Abstract

The service targets female home industry (HI) actors from Gampong Cot Lamme Aceh Besar who are still having social and psychological impacts due to the conflict. They tend to be pessimistic and apathetic in managing their business, even though their business contributes to the family economy. An Action Research approach was used to ensure community involvement throughout the program. The research problem formulation is how to model empowering women's home industries based on action research, strengthen home industries, and encourage community involvement, especially HI actors. The service results show that the community empowerment model is implemented through six focuses: strengthening business mentality and spirit, improving product quality, improving business management skills, expanding marketing access, and building networks. Mental strengthening of business is carried out through a religious approach based on recitation. The result was that 14 businesses had official business licensing documents, packaged products, and had diversification of salted duck egg products. Marketing is carried out with the label "Aseli Cot Lamme Poe." Meanwhile, multi-stakeholder involvement was carried out by bridging partnerships with the Islamic Community Development Study Program (PMI) FDK UIN Ar-Raniry, PLUT Aceh Besar and TP-PKK KutaBaro District.

Abstract

Background: The rapid advancement of information and communication technology demands innovative instructional strategies that foster 21st-century skills, particularly critical thinking. However, biology learning in schools remains predominantly conventional and lacks the integration of scientific-based digital media. The scientific approach and the Liveworksheets platform have become relevant tools as they support active, structured, and inquiry-based learning. This study aims to develop interactive digital student worksheets using the scientific approach by the Liveworksheets platform on the human respiratory system topic for the second grade students at Sinar Husni Helvetia Private High School. Methodology: Employing the Research and Development (R&D) method, this study adopted the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Findings: The validation results show the worksheets is highly valid, with scores of 88.33 % (media), 87.5 % (content), and 87.5 % (assessment). Practicality tests showed an average of 92 % indicating the liveworksheets is highly practical, with student responses (85 %) and teacher responses (93 %). Effectiveness tests demonstrated a significant improvement in students' critical thinking skills, with the average pre-test score of 47 increasing to 86.23 in the post-test, and an N-Gain score of 0.76, categorized as high. Data analysis was conducted quantitatively using percentage and N-Gain calculations. The novelty of this research lies in the direct integration of the scientific approach into the Liveworksheets platform in the form of a digital worksheets that systematically guides students through scientific stages. Contribution: The results of this development enrich the alternatives for valid, practical, and effective digital learning media that support critical thinking skills and reinforce technology-integrated biology learning at the high school level

Abstract

Pre-school age is a golden age where children’s growth and development affects the future therefore at this time it is important to pay attention so that the child’s growth and development runs optimally. The role of the family is one of the determining factors for child development because the family is the closest individual and influences the child’s growth and development.This research design is quantitative with using analytical observational. The respondents in this study were families who had pre-school age children. The sampling technique uses a random sampling of 54 people. The independent variable is a family role, whereas the dependent variabel is growth and development of pre-school age children. The data collection is starting with questionnaires. The data is analyzed using chi square. The results showed that there was a relationship between the role of the family and the growth and development of pre-school age children (0,000)<(0,05).The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between the role of the family and the growth and development of pre-school children at TK Al Amanah in the village of Campor Barat. Based on the results of this study, it is hoped that families will pay more attention to the growth and development of children at pre-school age. and health workers can provide counseling to families of pre-school age children regarding the role of the family in the child's growth and development process so that it runs optimally.

Abstract

The goal of this study was to find out how mothers in Posyandu Betet, Parsanga Village, felt about the importance of DDTK for their children. This study employs a quantitative, using a total sampling technique with 18 mothers who came with their children at the Posyandu in Parsanga Village. The result is, most of mothers had a negative perception. The negative category of mother's perception was shown in the aspect of judgment and aspect of understanding. According to the findings, parents, particularly mothers, should pay attention about children growth and development in order their childrens in an optimsl growth based on their age.

