Abstract

This study aims to describe the improvement in student learning outcomes after participating in the learning process using the discovery learning model assisted by infographics. This classroom action research was conducted in two cycles with stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 37 students of class X PS 1 SMKN 7 Makassar, carried out in the even semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. Data collection techniques used written tests and documentation, with research instruments in the form of pretest and posttest sheets. Learning outcomes were analyzed using descriptive statistics. The research results showed a significant improvement in learning outcomes after the application of the discovery learning model assisted by infographics. The average class score increased from 39.59 in the pre-cycle to 70.81 in cycle I and 80.13 in cycle II. The completion percentage also increased from 40% in the pre-cycle to 71% in cycle I and 80% in cycle II. The implementation of discovery learning assisted by infographics was effective in improving student learning outcomes, making the learning process more conducive and meaningful.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the validation results of developing a multiplatform learning media for Operating System Installation Simulation using Unity Engine, to understand user feedback on the developed multiplatform learning media for Operating System Installation Simulation using Unity Engine, and to evaluate the effectiveness of the developed multiplatform learning media. This research follows a Research and Development (R&D) approach, utilizing the ADDIE model for media development. Data collection techniques include interviews, questionnaires, documentation, and tests. The outcome is a learning media product for simulating the installation of the Windows 10 operating system, available on multiple platforms specifically Windows desktop and Android mobile offering a feasible, highly effective tool for learning. The feasibility of this learning media was assessed based on validation results from media and subject matter experts, which indicated a feasible rating. User responses in both small and large groups were highly positive. The effectiveness test showed a classical completion rate above the standard, with average simulation times closely matching real-case scenarios, affirming the effectiveness of this learning media.

Abstract

This study aims to design, implement, and evaluate a real-time electrical energy consumption monitoring system in the Haji Rani Building using the Arduino Uno microcontroller and the Blynk platform. The system integrates the PZEM-004T sensor for measuring voltage, current, power, and electrical energy, while the Wemos D1 Mini facilitates wireless data transmission via a Wi-Fi network. The research follows a Research and Development (R&D) methodology with a prototype development model. Data collection techniques include observation, documentation, and direct testing. The test results indicate that the developed system has a good level of accuracy, with an average deviation of 4.21% compared to standard measuring instruments. Despite minor deviations, the system successfully provides real-time monitoring with a fast response through the Blynk application, enabling remote access. Functionality evaluation using the Guttman scale, conducted by two content experts, confirms that the system meets the expected standards in terms of reliability, accuracy, and usability. However, the system's reliance on a stable Wi-Fi connection may affect monitoring reliability in areas with poor network coverage. Additionally, the accuracy of the PZEM-004T sensor, while acceptable for general monitoring, could be improved with more precise sensors. Future research should focus on integrating more accurate sensors, implementing machine learning algorithms for energy consumption analysis, and developing an automated IoT-based energy management system. By addressing these aspects, the proposed system can be further enhanced to improve energy efficiency and sustainability.

Abstract

This research is quantitative descriptive research that aims to determine the results of the evaluation of the PLTS system at SMKN 3 Makassar and also find out what factors affect the feasibility of this renewable energy power plant. Rooftop solar power plant with on-grid system is a system consisting of solar panels installed on the roof of a building that is directly connected to the PLN network, this system makes a building produce its own electricity from sunlight. This research uses documentation and observation methods carried out by direct observation of the PLTS distribution panel and also making observations on the conductor system and cross section. PLTS with polycrystalline type panels usually have an efficiency of around 13% to 16% and based on the results of this study, the lowest efficiency calculation results were obtained on Tuesday, 26 September 2023 operating hours 12.00 with a frequency of 50 Hz, light intensity of 915 W/m2, with a data value of 5773.1 kWh out and 41,450 kWh incoming power with a PLTS efficiency of 13%. Then the highest efficiency calculation occurred on Friday, 06 October 2023 with a frequency of 50 Hz, light intensity of 770 W/m2, with an outgoing data value of 5817.2 kWh and an incoming power of 20,000 kWh with a PLTS efficiency of 29%, therefore it can be concluded that the on-grid rooftop PLTS at SMKN 3 Makassar has a very good ability to convert solar energy into energy.

