Abstract

Abstract: The creative economy is one of the references for running a business in Indonesia. By pouring creative ideas into creating products and businesses with their characteristics for their creators. One of the forms of the creative economy is naming as the identification of the products produced. As is the case with Bontang Kuala, one of the sub-districts in the city of Bontang, the products that are well known by the community are shrimp paste, candied seaweed, salted fish, and the sambal gami, which have identification marks as brands that are disseminated in the community. The identification tag attached to the product has the potential for intellectual property because it has characteristics other business actors do not have. This well-known brand for a product is urgent for business actors in Bontang Kuala to be registered with the DJKI or the Ministry of Law and Human Rights in Samarinda, because it will get recognition and encourage Indonesia's creative economy, especially the Bontang Kuala creative economy. There are still many people in Bontang Kuala who do not know the potential of IPR, so it is necessary to introduce the brand used in the product and notify them that this potential can be registered online on the DJKI website or offline at the Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of East Kalimantan Province. The potential of IPR is introduced through a direct socialization method so that business actors can understand the potential of IPR and its urgency in supporting the creative economy in Bontang Kuala. The result of this socialization activity is that Bontang Kuala business actors can find out that the brand they have been using in marketing their products to the general public is a potential IPR and become one of the supporters of Bontang Kuala's creative economy, which has an impact on Bontang Kuala's economy. This is also shown from the results of the discussions carried out during the socialization activities and the results of the post-test, which were completed after the socialization session ended. Keywords: Creative Economy; Business Actors; Intellectual Property Rights. Abstrak: Ekonomi kreatif menjadi salah satu acuan dalam menjalankan usaha di Indonesia. Dengan menuangkan ide dan gagasan yang kreatif dalam penciptaan produk dan usaha yang memiliki ciri khas tersendiri bagi penciptanya. Salah satu dari bentuk ekonomi kreatif itu sendiri adalah pemberian nama sebagai tanda pengenal terhadap produk yang dihasilkan. Seperti halnya Bontang Kuala, salah satu kelurahan yang ada di kota Bontang, produk yang telah terkenal dihasilkan oleh masyarakatnya adalah terasi, manisan rumput laut, ikan asin, dan olahan khas sambal gami memiliki tanda pengenal sebagai merek yang disebarluaskan di masyarakat. Tanda pengenal yang melekat pada produk tersebut memiliki potensi kekayaan intelektual karena memiliki ciri khas tersendiri yang tidak dimiliki oleh pelaku usaha yang lain. Merek yang telah dikenal terhadap suatu produk ini menjadi urgen bagi pelaku usaha di Bontang Kuala untuk didaftarkan ke DJKI atau ke Kementerian Hukum dan HAM yang ada di Kota Samarinda, karena akan mendapat pengakuan dan mendorong ekonomi kreatif Indonesia terkhusus ekonomi kreatif Bontang Kuala. Masih banyak masyarakat Bontang Kuala belum mengetahui potensi HKI tersebut, sehingga perlu dilakukan pengenalan terhadap merek yang digunakan di produk serta memberitahukan bahwa potensi tersebut dapat didaftarkan secara online di laman DJKI maupun secara offline di Kantor Kementerian Hukum dan HAM Provinsi Kalimantan Timur. Pengenalan potensi HKI ini dilakukan melalui metode sosialisasi secara langsung agar pelaku usaha dapat memahami potensi HKI serta urgensinya dalam mendukung ekonomi kreatif di Bontang Kuala. Hasil dari kegiatan sosialisasi ini adalah pelaku usaha Bontang Kuala dapat mengetahui bahwa merek yang selama ini yang mereka gunakan dalam memasarkan produknya ke khalayak umum merupakan potensi HKI dan menjadi salah satu pendukung ekonomi kreatif Bontang Kuala yang berdampak pada ekonomi Bontang Kuala, hal ini pun ditunjukkan dari hasil diskusi yang telah dilaksanakan pada saat kegiatan sosialisasi, serta hasil postest yang diisi setelah sesi sosialisasi berakhir. Abstract