Abstract

Angka kejadian stunting di Kabupaten Sumenep pada tahun 2022  sebesar 21,6%, nilai tersebut masih jauh dari target penurunan stunting Pemerintah Indonesia yaitu sebesar 14%. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara sumber penyediaan air minum dengan kejadian stunting pada balita di Kabupaten Sumenep. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analitik dengan pendekatan analisis data uji Chocran untuk hubungan sumber air minum dengan kejadian stunting dan uji Chi-Square untuk hubungan pengolahan air minum dengan kejadian stunting. Data sumber air minum dilakukan dengan mewawancarai ibu balita dan hasil data stunting diperoleh dari pengukuran Tinggi/Panjang badan balita menurut umur balita, dibandingkan dengan standar baku dari WHO-MGRS yaitu nilai z-score-nya kurang dari -2 SD/standar deviasi (stunted) dan kurang dari -3 SD (severely stunted). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan ada hubungan signifikan antara sumber air minum yang dikonsumsi balita dengan kejadian stunting  dengan p=0,047 dan ada hubungan antara pengolahan air minum dengan kejadian stunting sebesar p=0,038 sehingga perlu diberikannya edukasi kepada masyarakat tentang pengolahan air minum untuk meminimalisir terjadinya diare pada balita.

Abstract

Biosurfactants are natural surfactants derived from bacteria which can degrade oil content in soil or water. Most of these biosurfactant-producing bacteria are often  found in areas polluted by oil and grease, such as aerobic ponds of palm oil liquid waste. The purpose of this research was to isolate and identify biosurfactant-producing bacteria from aerobic ponds of palm oil wastewater at PT. Aek Loba Plantation. This research was conducted using descriptive and identification methods through emulsification tests, morphological characterization, gram staining, biochemical tests, and PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) methods for bacteria that had the highest emulsification index values. Based on the results of the emulsification test, it was found that 8 biosurfactant-producing bacterial isolates consisted of 6 bacterial genera and 1 bacterial species that had different emulsification indexes, namely 1 Citrobacter genus isolate (30%), 1 Enterobacter genus bacterial isolate (42.2%) , 2 isolates from the genus Eschericia (35.9% and 36.5%), 1 isolate from the genus Pseudomonas (32%), 1 isolate from the genus Micrococcus (37.5%), 1 isolate from the genus Bacillus, and 1 species of bacteria Klebsiella variicola (42.8%) which is a biosurfactant producing bacteria that has the highest emulsification index value.

Abstract

Disposable baby diapers are a type of product that is now widely used by the public, but produces large amounts of waste which poses environmental challenges. The way to process this waste is by recycling into additional solid organic fertilizer materials. This study aims to determine the increase in nutrients due to the addition of diaper waste hydrogel to compost products with different raw materials. The parameters observed to measure the quality of the compost are water content, pH, C/N ratio, C-Organic, N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Cu, Zn, and Mn. The study was conducted with different raw materials (sawdust, cow manure and their combination), with and without the addition of diaper waste hydrogel. The results showed that treatments with added diaper waste hydrogel (P1H, P2H, and P3H) had higher macronutrient and micronutrient levels than treatments without (P1, P2, and P3). Especially, P2H treatment had better suitability and nutrient increase compared to other treatments based on SNI 19-7030-2004.

Abstract

Background: The level of science literacy among junior high school students regarding the human respiratory system remains low, as abstract concepts are difficult to grasp due to the limited learning media provided by teachers. This study aims to develop science literacy-based flipchart media to improve the scientific competence of eighth-grade students at MTsS Al-Washliyah Sei Langgei. Methodology: Using the Research and Development (R&D) framework, the study followed the 4D sequence of Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. Subject and media experts, science educators, and 24 students from seventh grade participated in this research. Data collected through expert validation forms, teacher and student practicality questionnaires, and pretest–posttest assessments. The data were analyzed quantitatively through validation percentages and N-Gain to assess effectiveness, as well as qualitatively through descriptive narratives of the comments and suggestions of experts and teachers. Findings: The results showed that the flipchart was highly valid (subject matter experts 96.43%; media experts 98.44%), highly practical (teachers 96.59%; students 98.13%), and effective (N-Gain 0.71). Contribution: These findings confirm that science literacy-based flipcharts are effective in improving students' conceptual understanding and scientific skills, facilitate teachers in delivering material, and can be used as an alternative medium and reference for the development of other science learning media