Abstract

Beef consumption in Indonesia increases every year, but this high demand triggers traders to cheat by selling meat that is not fit for consumption, such as rotten meat. This endangers public health and raises concerns, such as the case of the discovery of rotten meat in Makassar. To help people recognise the quality of beef, this research develops a beef quality detection application using the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) method with Edge Impulse Studio. This application was developed using a prototype model and Research and Development (R&D) method at the Electrical Engineering Laboratory of Makassar State University. Tests showed a model accuracy rate of 99% and test accuracy of 99.17%. Evaluation based on ISO 25010 includes four aspects: functional suitability reached 100% according to the validator lecturer, usability with 97% response proportion, performance efficiency with ±85% CPU usage and 83.3 MB memory, and portability which shows the application runs well on various Android versions. Compatibility was tested by running the application simultaneously with other applications, and the results remained optimal. This application provides a practical solution to detect beef quality quickly and accurately, helping people prevent health risks due to consumption of unfit meat.

Abstract

Pelibatan saksi ahli bahasa pada kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini, merupakan bagian dari tahapan penyidikan terhadap dugaan pelanggaran Pasal 160 KUHP di wilayah Kepolisian Negara Republik Indonesia Daerah Sulawesi Selatan Resort Luwu dengan melibatkan saksi ahli bahasa. Saksi ahli bahasa berperan memberikan keterangan ahli berupa pendapat ahli bahasa yang didasarkan pada kajian linguistik forensik sebagai bagian dari kajian ilmu bahasa yang membantu proses penegakan hukum. Keterlibatan akademisi pada penegakan aturan tersebut merupakan bagian dari Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM). Metode Pelaksanaan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat dalam bentuk kerjasama antara dosen dan mahasiswa Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar dengan Kepolisian Negara Republik Indonesia Daerah Sulawesi Selatan Resort Luwu Sulawesi Selatan mengadopsi pendekatan PAR (Participatory Action Research) yang menekankan aspek kolaborasi, keterlibatan aktif, dan tindakan bersama yang dilakukan oleh para kolaborator untuk mendefinisikan sebuah masalah. Implementasi PAR melibatkan serangkaian langkah yang meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan, analisis, dan tindakan berkelanjutan. Perencanaan kegiatan diawali dengan proses identifikasi terhadap laporan dugaan tindak pidana pelanggaran Pasal 160 KUHP yang masuk ke Kepolisian Negara Republik Indonesia Daerah Sulawesi Selatan Resort Luwu Sulawesi Selatan yang didasarkan pada berkas nomor palporan dan ditindaklanjuti oleh penyidik Kepolisian Negara Republik Indonesia Daerah Sulawesi Selatan Resort Luwu Sulawesi Selatan dengan permintaan Ahli Bahasa kepada Ketua LP3M Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar menerbitkan surat tugas. Oleh karena itu, pelaporan PkM ini disusun berdasarkan landasan administrasi surat tugas. Pada kegiatan ini, para akadmisi berperan ahli bahasa sebagai Consulting Expert (Memberikan Konsultasi) dan berlanjut menjadi Testifying Expert (bersaksi di pengadilan) jika proses hukum terkait alat bukti yang dianalisis berlanjut ke tahap berikutnya.

Abstract

The rapid adoption of QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard) in Indonesia has transformed consumer payment behavior, particularly among Generation Z. However, empirical studies exploring its influence on merchant adoption in the street food sector remain limited. Previous literature has predominantly examined QRIS usage from the perspective of financial inclusion, with minimal attention to the intergenerational dynamics between digital-native consumers and small-scale vendors. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with thematic analysis to investigate Generation Z’s usage patterns of QRIS and merchant responses to its implementation. Primary data were collected through semi-structured interviews with ten Generation Z consumers, selected purposively based on their high frequency of QRIS use in food purchases. Two street food vendors were chosen to represent differing age groups and digital literacy levels. Findings indicate that most Generation Z participants consistently preferred QRIS over cash, citing transaction speed, ease of use, and perceived security as key factors. Several respondents stated they would avoid purchasing from vendors without QRIS availability, indicating a demand-driven influence on merchant practices. Merchant responses varied: younger, digitally literate vendors readily adopted QRIS, while older vendors encountered barriers such as limited device access and low digital literacy. The small number of merchant participants reflects the study’s focus on depth of insight rather than breadth of sampling. These results suggest that Generation Z’s payment preferences are accelerating the integration of digital payments in micro and small enterprises, though intergenerational disparities in adoption remain a challenge for broader financial technology inclusion.

