Abstract

ABTSRACT Introduction: Herniated Nucleus Pulposus (HNP) is a pathological condition in which there is protrusion of the annulus fibrosus and nucleus pulposus into the lumen of the vertebral canal. Objective: The goal of this study is to determine the effectiveness of combination of pulsed shortwave therapy and lumbar spine stabilization exercise with combination of pulsed shortwave therapy and neurodynamic mobilization in decreasing low back disability in lumbosacral herniated nucleus pulposus patients at Denpasar and Badung Physiotherapy Clinic. Methods: The study used was an experimental method. Pre-test and post-test control group design is the design of this study. This study used 28 subjects were divided into two groups. The control group consist of 14 subjects received a combination of pulsed shortwave therapy and lumbar spine stabilization exercise while the treatment group consist of 14 subjects received a combination of pulsed shortwave therapy and neurodynamic mobilization. Intervention is given 2 times a week for 4 weeks. Sampling methods used in this study was simple random sampling. The low back disability is measured by a modified oswestry disability index. Result: The normality test of the data was tested using Saphiro-Wilk Test and homogeneity test of the data was tested with Levene's Test. Wilcoxon sign rank test results obtained significant differences in the control group with the value of p = 0.001, as well as in the treatment group found a significant difference with the value of p = 0.001. Post-test results with mann-whitney u-test showed a significant difference between the control group and the treatment group where p = 0.044 with the percentage of 48.53% in the control group and 54.88% in the treatment group. Conclusion: Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that the combination of pulsed shortwave therapy and neurodynamic mobilization is more effective than the combination of pulsed shortwave therapy and lumbar spine stabilization exercise in reducing low back disability in patients with lumbosacral herniated nucleus pulposus at the Denpasar and Badung Physiotherapy Clinic.Keywords: lumbosacral herniated nucleus pulposus, low back disability, pulsed shortwave therapy, neurodynamic mobilization, lumbar spine stabilization exercise

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Kemajuan pengetahuan tentang biologi molekuler pada tahun 90-an, mengubah paradigma mengenai patogenesis OA genu yang penyebabnya multifaktorial, diawali dengan munculnya mediator inflamasi dan bukan proses degeneratif semata. Tujuan Penelitian: Menganilisis perbedaan gambaran CRP pada pasien OA genu setelah mendapatkan penambahan terapi pulsed Ultrasound (US) low intensity pada latihan kinesiotherapy dibandingkan setelah mendapatkan latihan kinesiotherapy. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan true experimental, dengan pretest-posttest control group design. Jumlah responden sebanyak 26 orang pasien yang terdiagnosa OA genu yang datang ke poliklinik Fisioterapi RSUD dr. Dradjat Prawiranegara Kabupaten Serang yang disesuaikan dengan kriteria inklusi. Responden dibagi kedalam dua kelompok yang dipilih dengan random alokasi. Kelompok pertama terdiri dari 13 orang diberi latihan kinesiotherapy disebut Kelompok Kontrol. Kelompok kedua terdiri dari 13 orang diberi penambahan terapi pulsed Ultrasound (US) low intensity pada latihan kinesiotherapy disebut dengan Kelompok Perlakuan. Pemeriksaan CRP menggunakan metode imunoturbidimetri dari plasma darah dengan antikoagulan heparin. Hasil: (1) terdapat perbedaan gambaran CRP yang bermakna pada pasien OA genu setelah mendapatkan latihan kinesiotherapy (Kelompok Kontrol) dari rerata 0,35±0,28 mg/dL menjadi 0,19±0,15 mg/dL dengan nilai p<0,05; (2) terdapat perbedaan gambaran CRP yang bermakna pada pasien OA genu setelah mendapatkan penambahan terapi pulsed Ultrasound (US) low intensity pada latihan kinesiotherapy (Kelompok Perlakuan) dari rerata 0,75±0,53 mg/dL menjadi 0,44±0,33 mg/dL dengan nilai p<0,05; (3) terdapat perbedaan gambaran CRP yang bermakna pada pasien OA genu setelah mendapatkan penambahan terapi pulsed Ultrasound (US) low intensity pada latihan kinesiotherapy dibandingkan dengan setelah mendapatkan latihan kinesiotherapy dengan nilai p<0,05.