Abstract: This community service aims to determine what factors cause marine pollution in the Bontang Kuala Village Area, Bontang City, East Kalimantan Province. The method used in this research is the provision of theoretical material with questionnaires in the form of a pretest and posttest, namely an objective test in the form of multiple choice with two choices (yes/no) related to pollution and pollution control. The test was given at the beginning and end to measure the understanding of the audience (business actors) related to the material provided during the activity and monitoring or directly observing problems in the field through sea rigging field practices. The population used in this study was 24 business actors in Anjungan, Bontang Kuala. The results show that this activity can positively impact people's understanding, especially business actors in the Bontang Kuala area, regarding efforts to preserve environmental functions by introducing pollution control from an early age that Bontang Kuala business actors can carry out. Abstrak: Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor apa yang menyebabkan pencemaran laut yang terjadi pada Wilayah Kelurahan Bontang Kuala, Kota Bontang, Provinsi Kalimantan Timur. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pemberian materi secara teoritikal dengan kuesioner berupa pretest dan posttest yaitu tes objektif dengan bentuk pilihan ganda denagn dua pilihan (iya/tidak) terkait pencemaran dan pengendalian pencemaran yang diberikan di awal dan di akhir pelaksanaan kegiatan guna mengukur pemahaman sasaran kegiatan (pelaku usaha) terkait materi yang diberikan selama kegiatan juga serta melakukan pemantauan atau mengobservasi langsung permasalahan di lapangan berupa praktek lapangan susur laut. Populasi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 24 pelaku usaha di Anjungan, Bontang Kuala. Hasil penelitian dari kegiatan yang telah dilakukan adalah kegiatan ini mampu memberi dampak positif terhadap pemahaman masyarakat utamanya pelaku usaha wilayah Bontang Kuala terkait usaha pelestarian fungsi lingkungan hidup dengan cara memperkenalkan pengendalian pencemaran sejak dini yang dapat dilakukan oleh para pelaku usaha Bontang Kuala. Kata kunci: pencemaran; laut; pelaku usaha.

Abstract

Abstract: Involving information technology in creating branding is one form of effort to contribute to the growth of the tourism sector in Bontang Kuala. This research is motivated by the potential for natural tourism that is supported by the creative economy in residential areas above the Bontang Kuala sea. However, it can be unfortunate that product management in the creative economy has not been enough to build consumer brand awareness. Therefore, this study aims to increase the awareness of creative economy actors in Bumays Sea Processing of the importance of a brand or brand because the product has an identity to be marketed more broadly. In addition, social media as a medium for branding in the all-digital era is a shortcut for business actors. The method used in community service activities is the community education method, where this method was used in every extension or training activity. These community service activity results are 1) branding introduction counseling to creative economy actors, 2) training on using the Facebook marketplace feature as a branding medium, and 3) increasing knowledge of creative ideas in running a business. Keywords: Branding, marine products, creative economy Abstrak: Melibatkan teknologi informasi dalam menciptakan branding merupakan salah satu bentuk usaha memberikan kontribusi terhadap pertumbuhan sektor pariwisata di Bontang Kuala. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya potensi wisata alam yang didukung ekonomi kreatif di daerah pemukiman di atas laut Bontang Kuala. Namun dapat disayangkan pengelolaan produk pada ekonomi kreatif belum cukup membangun brand awareness konsumen. Oleh sebab itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran pelaku ekonomi kreatif Olahan Laut Bumays akan pentingnya brand atau merek karena melalui itulah produk memiliki jati diri untuk dipasarkan lebih luas. Selain itu melibatkan media sosial sebagai media untuk melakukan branding di era serba digital merupakan jalan pintas untuk pelaku usaha. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yaitu metode pendidikan masyarakat yang dimana metode ini akan digunakan dalam setiap kegiatan penyuluhan atau pelatihan. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini berupa 1) penyuluhan pengenalan branding pada pelaku ekonomi kreatif, 2) pelatihan penggunaan fitur marketplace Facebook sebagai media branding, 3) menambah pengetahuan ide-ide kreatif dalam menjalankan bisnis. Abstract

