Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by persistent hyperglycemia resulting from impaired insulin secretion or action. This condition remains a leading cause of global morbidity and mortality and is closely associated with various metabolic complications and cancer risk. This study aimed to identify potential molecular targets and hormonal regulatory mechanisms involved in diabetes management. A systematic review was conducted by searching indexed scientific articles in databases such as ScienceDirect and Google Scholar using the keywords “diabetes,” “molecular targets,” “insulin sensitivity,” and “hormonal regulation.” The analysis identified six major molecular mechanisms contributing to improved insulin action and glucose homeostasis, involving targets such as human islet amyloid polypeptide (hIAPP), ?-glucosidase, dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4), sodium-glucose co-transporter-2 (SGLT2), glucose transporter type 4 (GLUT4) translocation, RNA-binding proteins (RBPs), and key enzymatic pathways associated with glucose metabolism. The development of therapeutic approaches directed toward these pathways could significantly enhance diabetes control, improve insulin sensitivity, and prevent long-term complications.

Abstract

This research investigates the development and testing of an interactive e-module based on inquiry learning, designed to improve students’ understanding of derivatives in calculus. The study adopts a Research and Development (R&D) approach, which involves several stages: design, prototype creation, testing, and revision. The e-module incorporates interactive exercises, real-time feedback, and multimedia elements to engage students in active learning. A pre- and post-test assessment was conducted to measure the effectiveness of the e-module, revealing a 20% improvement in students’ conceptual understanding of derivatives. Feedback from students indicated that the e-module’s interactive features, including visual representations, problem-solving activities, and immediate corrections, significantly enhanced their learning experience. The results were compared with traditional printed materials, showing that the interactive e-module was more effective in improving students' problem-solving skills and overall understanding of abstract concepts in calculus. The findings suggest that technology-enhanced tools, such as interactive e-modules, offer a promising approach to calculus education, fostering deeper engagement and providing immediate feedback, which traditional methods fail to offer. These tools are particularly beneficial in bridging the gap between theoretical understanding and practical application in higher education. The study also recommends expanding the use of inquiry-based learning and interactive modules to other areas of mathematics and STEM education. Future research should focus on refining the e-module to include more personalized learning pathways and explore its long-term effects on students' performance across various subjects.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berawal dari tingginya penggunaan pengawet kimia berbahaya dalam makanan, sehingga diperlukan alternatif pengawet alami yang lebih aman. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis proses produksi asap cair dari tempurung kelapa dalam sistem tertutup, mengevaluasi efektivitasnya sebagai pengawet ikan, dan mengamati perubahan kualitas ikan setelah perlakuan. Metode yang digunakan meliputi produksi asap cair melalui pirolisis, kondensasi, dan pemurnian hingga grade 1, kemudian diaplikasikan pada ikan dengan berbagai konsentrasi, yaitu 0%, 2%, 4%, dan 6%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa asap cair mengandung senyawa fenolik dan asam organik yang dapat menghambat pertumbuhan mikroba, menstabilkan pH, dan menjaga warna, aroma, dan tekstur ikan. Konsentrasi 4–6% ditemukan paling efektif. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah asap cair berbasis limbah tempurung kelapa berpotensi menjadi pengawet alami yang aman dan ramah lingkungan dibandingkan dengan pengawet sintetis.