Abstract

Background: Lack of physical activity is often caused by a lack of motivation as well as children today are more interested in modern games or online games. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine differences in physical fitness and affective aspects as the effect of training kids athletics and traditional games Megala-gala on male students of SDN 14 Pemecutan Denpasar. Method: This research uses experimental design, Pre-Post test Control Group Design on 24 students aged 10-12 years. Were selected randomly and were divided into 2 groups. The first group was given training kids athltics and Group II was given the traditional game Megala-gala. Training is given three times a week for 6 weeks. Physical fitness was measured using a test run of 600 meters, while affective measured after training using a questionnaire. Ananlisis use significance level 0, 05. Result: The results of this study indicate that there are significant differences in physical fitness and affective aspects after intervention between groups with p = 0.00, but it also found significant differences in each group with a value of p = 0.00. Group I found a mean baseline of 3.24 ± 0.07 minutes increased to 2.38 ± 0.15 minutes (enchancement 26%) and in Group II preliminary data increased by 3.24 ± 0.11 minutes to 2.98 ± 0.11 minutes (enchancement 8%). On the affective aspects significant differences in; cooperation and responsibility with a value of p <0.05. Conclusion: It was concluded that training kids athletics further improve the physical fitness than the traditional game-Megala-gala but kids athletics training no more effect on the affective aspect than traditional game Megala-gala.

Abstract

The speed is one of the biomotoriccomponents which dominantin the run race100 meters. 100 meters run is part of athletics which has a short duration, highintensity and anaerobic systems develop. The purpose of this study was todetermine the increasing of 100 meter run speed, therefore this research is anexperimental study was conducted in SMK N Kakulukmesak Belu regency NTT,for 6 months from March - May 2014, with the frequency of exercise 3 times aweek. This study uses two types of training, and were divided into two treatmentgroups, ie group one is the training of interval run 4 x 50 meter on the sandybeach 4 reps 3 sets andgroup twois the interval run 4 x 50 meter in the yard 4 reps3 sets, implemented in the afternoon at 15.30 to 17.00 pm in the yard of SMK NKakulukmesak and Atapupu Beach, Belu regency - NTT. Sample was 20 people,chosen simple randomly from a population of 53 people who meet therequirements of inclusion and exclusion. The number of samples for each group is10 people. The speed of 100 meter run was measured using stopwatch, while the100-meter dash speed data before and after training in both groups, were testedwith parametric statistical analysis. With a paired t-test of mean difference testsobtained the 100 meter dash speed after training on each group with p <0.05. Themean speed of 100 meters before training in the group one is 16.06 seconds and13.01 seconds after training. Means increased speed of 3:05 seconds, or at =19:02%. While the average running speed of 100 meters in group two beforetraining is 16.02 seconds and after training is 13.95 seconds, the increasing ofspeed is 12.91%. This shows that the average speed of 100 meters before and aftertraining on each group there is a significant difference, with value p<0.05. Thusthe training of group 1is interval run 4 x 50 meter on the sandy beach and intervaltraining run 4 x 50 meters in the yard, after training is equal to increase the speedof the 100 meterin 10th grade student of SMK N Kakulukmesak. However, in theanalysis of data on the paired sample test, the speed training of group oneon thesandy beach is faster = 0.94 seconds than thetraining of group twoin the yard.

Abstract

100 meters’ run is a short distance that someone has to run with repulsion as fast as possible up to distance 100 meters’. Become a good runner must have anaerobic capability, power of limb muscles. This research aims to find out the improvement of anaerobic capability, power of limb muscles and 100 meters’ running speed from the effect of training of acceleration running and interval running at sandy beach on tenth grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Suela in East Lombok. An experimental study of Pre-Post Test Control Group Design had been conducted on 30 students aged between 16-17 years old who had physical fitness level of medium or moderate. Samples were divided into two groups by using simple random allocation technique. Group I was given the training of acceleration running at sandy beach and group II was given the training of interval running at sandy beach. The average of anaerobic capability, power of limb muscles and 100 meters’ running speed on each group, has p < 0.05. It means that on each group, there is a meaningful and significant improvement change after training. It can be concluded that the training of acceleration running and interval running at sandy beach equally improving anaerobic capability, the power of limb muscles and 100 meters’ running speed.Key words: Acceleration running, interval running, anaerobic capability, power of limb muscles, 100 meters’ running.