ABSTRACT: It has become known by many people that promotion is essential in the business world, especially for new businesses. In the business world, promotion aims to build the branding of a product and introduce the latest products from the business being run. Nowadays, many media are used to promote a product, one of which is pamphlets. A pamphlet is a sheet of paper containing information and offers. Before becoming a paper containing offers, the pamphlet is first designed attractively to make the readers curious about its contents. To design the flyer itself, we need an application to design it. Therefore, in addition to introducing pamphlets as promotional media, this socialization and training also aim to introduce an application that is easy to understand and learn. Canva is one of the most popular and frequently used applications for creating flyers. This application is also easy to access and available on smartphones. Keywords: pamphlets, Canva ABSTRAK : Sudah menjadi hal yang diketahui oleh banyak orang bahwa promosi sangat diperlukan dalam dunia bisnis, terutama bagi usaha yang baru berjalan. Di dalam dunia bisnis, promosi bertujuan untuk membangun branding suatu produk dan juga untuk memperkenalkan produk terbaru dari usaha yang sedang dijalankan. Di masa sekarang banyak media yang digunakan untuk mempromosikan suatu produk, salah satunya adalah pamflet. Pamflet adalah lembaran kertas yang berisi informasi dan penawaran. Sebelum menjadi kertas yang berisi penawaran, pamflet terlebih dahulu di desain dengan sangat menarik agar dapat membuat para pembacanya penasaran tentang isinya. Untuk mendesain pamflet itu sendiri, kita memerlukan aplikasi untuk mendesainnya. Maka dari itu, selain untuk memperkenalkan pamflet sebagai media promosi, sosialisasi dan pelatihan ini juga bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan salah satu aplikasi yang mudah dipahami dan dipelajari. Canva adalah salah satu aplikasi yang sangat populer dan sering digunakan untuk pembuatan pamflet. Aplikasi ini juga mudah untuk diakses dan tersedia di smartphone. Kata Kunci : pamflet, Canva

Abstract

Abstract: Grabfood is an online food delivery service available on the Grab application with the aim of making it easier for people to order food from home. The presence of Grabfood is one of the digital transformations carried out by creative economy actors by providing an even modifying creative ideas into solutions to help people fulfill their daily needs. The impact given by the presence of this service is also expected to be felt by business actors in Bontang Kuala, this socialization aims to encourage business actors to participate in developing the creative economy in Bontang to develop creative industries by starting to adapt to existing technological developments. One way is to start reaching consumers by relying on technology as a marketing medium by registering a business on an online food delivery service platform. The method used in this activity is to conduct socialization aimed at business actors in Bontang Kuala, which is followed by pre-test and post-test distribution activities as a benchmark for the success of socialization activities. Keywords: Grabfood, creative economy Abstrak: Grabfood merupakan salah satu layanan pesan antar makanan secara online yang tersedia pada aplikasi Grab dengan tujuan memudahkan masyarakat dalam memesan makanan dari rumah. Hadirnya Grabfood ini merupakan salah satu transformasi digital yang dilakukan oleh pelaku ekonomi kreatif dengan memberikan bahkan memodifikasi ide-ide kreatif menjadi solusi untuk membantu masyarakat dalam melakukan pemenuhan kebutuhan sehari-hari. Dampak yang diberikan oleh kehadiran layanan ini diharapkan juga dirasakan oleh para pelaku usaha yang berada di Bontang Kuala, sosialisasi ini bertujuan untuk mendorong para pelaku usaha agar berpartisipasi dalam pengambangan ekonomi kreatif di Kota Bontang untuk mengembangkan industri kreatif dengan mulai beradaptasi dengan perkembangan teknologi yang ada. Salah satu caranya dengan mulai menjangkau konsumen dengan mengandalkan teknologi sebagai media pemasaran dengan cara mendaftarkan usaha pada platform layanan pesan antar makanan secara online. Adapun metode yang dilakukan pada kegiatan ini dengan melakukan sosialisasi yang ditujukan untuk para pelaku usaha di Bontang Kuala yang diikuti dengan kegiatan penyebaran pre-test dan post-test sebagai tolak ukur keberhasilan kegiatan sosialisasi. Abstract

