Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) becomes health problem in the world. Toddlers who interact with TB sufferers are at high risk for infected than adults, it is about 50-60% on the level of infection. Related to prevention of tuberculosis is needed through preventive treatment with isoniazid (PP INH) to healthy children aged <5 years who are interacting with TB patients. Based on Tanggul Health Center data, there are 37 toddlers who have received INH PP by involving health care providers, empowering cadres and the communities. However, This research aims to analyze the role of cadres such as the role of monitors. This research uses qualitative methods and case study approach. Besides, there are 5 main informants who has recruited purposively. The data are collected from in-depth interviews and analyzed through thematic content analysis. The results of this research shows that not all of TB cadres played their role as supervisors of swallowing medicines. This is because the distance of patients' home which made it difficult the cadres for coming to the patients’ home. Furthermore, the informant uses some method such as reminded the family to provide treatment using telepone (HP), and made their own notes about the specific problems of TB in their area where the cadre was assigned. The efforts to increase the compliance of PP INH treatment is optimized in providing information to the community both in the form of lectures or practices, giving support, and facilitating during the PP INH treatment process. Abstract

The development of infant is affected by several factors, particularly providing exclusive breast feeding by the maternal, in which the exclusive breastfeeding contains complete nutrients that is needed by infant. However, the low rate of providing exclusive breast feeding in community may remain a challenge. A good lactation management takes important role in successful rate of exclusive breastfeeding. The lactation management can be defined as a either management or procedure performed by mothers during pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding phase in order to facilitate breastfeeding activity. The lactation management itself is expected to support providing exclusive breastfeeding at least six months, in which the lactation management is necessary for both career-mother and housewife. The objective of this study was to assess the lactation management among housewife during breastfeeding activity. This was descriptive study by using quantitative approach, where the study design is case control. The location of this study is in work area of Primary Health Care of Sumbersari, Jember. This study found that lactation management is essential factor that affects breastfeeding activity among housewife. Keyword: Exclusive Breast Feeding, Lactation Management, Housewife

Abstract

At the age of teenagers, students are more concerned with physical appearance. Adolescent girls are a group that is vulnerable to nutritional problems. Poor food intake is a common cause of nutritional problems in adolescents. A balance between the nutrients that enter is needed for optimal health. The data used in this study is a cross sectional design which aims to determine the relationship between protein intake and nutritional status in adolescent girls. Data collection on protein intake variables used a 24-hour food recall form. Data were collected on nutritional status variables using weight measurement with analytical digital scales and height measurements using microtoa. The sample used was 40 female students at MA Mambaul Khoiriyatil Islamiyah. The statistical test used is the Chi Square test. The percentage of respondents with less protein intake is 90%. The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant relationship between protein intake and nutritional status with a p value of 0.035 (<0.05).
