Abstract

This study aims to determine the potential of districts in North Sumatra Province in an effort to increase rice production in North Sumatra Province. The type of data used in this study is secondary data. The basic method used is descriptive analysis research method. The analytical tool used is Shift Share Analysis (SSA). The results of this study indicate; 1) districts that have potential harvested area in North Sumatra Province are Nias Barat district, Mandailing Natal District, South Tapanuli District, North Padang Lawas Regency, Central Tapanuli Regency, South Nias Regency, Padang Sidempuan Regency, Gunung Sitoli Regency, Tapanuli Regency North, Simalungun Regency, Binjai Regency, Labuhan Batu Regency, Langkat Regency; 2) Districts that have rice production potential in North Sumatra Province are Nias Regency, West Nias Regency, Mandailing Natal Regency, Padang Lawas Utara Regency, South Nias Regency, Padang Sidempuan District Gunung Sitoli, Tapanuli Utara Regency, Toba Samosir Regency, Regency Simalungun, Karo Regency, Batu Bara Regency, Asahan Regency, Binjai Regency; 3) Districts in North Sumatra Province which are the most potential areas, in the harvest area is North Padang Lawas Regency and the most potential area in rice production is Simalungun Regency

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the factors that affect the adoption of technological innovation by farmers of rice paddies in the villages the district Percut Sei Tuan of the Deli Serdang. The results in the village of Kolam showed that the age of farmers to give effect to the adoption of technological innovation by farmers of rice paddies in the village Kolam where F-count of 2.694 and t-count of 2.301 and t-table 7.574 with the level of 5%. Education to give effect to the adoption of technological innovation by farmers of  rice paddies where F-count 2.694 and t-count of 1.148 and t-table7.574 with the level of 5%. The land gives effect to the adoption of technological innovation by farmers of rice paddies. Where F-count of 2.694 and t-count of 0.203 and t-table 7.574 with the level of 5%. Experience give effect to the adoption of technological innovation by farmers of rice paddies. Where F-count of 2.694 and t-count of 2.694 and t-table 7.574 with the level of 5%. Indonesian gives effect to the adoption of technological innovation by farmers of rice paddies. Where F-count of 17.889 and t-count of 4.230 and t-table 5.480 with the level of 5%.

Abstract

Barangan Banana is a commodity that is already popular in the community has very important economic and social value, the need for bananas continues to increase in line with the population and income level of the community. This study aims to determine what factors influence the demand for barangan bananas in Medan, in the Market Petisah kecamatan medan petisah North Sumatra province from Demand, Price, Number of Family Members up to Consumers income and Method used incidental sampling is a technique that is required when sampling, samples taken as many as 30 consumers who buy barangan bananas in petisah market separating Medan petisah , and the data collected are primary and secondary data, the analytical method used is multiple linear regression test with software tools namely SPSS 21, the highest price of barangan banana 18,000, the price of other bananas (Ambon) the highest 15,000, the number of family members inggi 6, the highest income of 5,000,000.The results of this study concluded that the factors that influence the demand for barangan bananas in medan city, the separating market in medan petisah sub-district. Simultaneously influential are the prices of barangan bananas, Ambon banana prices, family members, and consumer income significantly, this can be seen from t count 4.027 is greater than t-table 1.708.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of wages, work experience, age and training on labor productivity in harvesters of fresh fruit bunches in smallholder oil palm plantations in Hadundung Village, Kota Pinang District, Labuhanbatu Selatan Regency. This research was conducted from March to April 2020. This study used the sampling method by means of the census method. The sample used is 42 respondents. The samples in this study were smallholder oil palm plantation harvesters. Based on the research results obtained from the results of the t test on the Wage Level variable has a significant effect on Labor Productivity with a significant value of 0.002, the age variable has a significant effect on Labor Productivity. This can be seen from the significant value of 0.000, it can be concluded that the Age variable has a significant effect on Labor Productivity and Training has a significant effect on Labor Productivity. With a significant value of 0.001. Whereas experience has no effect on labor productivity. This can be seen from the significant value 0.516 0.05. So it can be concluded that the experience variable has no effect on labor productivity.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of leadership and work environment affect the performance of employees. The proposed hypothesis is the influence of leadership on the performance of the employee, the work environment influence on employee performance and simultaneously also in his second test as well. Samples were production employees at PT.Sinar Sosro Tajung Morawa Medan totaling 30 respondents. The sampling technique was random method. Methods of data collection using random methods, questionnaires, and interviews. Data analysis using Multiple Linear Regression and also using some test that is test validitas, realibity test, t test and f. Based on test results obtained Data Regression that that leadership and work environment greatly affect the performance of the employee, his great influence up to 86% to show that leadership and work environment in Tanjung Morawa at PT.Sinar Sosro very positive effect.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of learning agility on individual performance and Talent Management at PTPN IV, the largest BUMN Plantation with main commodities of CPO and Black Tea. Based on the formulation and the relationship between variables processed using the Partial Lest Square (PLS) Model and Smart PLS 3.0 software to 408 respondents who are employees with managerial positions. The results of the study show that there is a positive and significant influence between learning agility and individual performance and talent management.