Abstract: This community service activity is motivated by understanding the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) Pavilion in Bontang Kuala, which still lacks an understanding of financial records (bookkeeping), and most of them have not recorded simple financial statements of the businesses they manage. The main problem is that these business actors find it difficult to master the knowledge in the field of recording or accounting. Even though the business they are currently running is a business that requires correct and consistent records. This simple financial report is significant for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), especially those around the Bontang Kuala Pavilion tourist spot. This is a positive value for the sustainability of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) because they can develop the business they are managing and can advance the tourism sector in Bontang Kuala. The method used in this activity is through socialization and discussion with participants who are present, accompanied by the provision of sheets of paper in the form of pre-test and post-test containing questions to be asked to participants to measure participants' understanding before and after the socialization activity takes place. In this socialization activity, the participants who could participate until the end were the eleven Micro Small Medium Enterprises (UMKM) Pavilion in Bontang Kuala. This socialization activity showed that researchers could motivate participants who attended through introduction materials and the importance of simple financial reports for business actors. Participants also understood how to prepare and record simple financial statements. Keywords: MSMEs, Simple Financial Statements, Tourism Sector Abstrak: Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pemahaman pelaku Usaha Mikro Kecil Menengah (UMKM) Anjungan di Bontang Kuala yang terbilang masih kurang dalam memahami pencatatan keuangan (pembukuan) dan sebagian besar juga belum melakukan pencatatan laporan keuangan sederhana dari usaha yang mereka kelola. Perkara utamanya karena para pelaku usaha tersebut merasa kesulitan dalam menguasai pengetahuan di bidang pencatatan atau akuntansi tersebut. Padahal usaha yang sedang mereka jalankan hingga saat ini adalah usaha yang memerlukan pencatatan dengan benar dan konsisten. Laporan keuangan sederhana tersebut sangatlah penting bagi pelaku Usaha Mikro Kecil Menengah (UMKM) khususnya yang berada di sekitar tempat wisata Anjungan Bontang Kuala. Hal ini bernilai positif untuk keberlangsungan Usaha Mikro Kecil Menengah (UMKM) karena mampu mengembangkan bisnis yang sedang mereka kelola dan dapat memajukan sektor pariwisata yang ada di Bontang Kuala. Adapun metode yang digunakan pada kegiatan ini adalah melalui sosialisasi dan diskusi bersama peserta yang hadir dengan disertai pemberian lembaran kertas berbentuk pre test dan post test yang berisikan pertanyaan untuk diajukan kepada peserta agar dapat mengukur pemahaman peserta sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan sosialisasi berlangsung. Pada kegiatan sosialisasi ini peserta yang dapat mengikuti hingga berakhirnya kegiatan adalah sejumlah sebelas orang pelaku Usaha Mikro Kecil Menengah (UMKM) Anjungan di Bontang Kuala. Hasil kegiatan sosialisasi ini menunjukkan bahwa peneliti mampu memotivasi peserta yang hadir melalui materi pengenalan serta alasan mengapa pentingnya laporan keuangan sederhana bagi pelaku usaha dan para peserta juga dapat memahami bagaimana penyusunan serta pencatatan laporan keuangan secara sederhana. Abstract

