Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengekplorasi kemampuan mahasiswa program studi matematika dalam menganalisis materi secara berkelompok. Subyek penelitian sebanyak 42 mahasiswa program studi matematika yang mengikuti mata kuliah dasar-dasar penelitian pendidikan matematika. Ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan 3 siklus. Subyek penelitian dibagi dalam delapan kelompok, masing-masing beranggota 5-6 mahasiswa. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran di kelas menggunakan pembelajaran kooperatif resiprokal  berbantuan e-learning edmodo. Investigasi kemampuan mahasiswa dalam menganalisis materi dilakukan dengan cara mengamati berlangsungnya kegiatan diskusi kelompok, dan dari laporan hasil kerja tertulis. Di samping itu data penelitian dapat diperoleh melalui presentasi dan diskusi kelas. Kinerja mahasiswa dalam kelompok ketika menganalisis  aturan atau pedoman, misalnya buku panduan penulisan skripsi, tugas akhir, dan karya ilmiah tampak meliputi aspek kegiatan membaca, mengeksplorasi, dan mempresentasikan. Dalam menganalisis jurnal ilmiah kegiatan mahasiswa dalam kelompok meliputi aspek membaca, merencanakan, menganalisis, mengeksplorasi, dan memverifikasi. Dalam  mempresentasikan hasil diskusinya menunjukkan adanya aspek menanya, menjelaskan, memprediksi, dan meringkas. Dalam memecahkan masalah secara berkelompok, mahasiswa bersikap disiplin, aktif, dan bertanggungjawab.The purpose of this study is to explore the ability of students of mathematics to analyze the material in groups. The research subjects were 42 students of mathematics who followed the course the basics of mathematics education research. It is classroom action research (CAR) with 3 cycles. The subjects were divided into eight groups, each student membered 5-6. Implementation of classroom learning using reciprocal aided cooperative learning Edmodo e-learning. Investigation of students’ ability to analyze the material is done by observing the course of the group discussions, and reports the results of the written work. In addition, research data could be collected through presentations and class discussions. Performance of the students in the group when analyzing the rules or guidelines, for example guidebooks thesis writing, thesis and scientific papers appear include aspects of reading, exploring, and presenting. In analyzing the scientific journal of student activities in the group include aspects of reading, plan, analyze, explore, and verify. In the present discussion results indicate aspects ask, explain, predict, and summarize. In solving problems in a group of students, they were being discipline, active, and responsible.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah penggunaan alat peraga dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar dan keaktifan siswa mata diklat matematika kompetensi menerapkan konsep teori peluang di kelas X AP B Semester 2 SMK Negeri 1 Bawen. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X AP B SMK Negeri 1 Bawen sebanyak 35 siswa. Prosedur penelitian dimulai dengan penetapan fokus masalah, perencanaan tindakan, pelaksanaan tindakan dan pengamatan, serta analisis dan refleksi. Teknik pngambilan data melalui teknik tes, observasi dan angket. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh yaitu penggunaan alat peraga dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika dan keaktifan siswa dalam menerapkan konsep teori peluang siswa kelas X AP B SMK N 1 Bawen semester 2 tahun pelajaran 2014/2015. Keadaan tersebut dibuktikan oleh hasil analisis data bahwa terjadi peningkatan nilai rata-rata dari 60,6 menjadi 85,4 dan peningkatan prosentase siswa yang tunta belajar, yaitu dari 57,15% menjadi 94,29%. Dari hasil tersebut disarankan sebaiknya guru mengembangkan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan alat peraga pada materi pelajaran yang lain dan guru cepat menganalisis setiap permasalahan yang ada dalam pembelajaran

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa melalui pembelajaran model Taba berbantuan Geometer’s Sketchpad (GSP) pada materi segiempat. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah the non-equivalent control group de-sign yang merupakan bagian dari kuasi eksperimen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII SMP N 1 Jepara tahun pelajaran 2012/2013. Hasil penelitian menunjuk-kan: (1) kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa pada kelas eksperimen 1 dan kelas eksperimen 2 mencapai ketuntasan belajar klasikal; (2) terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa pada kelas eksperimen 1, kelas eksperimen 2, dan kelas kontrol; dan (3) pada kelas eksperi-men 1 terdapat peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa pada materi segiempat de-ngan kategori sedang. Dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa pem-belajaran model Taba berbantuan GSP dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa pada materi segiempat. Kata kunci:      Geometer’s Sketchpad (GSP); Kemampuan Berpikir Kreatif; Model Pembelajaran Taba  AbstractThis research aimed to increase students' creative thinking ability through the Taba learning model assisted by Geometer's Sketchpad (GSP) in quadrilateral material. Research design that used is the non-equivalent control group design, part of a quasi-experiment. The population in this research were students of grade VII SMP N 1 Jepara 2012/2013 academic year. The results showed: (1) the creative thinking ability of students in the 1st experimental class and the 2nd experimental class could achieve classical minimum mastery criteria; (2) there is a difference in the students' creative thinking ability among the 1st experimental class, the 2nd experimental class, and the control class; and (3) in the 1st experimental class there is an increase in students' creative thinking ability with medium category. The conclusion of this experiment is the Taba learning model assisted by GSP can increase students’ creative thinking ability. Keywords: Creative Thinking Ability; Geometer’s Sketchpad (GSP); The Taba Learning Model

