Abstract

This article discusses how films set in Minangkabau culture can be used as an effective platform to enable students to understand Minangkabau culture and the target language. Through films, students broaden their understanding of culture, language, geography, sociolinguistics, socioeconomic, socio-political and educational in Minang society. This article describes how a small number of films set in Minangkabau culture have been used at different skill levels in language programs in schools as one of the local content subjects, especially schools located in West Sumatra with the majority of the Minang community. It also examines the role of films in the teaching and learning process, and how watching films strengthens classroom activities such as discussions, and debates and activities outside the classroom such as interviews and research on topics related to the films. To explore student feedback on this process, there was a discussion about responses to watching the film. It is proposed that three main issues need to be considered: film choice; development of lesson plans; and possible efficiency is obtained by asking students to watch movies. In conclusion, it is argued that the combination of these strategies demonstrates how films set in Minangkabau culture can be used in innovative ways to teach Minang language and culture in West Sumatra. Development of lesson plans; and possible efficiency is obtained by asking students to watch movies.

Abstract

Online Lectures are the main means of learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. It was unavoidable at that time, the campus was conducting online lectures from home due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but lecturers and students continued to conduct online-based lectures or Virtual Class through various applications, one of which was Zoom Meeting. The application of Zoom Meetings is still very common for students because usually lecturers teach face-to-face. The purpose of this article is to find out the effectiveness of implementing Virtual Class with Zoom Meetings in Indonesian language teaching evaluation lectures. The method used is quantitative in the form of filling out questionnaires through Google Forms for students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program at PGRI West Sumatra University who are taking the Indonesian Language Teaching Evaluation course in the odd semester of 2021/2022 totaling 34 students. From the results of the descriptive survey, it was found that the Zoom Meeting was less effective in evaluating Indonesian language teaching, but it was effective in virtual classroom learning and could be used as an online learning application. So it can be concluded that students can still continue their lectures in a virtual class or indirectly by using a zoom meeting in the process of evaluating Indonesian language teaching evaluation lectures.

Abstract

Abstrak Permasalahan yang melatarbelakangi penelitian ini adalah masih banyak Guru Bahasa Indonesia Kelas X SMA Negeri 15 Padang mengalami kesulitan dalam menganalisis tingkat validitasan model pembelajaran yang akan diujikan kepada siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 15 Padang. Di samping itu, Guru Bahasa Indonesia Kelas X SMA Negeri 15 Padang belum pernah melakukan analisis validitas model pembelajaran yang diujikan kepada siswa sehingga Guru Bahasa Indonesia Kelas X SMA Negeri 15 Padang tersebut tidak pernah mengetahui apa saja sistem pendukung dalam penerapan model pembelajaran yang akan diujikan kepada siswa-siswinya. Ini menyebabkan tujuan pembelajaran tidak dapat tercapai dengan baik dan maksimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bentuk validitas Model Sharing Reading Literacy serta tingkat validitas Model Sharing Reading Literacy yang valid  akan diterapkan oleh Guru kepada siswa Kelas X SMA Negeri 15 Padang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang menggunakan desain pembelajaran menurut Dick dan Carey. Subjek pada penelitian ini yaitu Tim Validator. Berdasarkan analisis data dan pembahasaan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa hasil validasi isi tergolong valid yaitu: validiasi isi dengan nilai 60 atau kategori cukup valid sedangkan untuk hasil validasi konstruk tergolong sangat valid yaitu 100.    Abstract The problem behind this research is that there are still many Indonesian language teachers in Class X SMA Negeri 15 Padang having difficulty in analyzing the level of validity of the learning model that will be tested on Class X students at SMA Negeri 15 Padang. Besides that, the Indonesian Class X teacher of SMA Negeri 15 Padang has never conducted an analysis of the validity of the learning model that was tested on students. So that the Class X Indonesian teacher of SMA Negeri 15 Padang never knew what the support system was in implementing the learning model that would be tested on his students. So that the learning objectives cannot be achieved properly and optimally. This study aims to see the form of validity of the Sharing Reading Literacy Model and the level of validity of the valid Sharing Reading Literacy model that will be applied by the teacher to Class X students of SMA Negeri 15 Padang. This research is a development research that uses a Dick and Carey model. However, in this research, only up to the development stage (develop). The subject of this research is the validator team. Based on data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that the content validation results are valid, namely . Content validation 60 with quite valid category. Meanwhile, the results of construct validation are classified as very valid, namely 100.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk dan fungsi Tindak Tutur Perlokusi dalam Buku Teks Pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia Kelas VII Terbitan Kementrian Pendidikan, Kebudatyaaan, Riset, dan Teknologi Republik Indonesia Tahun 2021. Metode yang diterapkan dalam penelitian ini merupakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data pada penelitian ini adalah burupa kalimat tindak tutur perlokusi yang digunakan penulis dalam teks non sastra. Sumber data dari penelitian ini yaitu sebuah teks non sastra. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif analisis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat bentuk tindak tutur berupa (1) bentuk tindak tutur deklaratif memutuskan, melarang, dan mengizinkan, (2) bentuk tindak tutur respresentatif menyatakan, menunjukkan, melaporkan, dan menyebutkan (3) bentuk tindak tutur ekspresif mengeluh, mengucapkan selamat, memuji, dan menyanjung (4) bentuk tindak tutur direktif meminta, mengajak, menyarankan, memerintah, memohon dan (5) bentuk tindak tutur komisif meyatakan kesanggupan. Dan fungsi tindak tutur perlokusi berupa (1) fungsi instrumental menyebabkan peristiwa-peristiwa tertentu terjadi (2) fungsi representasional berupa pernyataan-pernyataan, menyampaikan fakta-fakta dan pengetahuan, menjelaskan dan melaporkan (3) fungsi interaksional berupa tuturan dalam menjalin dan memantapkan hubungan antara penutur dan petutur (4) fungsi personal mengekspresikan perasaan, serta reaksi-reaksi yang dalam (5) fungsi heuristik berupa memperoleh ilmu pengetahuan.