In this research, the researchers focus on describing character development and the factors that influence the character development of the main character in the Black Swan film. The researcher uses two theories to answer the two problem formulations. In the first question, the researcher used Murphy's characterization theory to find out the character of Nina Sayers in the Black Swan film before and after changing. In the second question, the researcher used the personality development theory of Elizabeth B. Hurlock to find out the factors that influence the character development experienced by the main character. In this research, the method that the researcher used was the qualitative descriptive research method. The analysis results show that Nina's character has changed from submissive to disobedient, innocent to rebel, kind to revolt, quiet to rude, and weak to brutal. The developments of these five Nina's character are influenced by three determinants such as emotional, aspiration and achievement, and family.Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti fokus untuk mendeskripsikan perkembangan karakter dan faktor yang mempengaruhi perkembangan karakter dari karakter utama dalam film Black Swan. Peneliti menggunakan dua teori untuk menjawab dua rumusan masalah tersebut. Pertanyaan pertama, peneliti menggunakan teori karakterisasi dari Murphy untuk mengetahui karakter dari Nina Sayers dalam film Black Swan sebelum dan sesudah berubah. Pertanyaan kedua, peneliti menggunakan teori perkembangan kepribadian dari Elizabeth B. Hurlock untuk mengetahui faktor yang mempengaruhi perkembangan karakter yang dialami karakter utama. Dalam penelitian ini, metode yang digunakan oleh peneliti adalah metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa karakter Nina telah berubah dari penurut menjadi pembangkang, polos menjadi pemberontak, baik hati menjadi pemberontak, pendiam menjadi kasar, dan lemah menjadi kejam. perkembangan dari lima karakter Nina tersebut dipengaruhi oleh tiga determinan seperti emosional, aspirasi dan pencapaian, dan keluarga.

Abstract

Translation is a process of transferring meaning from source language to target language concerning the stylistics and norm of the target culture. This research only focused on translation techniques and quality of four abstracts undergraduate thesis of Indonesia Literature Students of Mulawarman University. The researcher used qualitative methods, translation studies and investigator triangulation. Molina and Albir’s theory was used to analyze translation techniques, while the researcher used Nababan’s theory for translation quality. To reduce any subjectivity when assessing translation quality, the researcher asked for help from two English Literature lecturers of Mulawarman University to become the raters of this research. Ten translation techniques were found in all abstracts: amplification, borrowing, calque, compensation, generalization, literal translation, modulation, particularization, reduction, and transposition. The most technique used by all of the students is literal translation. There are twenty-two accurate data, seventeen acceptable data, and thirty-nine readable data from all abstracts. However, three inaccurate data, one unacceptable datum and one not readable datum were found.Keywords: translation techniques, translation quality, undergraduate thesis abstract

Abstract

ABSTRACT Discrimination is a social problem that often occurs in society. This study focused on discrimination issues towards Jesse Owens as the main character in the Race film. The purposes of this research are to identify the types of discrimination and the types of responses against discrimination that happens to Jesse Owens in the Race film. The researcher used a qualitative method and mimetic approach in this research. To identify the types of discrimination and the types of responses against discrimination, the researcher used Feagin and Sikes' theory. There were four types of discrimination that occurred towards Jesse Owens, namely avoidance, rejection, verbal attacks, and the last are other threats and harassment. From all the types of discrimination found, verbal attacks were the most common type found in this research. In addition, there was no type of police threats and harassment in this film, because Jesse Owens rarely interacts with the police. Besides, there were two types of responses against discrimination shown by Jesse Owens in the Race film, namely withdrawal and resigned acceptance. From all the types of responses against discrimination, resigned acceptance is the most common type in this research. In addition, there was no verbal confrontation and physical confrontation in this film because the discrimination stopped after he did the resigned acceptance to against it. All of the discrimination in this study is depicted through Jesse Owens as the victim in this film.

Abstract

This research focuses on an anti-whitewashing movement in films and how it connects with the shifting portrayals and stereotypes of Asians in films. The period addressed in this study is from 1995 to 2021. The researcher begins by recognizing whitewashing issues and concerns in casting Asian actors and identifying stereotypical images of Asians portrayed in two films: the original version of Mortal Kombat, which was released in 1995, and the contemporary remake of the film, which was released in 2021. This research used content analysis to compare the portrayals and stereotypes of Asians in both films. The data indicate that racist images of Asians seen in Mortal Combat 1995 have been removed in Mortal Combat 2021.