Abstract

Non-specific low back pain is the symptom of lower back pain that occurs without an obvious cause, the diagnosis is based on exclusion of specific pathology. Non-specific low back pain can result in pain, muscle spasm and muscle imbalance, it can decrease the stability of the abdominals and lower back, limitation in lumbar mobility , changes posture, and it’s couse make disability in patients with non-specific low back pain. Exercise therapy for non-specific low back pain is high recommend to increased stability and correct posture of the spine, for this case thsth can be used for exercise therapy is like McKenzie exercises and core stability exercise. The purpose of this study is to determine the core stability excercise better than McKenzie excercise for release in reduce patient disability in non-specific low back pain. This research applied experimental research method with Pre and Post Test Control Group Design. The research was conducted in Dr Soeradji Tirtonegoro Klaten. There were 32 subjects taken for this research. Disability was measured by oswestry disability index (ODI) before and after treatment. They were divided into two treatment groups consisting of core stability 16 subject for the Mckenzie exercise is 16 and the frequens are 2 times a weak in a month. Statistical test results obtained, have a decline ODI score at the first group have done with a value of p = 0.000 and the second gorup with p = 0.000. it means that both of the group are significantly improve functional activity. From the comparative test data by t-test using the data difference in both groups p value <0.05, which means indicated that there is a significant difference. Therefore, the conclusion of this research indicated thar the core stability excercise better than McKenzie excercise for release in reduce patient disability in non-specific low back pain. The study is expected to benefit in patients with non-specific low back pain in reducing disability.

Abstract

ABSTRACTBackground: Non-specific low back pains are low back pain caused by disorders or abnormalities in the musculoskeletal element without the presence of neurological disorders that can arise due to potential tissue damage leading to range of motion limitations and decreased functional activity. Objective: To prove that the addition of Swiss ball to core stability exercise and core stability exercise can improve the range of motion and functional activity in female farmers with non-specific low back pain in Tomohon City. Method: This research used true experimental method, with pre-test and post-test group design. This study used 18 subjects divided into 2 groups, Treatment Group I with core stability exercise and Treatment Group II addition of Swiss ball on core stability exercise. Both treatment groups were given training 3 times a week for 4 weeks. The measuring instrument used to measure lumbar LGS is the modified-modified Schober test and lumbar disability is a modified Oswestry disability index. Results: For the result of paired sample t-test of treatment group I LGS flexion and extension obtained p = 0.000 (p <0.05) and treatment group II LGS flexion and extension obtained result p = 0.000 (p <0.05). The decrease of modified ODI value in treatment group I obtained p = 0.000 (p <0.05) and treatment group II was obtained p = 0.000 (<0.05). The independent t-test results showed LGS flexion in treatment group I with p = 0.879 (> 0.05). The value of LGS extension in treatment group I with p value = 0.733 (> 0.05). The result of hypothesis test showed that the decrease of lumbar disability can be evaluated modified ODI in treatment group I with p = 0.891 (> 0.05). Conclusions: There is no statistically different Swiss ball addition to the core stability exercise and core stability exercise in increasing the range of motion and functional activity in female farmers with non-specific low back pain. Abstract

Pendahuluan: Overweight di kalangan mahasiswi masih banyak dijumpai, yang harus segera diatasi agar tidak menyebabkan berbagai penyakit dikemudian hari. Tujuan Penelitian: untuk membuktikan pemberian latihan interval intensitas tinggi lebih efektif daripada latihan kontinu intensitas sedang dalam menurunkan persentase lemak tubuh. Metode Penelitian: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental dengan rancangan randomized pre-test dan post-test control group design. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 20 mahasiswi overweight, dan terbagi ke dalam 2 kelompok. Kelompok 1 sebagai kelompok pelatihan interval intensitas tinggi, sedangkan Kelompok 2 sebagai kelompok pelatihan kontinu intensitas sedang. Persentase lemak tubuh diukur menggunakan Handheld BIA. Hasil Penelitian: Berdasarkan hasil uji Independent sample t-test menunjukkan rerata persentase lemak tubuh setelah pelatihan antar kelompok dengan beda rerata penurunan lemak tubuh sebesar 5,65±0,81% pada Kelompok 1 dan 3,33±0,59% pada Kelompok 2 serta diperoleh nilai p=0,002 (p<0,05). Simpulan: Pelatihan interval intensitas tinggi lebih efektif daripada pelatihan kontinu intesitas sedang dalam menurunkan persentase lemak tubuh pada mahasiswi dengan overweight di Program Studi Fisioterapi Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Udayana.