Abstract

Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis secara komprehensif pencapaian kemampuan koneksi matematis mahasiswa sebagai akibat dari penerapan Brain-Based Learning Berbantuan Web dan pembelajaran konvensional. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika Jurusan Matematika salah satu perguruan tinggi di Jawa Tengah, sedangkan sampelnya adalah mahasiswa yang sedang menempuh Mata Kuliah Kalkulus Integral. Sampel diambil secara acak sehingga didapatkan satu kelompok eksperimen yang mendapatkan Brain-Based Learning Berbantuan Web dan satu kelompok yang mendapatkan pembelajaran konvensional. Hasil penelitian ini adalah (1) Pencapaian kemampuan koneksi matematis mahasiswa yang mendapatkan Brain-Based Learning Berbantuan Web setara dengan mahasiswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran konvensional baik secara keseluruhan maupun berdasarkan kemampuan awal matematis mahasiswa; (2) Keaktifan mahasiswa yang mendapat Brain-Based Learning Berbantuan Web lebih tinggi dibandingkan mahasiswa yang mendapat pembelajaran konvensional; (3) Sebagian besar mahasiswa memilih Brain-Based Learning Berbantuan Web untuk mata kuliah Kalkulus.The main purpose of this research is to analyze comprehensively the achievement of students’ mathematical connection ability as the result of  implementation of web-assisted brain-based learning and conventional learning. This research used quantitative methods. The sample was groups of students in the Study Program of Mathematics Education who enrolled in Integral Calculus course. From this study programs, two sample groups (experiment group and control group) were selected randomly. An experiment group was taught by using web-assisted brain-based learning, while the other group (control group) was taught by using conventional learning. Result from this research are (1) The achievement of the students’ mathematical connection ability who were taught by using web-assisted brain-based learning are similary than the achievement of those who were taught by using conventional learning; (2) The activity of students who get Web Assisted Brain-Based Learning is higher than students who get conventional learning; (3) Most students choose Web-Assisted Brain-Based Learning for Calculus courses.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan, (1) mengetahui efektivitas pembelajaran dengan model round club dengan self assessment bernuansa etnomatematika materi garis dan sudut efektif. (2) mendeskripsikan kemampuan komunikasi matematis pada pembelajaran round club dengan self assessment bernuansa etnomatematika berdasarkan gaya kognitif.Metode kombinasi desain sequential exploratory digunakan untuk menjawab rumusan masalah dengan metode kuantitatif dan kualitatif secara berurutan. Subjek uji coba penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 2 Jepara. Untuk metode kualitatif dilakukan tes gaya kognitif. Dari hasil pretest kelas dibagi dalam tiga kelompok yaitu kelompok FD, FID dan FI dengan rincian subjek 6 siswa pilihan.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran round club dengan self assessment bernuansa etnomatematika efektif terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis, hal ini dikarenakan (1) mencapai presentase kemampuan komunikasi matematis peserta didik mencapai kriteria ketuntasan individual, yaitu 75% siswa kelas eksperimen 1 tuntas secara klasikal; (2) ada perbedaan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang mendapat model pembelajaran round club dengan self assessment bernuansa etnomatematika dengan pembelajaran ekspositori, (3) ada perbedaan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang mendapat model round club dengan pembelajaran ekspositori, (4) ada peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang mendapat model pembelajaran round club dengan self assessment bernuansa etnomatematika, model pembelajaran round club maupun pembelajaran eskpositori. Dari hasil pengujian diperoleh bahwa Kelas Eksperimen 1 meningkat 58,87%, Kelas Eksperimen 2 meningkat 39,81% dan Kelas Kontrol meningkat 23,47%.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk (1) mengetahui keefektifan pembelajaran Jigsaw metode Probing - Prompting dengan SLOA terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika (KPMM); (2) mendeskripsikan KPMM siswa metakognisi tinggi, metakognisi sedang dan rendah. Tipe penelitian mixed method ini adalah concurrent embedded. Subyek penelitian ditetapkan dengan kuesioner dan wawancara metakognisi. Keefektifan pembelajaran didasarkan pada analisis hasil tes KPMM yang diuji dengan Wilcoxon test dan U Mann Whitney test. Hasil analisis kuantitatif, disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran Jigsaw - Probing Prompting dengan SLOA efektif terhadap KPMM dan pembelajaran tersebut berkualitas baik. Berdasarkan analisis data kualitatif, dideskripsikan (a) KPMM siswa metakognisi tinggi, memenuhi keempat kriteria; (b) KPMM siswa matakognisi sedang, memenuhi dua kriteria; dan (c) KPMM siswa metakognisi rendah, hanya memenuhi satu kriteria, dari empat kriteria KPMM. Beberapa kendala ditemui selama pembelajaran, oleh karenanya disarankan untuk mempersiapkan lembar kerja yang intruksi kerjanya lebih terperinci untuk memudahkan proses probing- prompting dan lebih memonitor peserta didik metakognisi rendah supaya lebih terbiasa melakukan refleksi dan monitoring terhadap penyelesaian masalahnya. The purpose of this research to (1) knowing the effectiveness of Cooperatif Learning Jigsaw - Probing Prompting Whith SLOA to the mathematics problem solving ability; (2) describe the mathematics problem solving ability of students in hight metacognition (SHM), medium metacognitions (SMM) and low metacognitions (SLM). Type mix method in this research is concurrent embedded. The sample determinet of interview and metacognition queisioner. The effectiveness learning is based on the analysis of results the test of mathematics problem solving ability whit Wilcoxon test and U Mann Whitney test. Based on the results of the quantitative data analysis obtained that this learning effective to mathematics problem solving and this learning is good quality. Based on qualitative data analysis, described of the mathematics problem solving ability in (a) SHM that the students meet the four Standard; (b) SMM that the students meet the two Standard; and (c) SLM that students only one standard from four standard of problem solving by NCTM. From obstacles as research recommended so that completed instructions in worksheet for probing- prompting and more attention to students in the low metacognition so get used monitor and reflect on there prosess of mathematical problem solving.