Abstract

Desa Gunung silanu adalah salah satu desa yang terletak di wilaya Kecamatan Bangkala Kabupaten Jeneponto Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan dengan luas wilayah 12,50 km2. Desa Gunung Silanu memiliki ikim yang sama dengan desa-desa lain yang ada di wilayah Kabupaten Jeneponto yakni iklim tropis dengan curah hujannya sangat rendah. Petani di desa ini mayoritas membudidayakan tanaman holtikultura dibanding dengan tanaman padi karena tanaman padi membutuhkan banyak air. Beberapa petani menanam tanaman holtikultura jenis sayuran seperti sawi, bayam, terong, kubis, labu, dan kangkung hanya pada musim hujan karena tanaman sayuran ini membutuhkan banyak air dibanding tanaman holtikultura lainnya seperti cabai, tomat, dan bawang. Pada musim kemarau, para petani tetap menanam tanaman holtikultura jenis sayuran dengan mengandalkan air dari Daerah Aliran Sungai (DAS) Puncara dengan bantuan pompa air jenis mesin diesel berbahan bakar BBM. Melihat kondisi petani yang membutuhkan banyak biaya setiap kali melakukan pengairan ladang perkebunan menggunakan pompa mesin, maka kami bermaksud untuk memberikan sebuah solusi yaitu dengan membuat sistem pengairan lahan pertanian menggunakan jenis pompa yang digerakkan oleh motor listrik dengan sumber daya yang dapat diambil dari tenaga matahari. Pemilihan solusi ini sangat tepat menurut kami, dengan berbagai alasan yang sangat kuat yaitu karena sumber tenaga yang dibutuhkan berupa listrik dari tenaga surya lebih ramah lingkungan, tidak membutuhkan biaya bahan bakar, serta mudah didapatkan oleh petani mengingat di desa ini memiliki intensitas cahaya matahari sangat tinggi.

Abstract

Sering sekali bahwa suatu paket tes terlihat valid bila hanya melihat bentuk soal yang tampak di luarnya. Namun, secara statistik, banyak hal yang harus diusahakan agar paket soal tersebut memang baik secara keseluruhan, misalnya apakah tingkat kesulitannya sudah memenuhi, apakah daya bedanya sudah memenuhi, apakah pengecohnya sudah berfungsi, dan lain-lain. Semua pertanyaan tersebut baru bisa menemukan solusi bila sudah diujikan secara statistik. Belum banyak guru yang memahami bagaimana caranya mengerahui karakteristik butir setiap butir soal dalam suatu paket soal. Salah satu aplikasi yang handal namun bersifat free yaitu ITEMAN. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan terkait dengan analisis butir soal. Mitra pengabdian yaitu para guru SMK N 1 Majene di Provinsi Sulawesi Barat. Dari analisis situasi didapatkan bahwa mitra mempunyai permasalahan pada aspek pengetahuan, yaitu belum mengetahui bagaimana prosedur strategi dalam menganalisis butir soal. Pada aspek praktik, mitra pengabdian belum mempunyai keterampilan mengaplikasikan perangkat lunak untuk mengukur indeks kesukaran butir soal. Solusi yang ditawarkan oleh tim pengusul yaitu peningkatan aspek praktik dengan memberikan pelatihan perangkat lunak ITEMAN untuk menganalisis butir soal. Metode yang digunakan yaitu pendekatan partisipatoris yang melibatkan guru-guru kelompok mitra sekolah. Evaluasi setiap tahap dilakukan untuk menjamin setiap bagian berjalan dengan baik. Evaluasi secara umum dilakukan untuk melihat tingkat pengetahuan dan praktik mitra, sehingga dapat diyakinkan bahwa program tersebut terus berlanjut walaupun kegiatan pengabdian telah selesai dilaksanakan. Target yang diharapkan yaitu mitra mendapatkan bekal pemahaman dan keterampilan yang dapat digunakan secara mandiri untuk menentukan karakteristik butir soal pada suatu paket soal. Target capaian jenis luaran yang diharapkan yaitu adanya (1) publikasi ilmiah di jurnal/prosiding, (2) publikasi di media masa (cetak/elektronik), (3) peningkatan kuantitas dan kualitas produk, dan (4) peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan mitra.

Abstract

This study explores the influence of AI anxiety, organizational culture, socioeconomic status (SES), and previous technology experience on AI learning outcomes among university students. Utilizing a quantitative approach, data were collected from 368 students via an online survey. Structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was employed to analyze the data, revealing that AI anxiety, often considered a barrier, can enhance learning outcomes when managed effectively. The study further highlights the significant direct and indirect roles of organizational culture and SES in shaping AI learning, with AI anxiety acting as a mediator. The results underscore the importance of designing educational strategies that foster a balance between institutional support and individual autonomy, while addressing disparities in technological access across different social strata. These findings offer valuable implications for developing more inclusive, accessible, and effective AI educational practices. The findings suggest that while AI anxiety is generally seen as a negative factor, its potential to motivate students when effectively managed can be leveraged to enhance learning engagement. Furthermore, the research emphasizes the need for targeted interventions and policies that ensure equitable access to AI tools, particularly for students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds, to foster a more inclusive learning environment.
