Abstract

Abstract

The use of superior seeds in the community is still very limited, among other things, due to the low knowledge of farmers about superior seeds and the very low ability of farmers to buy seeds because of the very high prices. in meeting the certified palm oil seed market it is necessary to use cost analysis and strategies in developing certified palm oil seeds to farmers in increasing oil palm production and increasing farmers' income in utilising the land area owned. The purpose of this study is to determine the comparison of the cost analysis of the procurement of certified oil palm seeds CV. Gotama and CV. BSM and development strategies carried out in the procurement of certified oil palm seeds. Research Methods This research uses primary data approaches and secondary data. sample withdrawal in this study is the census method or other names, namely the type of Non Probability Sampling, namely CV. Gotama and CV. Bumi Sriwijaya Mandiri with cost and strategy analysis methods. The results showed that the revenue generated at CV. Gotama worth Rp. 8,220,634,998 and at CV. BSM worth Rp. 7,589,670,856. This means that the income generated by CV. Gotama in value is greater than CV.BSM but with the total production produced CV.BSM can streamline production and production prices and swot analysis, namely Quadrant I. Which means the company has an advantageous situation. Cv Gotama and Cv Bumi Sriwajaya Mandiri have opportunities and strengths so that they can take advantage of existing opportunities.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance environmental awareness and promote sustainable organic waste management practices among members of the Kelompok Tani Sapindo in Desa Tumpatan Nibung through eco enzyme production training. Conducted in collaboration with local agricultural stakeholders, the program targeted farmers as key agents in adopting eco-friendly practices within rural communities. The activity introduced participants to the concept, benefits, and step-by-step procedures for producing eco enzymes using organic waste such as fruit and vegetable scraps. A combination of lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on sessions ensured that participants acquired both conceptual understanding and practical competence. As a result, farmers not only learned how to produce eco enzymes but also gained the capacity to apply them as natural fertilizers and pest repellents in their agricultural routines. This initiative is expected to support environmentally sustainable farming methods and cultivate a culture of waste-to-resource transformation within the community. The program received positive responses, emphasizing the importance of empowering rural communities with simple, cost-effective, and impactful green innovations.

Abstract

The sustainable management of palm oil plantations poses significant challenges, particularly in ensuring long-term efficiency and environmental sustainability. This study explores the impact of using Palm Oil Mill (PKS) waste as an organic fertilizer on enhancing the management efficiency of palm oil plantations. Using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), we evaluated plantation management efficiency at PT. Padasa Enam Utama over the period 2020-2023. Strengths of the Data Envelopment Analysis model include its objectivity and capacity to rate efficiency using numerical data rather than subjective opinions. The input variables included labor costs, fertilizer use, and land area, while output variables encompassed productivity and financial profits. Results reveal that average efficiency in 2020 was 0.85, categorizing it as “inefficient.” By 2021, efficiency improved to 0.92, achieving a “moderately efficient” status, and further rose to 0.95 in 2022, reaching “efficient” status. In 2023, efficiency slightly decreased to 0.94, though it remained within the efficient range. Findings suggest that PKS waste application significantly enhances plantation management efficiency, particularly through optimizing input and output variables. Additionally, employing PKS waste as organic fertilizer provides an eco-friendly alternative that reduces dependency on chemical fertilizers, contributing to sustainable farming practices. Research implications can contribute to supporting policies on the utilization of PKS waste to support more sustainable oil palm plantations.