Abstract

The cause of a company's declining income is close to employee performance, which is not optimal. So, an in-depth analysis is needed to see whether there are various causal factors. Therefore, this research wants to test whether work engagement, organizational culture, workload, and work stress influence employee performance. This research was conducted in the Gardens of Serdang District. The data collection method uses quantitative description. The research results show that work engagement has a positive and significant effect on employee performance with a significance level of 0.001 0.05, organizational culture has a positive and significant effect on employee performance with a significance level of 0.000 0.05, workload has a positive and significant effect on employee performance with a level of significance 0.038 0.05, Job stress has a positive and significant effect on employee performance with a significance level of 0.000 0.05, and simultaneously work engagement, organizational culture, workload and work stress have a significant effect on employee performance with a significance level of 0.000 0 .05. This research only focuses on four research variables, so other variables can still influence employee performance This research is fundamental because it will provide new knowledge that several things are important in improving employee performance. So it is concluded that all research variables have a positive and significant effect on employee performance.

Abstract

The main objective of this research is to find out the role of women in the people's coffee management system in North Sumatra. The approach in this research is qualitative. The population of this study comes from 5 city districts in North Sumatra including karo, dairi, humbang hasundutan, simalungun, north tapanuli and mandailing natal districts. The sampling technique uses incidental sampling, namely any female farmer who is found in the field and meets the criteria of the researcher, the sampling number used is 60 farmers. This research data analysis technique uses descriptive analysis. The results of data analysis show that in the management of smallholder coffee plantations in North Sumatra, women take a considerable share. Where 8 out of 10 jobs in coffee management are done by women, while 2 more things are done by men. The roles played by women in coffee management are Land Preparation, Seed Planting, Plant Maintenance, Fruit Picking, Fruit Processing, Seed Drying, Seed Cleaning, Storage, and Distribution, while Pest and Disease Control and seed Grinding are carried out by men.

Abstract

In efforts to minimize the use of inorganic fertilizers and support farmers in using and supplying organic fertilizers independently, the government facilitates providing assistance in the form of Organic Fertilizer Processing Units (UPPO). It is hoped that the availability of organic fertilizers can lead to organic farming. This study aims to determine the role of UPPO on the income of lowland rice farmers in Deli Serdang district and to analyze other factors besides UPPO that affect farmers' income. This research was conducted on eight beneficiary farmer groups spread over seven sub-districts in Deli Serdang district with a total population of 70 farmers. The research method uses analysis of validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, and regression analysis. The results showed that all research variables separately had a significant effect on farmers' income.

Abstract

Purpose: Lousy work by employees often leads to undesirable situations in bureaucracy. This study aims to assess the performance of civil servants employed by the Serdang Bedagai district administration regarding competency, work-life balance, motivation at work, and e-performance evaluation. Research methodology: The data gathering process involves the application of quantitative approaches. Results: The research findings show that the implementation of e-performance evaluation has a positive and significant impact on the performance of civil servants in the Serdang Bedagai Regency Government, with a significance level of 0.002 < 0.05. Additionally, competency had a positive and significant effect on the performance of civil servant employees in the Serdang Bedagai Regency Government, with a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05. Work-life balance positively and significantly affects civil servant performance in the Serdang Bedagai Regency Government, with a significance threshold of 0.020 < 0.05. Similarly, work motivation positively and significantly affects government officials' performance in the Serdang Bedagai Regency Government, at a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05. The concurrent implementation of e-performance evaluation, competency, work-life balance, and work motivation has been found to significantly impact the performance of civil servant personnel in the Serdang Bedagai Regency Government, with a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05. Limitations: The research problem only focuses on four variables; therefore, expanding the research to other variables is necessary.   Contribution:  This research will provide evidence that several sectors must be considered in government bureaucracy. Novelty: All research variables influence civil servants in Serdang Bedagai.
