Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is disease caused by a disorder of glucose metabolism. At present, diabetes mellitus is health problem in the world. Increased blood glucose levels can increase the risk of complications of various organs, one of which is cardiovascular disease. This study aims to determine the relationship between cholesterol total levels and triglycerides with blood glucose levels in patients with diabetes mellitus. This type of research is observational analytic with cross sectional design. A total of 45 samples were selected selectively at Aisyiyah Siti Fatimah Tulangan Hospital in January 2016-February 2018. The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed a statistically significant relationship between total cholesterol levels and blood glucose (b = 0,607; p = 0,046), and triglyceride levels with blood glucose levels (b = -0,276; p = 0,003). Based on the results, we found a stati

Abstract

Laparatomy is surgery performed to open the abdominal area which causes an increase in plasma adrenaline and inflammatory. Leukocytes will increase if the adrenal glands are stimulated as a physiological response such as stress and when active against microorganisms. Leukocytosis can trigger an increase in the number of neutrophil and lymphocyte cells in the blood circulation and cause an increase in leukocytes and diffcount. Curcuma zedoaria contain curcumin compounds as antioxidant effectiveness to prevent fisiologis stress, flavonoid and essential oils as an anti-inflammatory which can increase the total of leukocyte. The objective of this research is to determine the effect of several Curcuma zedoaria infusion on the total of leukocytes and diffcount on post operative laparatomy wound healing. A total of 24 Rattus norvegicus were used in this research. Group I (without infusion); group II (10% infusion); group III (15% infusion); group IV (20% infusion). Rattus norvegicus were sreened laparatomy and their blood was taken for leukocyte and differential counting. There is an effect of Curcuma zedoaria infusion on the number of leukocytes and diffcount. The best concentration 15% of leukocyte, and diffcount such as concentration 20% granulocyte, concentration 15% lymphocytes and concentration 10% monocyte in postoperative laparatomy wound healing.

Abstract

Dermatophytes are fungi that can cause dermatophytosis, this fungus attacks the skin of the stratum corneum. This study aims to determine the effectiveness Spondias dulcis leaf extract on the growth of Trichophyton rubrum in vitro. This research uses Trichophyton rubrum and Spondias dulcis leaf extract. The treatment in this study was divided into 6 treatment groups, namely negative control, concentration of 20%, 40%, 80%, 100% and positive control, as well as 4 repetitions. After incubation for 5-7 days then observations were made and the results showed that Spondias dulcis leaf extract with various concentrations did not have different results, there was no effect on the growth of Trichophyton rubrum in vitro. Negative control used 10% DMSO solution which showed no effect on the growth of Trichophyton rubrum. On positive control using terbinafine antifungal drugs showed results that were very influential on the growth of Trichophyton rubrum. So it can be concluded that Spondias dulcis leaf extract has no influence on the growth of Trichophyton rubrum.

Abstract

Chronic kidney failure (CKF) is a decrease in kidney function has decreased. The impact that occurs is the accumulation of metabolic waste, including fluid overload, uremia, hyperuricemia and hyperkalemia. Hemodialysis is the process of cleansing the blood through a distillation process outside the body using a machine (dialyzer). The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in uric acid levels and albumin levels in patients with chronic renal failure before and after hemodialysis at Dr. Muhammad Zyn Sampang General Hospital. This type of research is experimental with 15 patients using purposive random sampling technique. The method of examining uric acid using Enzymatic Photometry, and the method of examining albumin using Bromocresol Green. The research was conducted in April-May 2021 at RSUD Dr. Muhammad Zyn Sampang. This study used the Wilcoxon test. It can be concluded that there is a significant difference (p <0.05) uric acid levels (p = 0.001) and albumin levels (p = 0.001) in patients with chronic renal failure before and after hemodialysis.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a disease caused by disorders of the body’s metabolism, because blood glucose levels have a increased or hyperglycemia. According to the IDF in 2021 DM sufferers have increased from 463 million people (9.3%) to 537 million people (10.5%) in 2021. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between blood glucose levels and blood albumin and HDL cholesterol in diabetic ulcer patients. The design of this study was a cross-sectional method, in 30 respondents with diabetes mellitus with diabetic ulcers who were undergoing treatment at the Sidoarjo Luka Home. Examination of glucose, albumin and HDL cholesterol was carried out using the enzymatic method using a photometer, on 28 May – 20 June 2022. The results of the study were analyzed using Pearson’s Parametric Correlation statistics. Blood glucose levels with blood albumin levels have a strong correlation with a negative correlation direction (r = -0.470 p= 0.009), while blood glucose levels with HDL (High-Density Lipoprotein) cholesterol levels have a weak correlation with a negative correlation direction (r=-0.375 p=0.041).

Abstract

Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) is a condition where there are microorganisms that multiply in the urinary tract causing inflammation and bacteriuria. The delay in the examination results in an error in diagnosis, the examination must be carried out >1 hour and a maximum of 2 hours after the voiding process at a temperature of 20-25℃ and the delay can be done a maximum of 4 hours at a temperature of 2-8℃. The study was conducted in June 2022. The study was conducted at SMK Muhammadiyah 1 Pandaan. UTI sampling at Sahabat Hospital in Suwayuwo Sukorejo. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of delay time and storage temperature on the results of urine leukocyte examination in UTI patients. This study used an experimental method using 35 urine samples. The statistical test used the Two Way Anova test with a 95% confidence level and the inaccuracy limit of (α) = 0.05. Based on the results of the Two Way Anova test between storage temperature and delay in urine leukocytes, a significance value of 0.981 (p>0.05), it can be concluded that Ha is rejected and Ho is accepted, meaning that there is no interaction effect between the length of time delay and storage temperature on leukocyte results. urine in UTI patients.

Abstract

The process of centrifugation in urine examination is very important because it can be used in the manufacture of urine sediment. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of centrifugation speed on the results of urine sediment examination. Centrifugation speeds used were 3000 rpm, 3500 rpm, 4000 rpm, and 4500 rpm using pathological urine samples. The samples used were 32. The research method used was an experimental laboratory at the Pusura Yos Sudarso clinical laboratory in Surabaya. The results of the study with a speed of 3000 rpm obtained an average of erythrocytes = 6.63/LPB, leukocytes = 13.63/LPB, and epithelial = 10.50/LPB. At a speed of 3500 rpm the average value of erythrocytes = 7.63/LPB, leukocytes = 15.13/LPB, and epithelium 11.63/PLB. At a speed of 4000 rpm the average value of erythrocytes = 8.63/LPB, leukocytes = 17.75/LPB and epithelial = 13.50/LPB. At a speed of 4500 rpm the average value of erythrocytes = 9.63/LPB, leukocytes = 20.50/LPB, and epithelial = 15.38/LPB. The results of the statistical test One Way Anova obtained p-value results of 0.001 < (0.05) in erythrocyte cells, p-value results for leukocytes 0.025 < (0.05), and p-value results for epithelial cells 0.002 < (0.05) means that there is an effect on the centrifugation speed on the results of urine sediment examination.
