Abstract

The research's background is students' poor representation skills.  This investigation sought to determine how the Adversity Quotient (AQ) and Missouri Mathematics Project (MMP) learning models affected students' capacity for representation of mathematics. During the even semester of the 2023–2024 school year, this research was conducted at one of the MTs in South Tangerang City. Using the cluster random sampling method, 45 learners were chosen for the study, 23 of them were from the experimental class and 22 from the control class. Each class is divided into three levels of AQ which are students with Quitters, Camper, and Climber types. This study used a design similar to an experiment with a control group that was only included in the post-test. The data analysis technique used is two-way ANOVA testing. The findings of the investigation indicate that 1) students' mathematical modeling skills are influenced by their acquisition of model; 2) students' mathematical representation skills are influenced by the AQ type; and 3) there is no interaction effect between the AQ type and learning model on pupils mathematically illustration skills.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of attack and distribution of Argentine flies (Cecidochares connexa) as biological control agents against Siamese weed (Chromolaena odorata) in Gunungkidul Regency. The method used was a field survey in June–July 2024, with direct observation and sampling of host plants in four cardinal directions from the starting point of release (Wanagama I Forest). The parameters observed included the percentage of attacks, the number of puru, and puru holes per plant. The results showed that the highest attacks occurred in the Western region (72%), followed by the South (69%), the North (68%), and the East (49%). The average attack across the region reached 65%.  C. connexa has become widespread and established in the Gunungkidul area.

Abstract

Abstract

The era of globalization has brought various significant changes in people's lives, including in the field of education. Islamic education, as an education system rooted in religious values, faces complex challenges in responding to this global phenomenon. This paper aims to explore Islamic education strategies that can be applied to overcome the problems that arise due to globalization. The method used in this study is a literature study that examines literature related to Islamic education and the impact of globalization on education. The findings suggest that Islamic education needs to integrate spiritual and moral values in the curriculum, as well as utilize information and communication technologies to improve the quality of teaching. In addition, collaboration between educational institutions, families, and society is also the key to shaping the character of the younger generation who are able to compete globally without losing their identity as Muslims. Thus, the implementation of a holistic and adaptive educational strategy is expected to answer the challenges of the times and prepare individuals who are not only intellectually intelligent but also have good morals.

Abstract

In the post-truth era, where emotional narratives often overshadow facts, digital natives encounter increasing challenges in identifying credible information. This study examines the critical digital literacy of Indonesian university students, focusing on their habits and perceptions in verifying information from online sources. Using a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected from eight students through semi-structured interviews, observational notes, and open-ended questionnaires, and then analyzed thematically. The findings reveal that 75 percent of participants admitted to having believed hoaxes at least once, while only 3 out of 8 consistently verify content before sharing. Platforms such as TikTok and Instagram were the most frequently used sources of information. Trust was often based on virality, familiarity, or emotional appeal rather than the credibility of the source. Some respondents viewed truth as what is widely accepted or repeated within their social circles. Notably, those who had personal experiences with misinformation developed a stronger awareness of the need for fact-checking. This study highlights a paradox between students’ digital skills and their critical literacy. It suggests that epistemic authority is shifting from academic or institutional sources to influencers and peer networks. The research calls for higher education curricula to incorporate critical digital literacy that combines technical ability, ethical reasoning, and emotional awareness. Such integration is vital for preparing students to navigate a complex and often misleading information landscape.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze in more depth the teaching, implementation, and impact of Islamic boarding school curriculum materials on amaliyah tadris activities in preparing students to become professional teachers at the Salafi and Khalafi Islamic Boarding Schools in Banten. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. The data types used are primary and secondary data obtained from interviews, observations, and documentation. The data analysis technique refers to the theory of Miles Huberman, with source triangulation as a test of data validity. The results of this study show that 1). The teaching of amaliyah tadris at the Salafi Islamic Boarding School uses a hidden curriculum, while at the Khalafi Islamic Boarding School it refers to the KMI curriculum, 2) The implementation of amaliyah tadris at the Salafi Islamic Boarding School is carried out suddenly, and in uncertain conditions, while at the Khalafi Islamic Boarding School, it begins with preparing the committee, mentors, to participants and steps in implementing teaching, using Herberth's theory, and 3) The impact of amaliyah tadris at the Salafi Islamic Boarding School is the formation of a strong mentality, providing direct teaching experience, motivating students to study hard, instilling a sense of sincerity in the souls of students, and becoming a process of cadre formation for the successor to the kyai, while at the Khalafi Islamic Boarding School it is not only aimed at the formation of professional teachers, but also the formation of the souls of students in accordance with the five souls of modern Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

The preservation of coastal ecosystems and mangrove forests is becoming increasingly urgent due to their vital role in maintaining the overall balance of ecosystems. The presence of mangrove forests can reduce the impact of coastal erosion and protect from threatening sea storms. Furthermore, mangrove ecosystems serve as habitats for various species. This community service program utilizes a participatory and educational approach to address plastic pollution on the coast of Batu Koneng Beach, Poka Village, Ambon Island, Maluku. The GEMPA Nature Lovers, students from the Geography Education Study Program at Pattimura University in Ambon, collaborated with the Indonesian Sea Guardians Community, the 733/Raider Infantry Battalion, and local communities. The program's goal is to raise awareness among the community and create a tangible impact in maintaining coastal environmental cleanliness. The chosen location has a significant plastic pollution issue, offering great potential for environmental preservation activities. The GEMPA Nature Lovers, a student organization passionate about the environment, constitute the program's primary participants. The program's main findings underscore the importance of awareness and tangible actions in addressing plastic pollution on the coast. By involving students, local communities, and various stakeholders, the program enhances understanding of the negative impacts of plastic pollution and the importance of preserving coastal ecosystems. These findings provide a strong foundation for developing sustainable policies and practices in waste management and protecting coastal ecosystems.