Abstract

Deiksis yang rujukannya berubah-ubah sering ditemukan dalam karya sastra, salah satunya adalah novel. Penelitian ini difokuskan pada deiksis sosial yang terdapat dalam tuturan K.H. Hasyim Asy’ari pada novel Mahaguru karya Damien Dematra. Di bawah pengaruh dan terikat oleh perkembangan teknologi, masyarakat Indonesia banyak yang melupakan kaidah-kaidah komunikasi yang sopan dalam berkomunikasi. Deiksis sosial digunakan sebagai petunjuk kesantunan bahasa dalam suatu masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk dan makna deiksis sosial dalam tuturan K.H. Hasyim Asy’ari pada novel Mahaguru karya Damien Dematra. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian kualitatif, dengan metode deskriptif. Hasil penelitian dari bentuk dan makna deiksis sosial dalam tuturan K.H. Hasyim Asy’ari pada novel Mahaguru karya Damien Dematra yang ditemukan, yakni 4 deiksis sosial jenis kelamin, 6 deiksis sosial usia, 2 deiksis sosial jabatan, 2 deiksis sosial pendidikan, 8 deiksis sosial profesi, 12 deiksis sosial julukan, 10 deiksis sosial sapaan, dan 2 deiksis sosial gelar. Makna deiksis sosial dalam tuturan K.H. Hasyim Asy’ari pada novel Mahaguru karya Damien Dematra adalah makna dari kata atau frasa yang rujukannya tidak tetap, yaitu berdasarkan perbedaan sosial yang terjadi dalam peristiwa tutur.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze pragmatic aspects in Indonesian language textbooks at junior high school (SMP) level. The research method used is qualitative analysis of the texts in the selected textbooks. Data was collected through observation of speech acts in the text, including language use, communicative context, and pragmatic implicatures contained therein. The results of the analysis show that middle school Indonesian language textbooks generally pay attention to pragmatic aspects in selecting and compiling texts, but there are still several shortcomings in their application. Some of these shortcomings include the use of language that is not appropriate to the communicative context, as well as a lack of emphasis on pragmatic aspects which are important in learning Indonesian. The implication of this research is the importance of greater attention to pragmatic aspects in preparing Indonesian language textbooks, to ensure that the texts presented can provide students with a better understanding of language use in various communicative situations.

