Abstract

Islamic education is often perceived as less relevant to contemporary demands due to its textual and normative approach. This research seeks to explore the rational perspectives of religious-rational Islamic thinkers regarding the compatibility of the Islamic education system in the 21st century, focusing on the scholars classified by Jawwad Ridla; Ikhwan Al-Shafa', Al-Farabi, Ibn Miskawaih, and Ibn Sina. Each thinker will be examined for their contributions to the Islamic education paradigm. This literature review aims to trace manuscripts, articles, and books related to the rationality of these thinkers and their views on the Islamic education system in the 21st century. The findings reveal the religious-rational epistemology of Islamic education and the perspectives of these thinkers on the compatibility of the Islamic education system with 21st-century needs. These four religious-rational Islamic thinkers collectively provide comprehensive insights into an Islamic education system that can be deemed appropriate for the current century. The implications of this research could enrich the discourse on modern Islamic thought by bridging traditional religious views with rational, modern approaches, thereby identifying Islamic universal values that remain relevant, applicable, and competitive in addressing the challenges of the 21st century and supporting the evolution of Islamic thought amidst contemporary dynamics.

Abstract

Penulisan ini membahas bagaimana merawat pluralism dan demokrasi di Indonesia melalui kontribusi kontribusi komunitas Gusdurian di Kota Makassar? Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Dalam penelitian ini, data diperoleh melalui field research (penelitian lapangan) yaitu mengkaji dan menganalisa literatur-literatur yang berkaitan dengan objek penelitian. Penelitian ini menggunakan beberapa pendekatan yaitu pendekatan sosiologis dan pendekatan fenomenologi agama. Adapun metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan penulis dalam penelitian ini yaitu melalui tahapan heuristik, kritik sumber, interpretasi dan historiografi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pertama, Komunitas Gusdurian Makassar merupakan sebuah komunitas yang berdiri pada tahun 2013 sebagai arena sinergis bagi para murid, pengagum dan penerus pemikiran serta perjuangan Gus Dur di Makassar. Kedua, Peranan komunitas Gusdurian dalam merawat pluralisme dan demokrasi, melalui berbagai kegiatan yang diselenggarakan seperti pojok kampus, kelas pemikiran Gus Dur, dialog lintas agama, gusdurian peduli clean the city, haul Gus Dur, Kampanye media sosil, aktivitas advokasi, ngaji demokrasi, workshop keberagaman gender dan forum bulanan. Ketiga, respon masyarakat terhadap eksistensi komunitas Gusdurian Makassar dalam merawat pluralisme dan demokrasi ditanggapi bahwa gerakan ini menjadi salah satu wadah dalam memperkuat memperkuat keberagaman tersebut yang mampu diwujudkan dalam bentuk kepedulian.

Abstract

This article discusses the application of the Team Assisted Individualisation (TAI) cooperative learning model in an effort to increase students' interest in learning Fiqh. This study aims to describe the process of implementing the TAI model and analyse the increase in students' interest in learning after the model was implemented. The research used a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design conducted in two cycles. The research subjects were 29 fourth-grade students at MI DDI 1 Palopo. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and documentation, then analysed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results showed a significant increase in learning interest from cycle I to cycle II. In cycle I, the average level of learning interest reached 78% (moderate category), while in cycle II it increased to 85.25% (high category). These findings indicate that the TAI cooperative learning model can be an effective alternative to increase students' interest in learning Fiqh.