Abstract

Activities sat and looked in a long time tend to occur spasms in the neck muscles, causingpain in the neck and head, known as tension headaches. To reduce the pain of tension headacheswith the intervention of a combination of ultrasound and ischemic compression technique and acombination of ultrasound and intervention contract relax stretching. The purpose of this studyprove that the intervention ultrasound and contract relax stretching is more effective thanintervention ultrasound and ischemic compression technique in reducing the painful tensionheadaches. This research method is the true experimental with pre and posttest control groupdesign. This research was conducted for two months and the place of research in hospitalsBuleleng. Samples are patients who seek treatment in medical rehabilitation installations inhospitals Buleleng aged 35-45 years with the number of 32 samples are divided into two groups,in which the treatment group I (n = 16) and treatment group II (n = 16). Using measurementinstruments Neck Pain Disability Index (NPDI). The results of this study showed a meantreatment group I before treatment 91,56 and standards (SB) 8,91, average 35,25 after treatmentand SB 15,96 with p = 0.00 (p <0.05). This means intervention ultrasound and ischemiccompression technique effectively lowers tension headache pain. The results mean treatmentgroup II before treatment 91,12 and SB 6,95, and after treatment 13,62 the average SB 10,78 withp = 0.00 (p < 0.05). This means intervention ultrasound and contract relax stretching effectivelyreduce the pain of tension headaches. Test after intervention difference between treatment groupsI and II after intervention treatment groups using Mann withney U-Test p = 0:01 (p <0.05). It isproved that a decrease in pain tension headaches in both treatment groups there were significantdifferences. It is concluded that ultrasound and contract relax stretching is more effective thanultrasound and ischemic compression technique in reducing tension headache pain.

Abstract

The Body Balance of students of the Faculty of Sport Education and Health PGRI Bali tend to decrease. This is supported by preliminary data from the body balance, that the students are in the norm level of balance. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of walking training on a straight beam 8 m x 10 cm x 30 cm 4 sets of 5 reps increasing student body balance Faculty of Sport Education and Healt Students IKIP PGRI Bali and to investigate the training walk on a straight beam 8 m x 10 cm x 30 cm 4 sets of 5 reps improve body balance is bigger than 4 repetitions 5 sets of students of Faculty of Sport Educatoin and Healt Student IKIP PGRI Bali. This study used a pretest-posttest randomized control group design. A total of 22 students aged 18-23 years were selected as members of the sample were divided into 2 groups. Group I was given a training walk on a straight beam as far as 8 feet 5 repetitions 4 sets and a Group II are trained to walk on a straight block as far as 8 feets 4 repetitions 5 sets. Training was given 4 times a week for 6 weeks. Balancing is measured before and after training use stork balance test. T-test Paired is used to determine the balance mean difference in the balance of each group before and after treatment with a significance level of 0,05, t-independent test to determine the increasing of the body balance. The results showed an increase in of body balance of the group I and group II. The results of test paired in group I the first data is 20,02±2,52 seconds increased 40,10±3,80 seconds in group II the first data is 21,47±5,08 seconds increased 34,59±5,47 seconds by significance level of 0,05 is significantly different. Test Paired results indicate a difference of the intreasing of balance of the group I and group II. Independent test results in group I was 20,08 seconds 50,07% and in group II was 13,12 seconds 37,93%. Based on these results we can conclude that training walk on a straight block as far as 8 meters 5 repetitions 4 sets is more increase balancing walking on the straight block as far as 8 meters 4 repetitions 5 sets.