Abstract

Berpikir spasial dibutuhkan oleh siswa dalam memahami pembelajaran geografi di SMA. Pemetaan kemampuan berpikir spasial oleh guru diawal pembelajaran dapat memudahkan guru dalam menyusun modul ajar sesuai dengan kurikulum merdeka. Pada artikel ini, tujuan penelitian ini melakukan identifikasi kemampuan berpikir spasial siswa pada materi atmosfer di SMA. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 324 siswa. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan metode survei terhadap siswa kelas X (Fase E) SMAN 15 Padang. Instrumen berpikir spasial terdiri dari indikator komprehensif, representasi, skala, interaksi spasial, aplikasi dan analisis. Instrumen penelitian telah divalidasi dengan nilai cronbach alfa < 0.709. Responden dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 66 siswa fase E. Hasil penelitian membuktikan rata-rata kemampuan berpikir spasial pada materi atmosfer siswa SMAN 15 Padang berada pada tingkatan sedang dengan nilai sebesar 50,3%. Penilaian secara detail setiap indikator berpikir spasial dijelaskan dalam artikel ini. Pemetaan lebih awal kemampuan berpikir spasial siswa SMA dibutuhkan dalam memudahkan proses pembelajaran geografi sesuai dengan kemampuan siswa masing-masing.

Abstract

Developing spatial thinking in students remains a challenge for many geography teachers in Indonesia. This study examined the process of developing spatial thinking skills in learning styles. Therefore, a relevant learning model is required for developing spatial thinking skills. This research aimed to determine: 1) the effect of earthcomm learning on spatial thinking skills, 2) the effect of learning styles on spatial thinking skills, and 3) the relationship of earthcomm learning and learning styles on spatial thinking skills. The study used a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control pretest-posttest. The data were obtained using a questionnaire to test learning style and spatial thinking ability that had been validated and assessed for normality and reliability. The research population were first-grade students (grade X) in SMAN 15 Padang, West Sumatra. The research sample consists of students from Social Class 2 (X IPS 2) as the control group and students from Social Class 3 (X IPS 3) as the experimental group. The research data were analyzed using the ANOVA technique from the SPSS 25 for Windows. The findings indicated that: 1) earthcomm learning has an effect on spatial thinking skills, 2) learning style has no significant effect on spatial thinking skills, and 3) there is no interaction between earthcomm learning and learning style on spatial thinking skills. This study provided a comprehensive discussion of the research findings.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh permasalahan kemampuan siswa dalam menggunakan kaidah kebahasaan dalam teks prosedur yang ditulis siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kaidah kebahasaan dalam teks prosedur siswa kelas VII SMPN 3 Bayang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah berupa kaidah kebahasaan dalam teks prosedur siswa kelas VII SMPN 3 Bayang. Sedangkan sumber data penelitian ini adalah hasil tulisan teks prosedur siswa yang ditulis oleh siswa kelas VII SMPN 3 Bayang yang berjumlah 22 orang siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis isi. Teknik pengabsahan pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik triangulasi. Hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa jika dianalisis dari kaidah kebahasaan teks prosedur siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Bayang masih banyak ditemukan kesalahan. Penggunaan kalimat imperatif, konjungsi temporal, dan keterangan cara umumnya sudah tepat. Namun penggunaan penunjuk waktu dan deskripsi alat masih banyak yang belum tepat dan belum menggunakannya. Sedangkan penggunaan urutan langkah kegiatan dan kata teknis tidak digunakan pada teks prosedur siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Bayang. Hal ini relevan dengan penelitian yang dilakukan sebelumnya oleh Indah Rahma Fitri dan Zulfikarti yang menemukan bahwa masih banyak siswa yang belum mampu menggunakan kaidah kebahasaan teks prosedur dengan tepat.

Abstract

Describe the form of directive speech acts of Indonesian teachers for class VIII in the teaching and learning process at SMP Negeri 5 Sungai Beremas. The type of research used in this research is a qualitative type. The method used in this research is descriptive method. The data in this study are in the form of directive speech acts of Indonesian teachers at SMP Negeri 5 Sungai Beremas in the teaching and learning process. The data source for this research is the speech of an Indonesian language teacher during the teaching and learning process from the beginning to the end of the lesson. research instruments used in research are recording devices such as; cellphone. For notes such as; pen, paper, or small notes, and other writing tools The data collection stage in this study used the listening or listening method. The data validation technique used in this study is a detailed description. The results of this study First, the form of directive speech acts used by teachers in learning at SMP Negeri 5 Sungai Beremas, there are five forms, namely, directive speech acts ordering, speech acts begging, directive speech acts suggesting, directive speech acts asking questions, directive speech acts prohibiting . Second, from the utterances that have been analyzed in SMP Negeri 5 Sungai Beremas the most dominant utterance or the most frequently used by the teacher in learning is the directive act of asking questions.