Abstract

Student’s mathematical connections ability at SMK Syubbanul Wathon Tegalrejo Magelang is still low. Students are not able to relate concepts in, link the mathematical concepts to other subjects, and to problems in daily life. The study aims to describe the process of discovery learning model with scientific approach, find out the effectiveness of discovery learning of scientific approach to the student’s mathematical connection ability, and to describe the mathematical connection ability of XII graders of SMK Syubbanul Wathon on differential functions based on the characteristics of student’s way of thinking. This study used mixed method of concurrent embedded design. The sample was chosen by random sampling, XII-G3 (control class, XII-G4 (experiment class 1), and XII-G6 (experiment class 2) as quantitative data sources. Meanwhile, for the source of qualitative data, it was obtained by taking two CS students, two AS students, two CR students, two AR students. The result of the research shows that (1) the discovery learning scientific approach process in improving the students’ mathematical connection ability is good, (2) the discovery learning model with the scientific approach is effective, and (3)The characteristics student’s way of thinking also affects the students' mathematical connections ability.

Abstract

Problem solving activities require students to apply mathematics rules on non-routine problems. Mathematical connection ability is required so that students can relate real problems to mathematical model nor relate the interrelationships between the concepts that required to solve problems. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of MEA in geometry and to analyze the mathematical connections ability of students in geometry based on upper, middle, and lower spatial intelligence categories on MEA. The research method is Mixed Methods and research design is Sequential Explanatory Design. The subjects of the study is the 9th grade students. The study started by first spatial intelligence test in experimental class, then followed by MEA learning in experimental class and expository learning in control class. The study ended by mathematical connection ability test in experimental and control classes and last spatial intelligence test in experimental class. The results showed that MEA learning in geometry were effective. The result of mathematical connection ability in geometry of upper spatial intelligence category students has reached five indicators of mathematical connection ability well. Students of middle spatial intelligence category on first, second and fourth indicators have been maximized, but third and fifth indicators have not been maximized. Students of lower spatial intelligence category on first indicator have been maximized, second indicator has not been maximized, while third, fourth and fifth indicators can not be achieved well. Teachers should know the spatial intelligence of students so that the learning process especially in geometry achieve maximum results.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to determine the effectiveness of POGIL learning with ethnomathematics towards students’ mathematical literacy skills. The population in this study were X graders students of State Senior High School 6 Cirebon in the academic year of 2015/2016. This study used quantitative methods. The sample was chosen by random sampling and it was obtained the class of X 1 as a control class with conventional learning and X 2 as an experiment class with POGIL model learning with ethnomathematics. The data collection methods were tests of mathematical literacy skills. The data analysis used was completeness test and average difference test. The results show that (1) the average mathematical literacy skill in POGIL learning with ethnomathematics has achieved classical completeness, it is at least 75% of students achieve a minimum score of 70; (2) the average class of mathematics literacy ability in POGIL learning with ethnomathematics is better than conventional learning class. From these results, it is said that POGIL learning with ethnomathematics is effective.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of discovery learning with a performance assessment of students 'mathematical literacy and analyze students' mathematical literacy based on visual-spatial intelligence. This study used a mixed method with concurrent embedded. Subjects of this studi were 7th grade students of SMP An Nur Ungaran 2017/2018 school year. The results of the study show that discovery learning with performance assessment effective of students' mathematical literacy. Students with high visual-spatial intelligence can reach each indicator well, although some indicators have insignificant errors. Students with middle visual-spatial intelligence have significant errors on each indicator. Students with low visual-spatial intelligence cannot achieve every indicator of mathematical literacy. Found uniqueness in students with high visual-spatial intelligence, namely with the presence of images contained in the problem, students are helped to understand the problem presented. Understanding or communication is the main key for students to continue the next stage of mathematical literacy. However, students with high visual-spatial intelligence are constrained in algebraic material.
