in the implementation of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL).

Abstract

Students are less able to work on mathematical problems due to difficulties understanding information and connecting real problems into mathematical models, resulting in low problem-solving abilities and mathematical self-concept. This study aims to (1) determine students’ problem solving ability with mathematical modeling through the Means-Ends Analysis (MEA) model based on blended learning to achieve classical completeness (2) to determine students’ problem solving ability with mathematical modeling through the MEA model based on blended learning and online PBL learning, (3) to determine the effect of mathematical self-concept on students’ problem solving abilities, (4) describe the students’ problem solving ability with mathematical modeling based on the mathematical self-concept. The research method used was a mixed-method. The population of this study was students of class VIII Junior High School 2 Purbalingga in the academic year 2021/2022, with students of class VIII B (experimental group) and VIII H (control group) taken by simple random sampling method. In the qualitative study, six subjects were taken from the experimental group using purposive sampling. The results showed that the problem-solving ability with mathematical modeling through the MEA model based on blended learning had not yet achieved classical completeness, but the test results with this model were better than the results of the online PBL model. Mathematical self-concept has a positive effect on students' problem solving abilities by 41.3%. Previously, subjects with high mathematical self-concept tended to fulfill all indicators of problem solving ability with mathematical modeling, while subjects with mathematical self-concept tended to have different achievement indicators.

Abstract

Kata Kunci: Long Short Term Memory (LSTM), Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU), Complete Ensemble Mode Decomposition with Adaptive Noise (CEEMDAN), Emisi Karbon Dioksida.

Abstract

This research investigates the impact of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) on students’ mathematical representation abilities within the context of mathematical modeling, with a particular focus on the role of learning independence. The research employs a mixed-method sequential explanatory model to analyze the effectiveness of Problem-Based Learning and to categorize students’ abilities and independence levels. Conducted with class XI TL 2 at SMAN 1 Mranggen during the 2023-2024 academic year, the findings reveal that PBL significantly enhances students’ mathematical representation abilities. Moreover, learning independence is identified in two distinct categories–high and medium–which correspond with similar levels of representation ability. Students’ mathematical representation ability has two categories, namely high and medium. These insights underscore the importance of self-directed learning in fostering mathematical comprehension and skills.