Abstract

Observations carried out at Senior High School of SMA Ar Rahman found that students' critical thinking abilities were still low, especially in the respiratory system material. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of the problem based learning model on students' critical thinking abilities through practicum on respiratory system material. The samples used were second grade class (XI-MIPA 1) as the experimental-class and XI-MIPA 2 as the control-class. The quasi-experimental research uses a posttest only control design. The variable measured is students' critical thinking abilities obtained from the pretest-posttest scores tested by the t-test. Student practicum activities, student responses, and teacher responses were analyzed using percentage qualitative descriptive analysis. The results showed the average critical thinking ability score for the experimental class was 76.93 while the control was 65.67. The results of the t-test show that there is a significant influence between biology learning using the Problem Based Learning model on students' critical thinking abilities at SMA Ar Rahman High School. The implication is that implementing the PBL model in respiratory system material can serve as an effective pedagogical alternative for educators on SMA Ar Rahman high school to foster higher-order thinking skills in students, which are essential in addressing 21st-century learning challenges. This study provides empirical evidence for the development of a biology learning model based on Problem-Based Learning (PBL) integrated with practicum activities

Abstract

Limbah cair pabrik kelapa sawit merupakan salah satu jenis limbah organik yang dapat digunakan sebagai pupuk karena mengandung unsur hara. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui potensi bakteri lipolitik sebagai biofertilizer secara In vitro dari limbah cair pabrik kelapa sawit. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dan kuantitatif yang terdiri dari isolasi bakteri lipolitik, karakteristik bakteri lipolitik yaitu pengamatan makroskopi bakteri pada media lipid, uji aktivitas kuantitatif lipolitik, uji potensi bakteri lipolitik sebagai biofertilizer meliputi uji penambat nitrogen, kemampuan melarutkan fosfat dan kalium, serta pengamatan fisiologi bakteri meliputi pewarnaan gram dan uji biokimia yang terdiri atas uji katalase, uji methyl red, ujimotilitas, uji indol dan uji Triple Sugar Iron Agar (TSIA). Hasil isolasi bakteri lipolitik menunjukkan bahwa isolat BLCP 02, BLCP 04, BLCP 07, BLCP 08 dan BLCP 09 mempunyai kemampuan lipolitik terbesar berdasarkan indeks zona bening yang dihasilkan yaitu BLCP 02 memiliki IL sebesar 0,56 mm, BLCP 04 memiliki IL sebesar 0,75 mm, BLCP 07 memiliki IL 0,63 mm, BLCP 08 memiliki IL sebesar 0,73 mm dan BLCP 09 memiliki IL sebesar 0,68. Uji potensi sebagai agen biofertilizer juga didapatkan pada isolat BLCP 02, BLCP 04, BLCP 07, BLCP 08 dan BLCP 09 karena kelima isolat tersebut memiliki kemampuan lipolitik, pemfiksasi nitrogen, dan kemampuan dalam melarutkan fosfat dan kalium. Hasil dari identifikasi bakteri lipolitik terdapat 5 genus bakteri yang dinyatakan sebagai genus dari bakteri Lipolitik yaitu BLCP 02 Genus Micrococcus, BLCP 04 Genus Paracoccus, BLCP 07 Genus Actinomycetes, BLCP 08 Genus Bacillus dan BLCP 09 Genus Lysinibasillus. Penelitian dapat dijadikan referensi untuk ke depannya kepada masyarakat agar dapat memanfaatkan bakteri lipolitik sebagai biofertilisasi dari limbah cair kelapa sawit.
