Abstract

Life in densely populated residential areas located in the heart of a metropolitan city such as Surabaya City, is highly dependent on work income outside the home. While income growth is much slower than development and has destroyed the use value of the environment, it is inevitable. Finally, the phenomenon of modernized poverty becomes unavoidable. The condition becomes even more discriminatory when it is pointed out that most of the poor household heads living in this area are women. This paper aims to explain the social injustice practices of women heads of poor households in urban areas by using class analysis, cultural analysis, gender analysis, and critical analysis that aims to provide the meanings, conceptions, ideologies, and practices that are happening in female heads of poor households in urban areas. The reality of social injustice experienced by women heads of poor households is an issue that cannot be covered up anymore about future social conditions. Theoretical analysis born from this fact has sparked a variety of critical thinking. First, class analysis tries to understand the form of economic injustice and its relation to the broader social system. The process of industrialization and urbanization has contributed to the instability of urban society. Secondly, Gramsci's thought discusses ideology and culture and challenges both because they are considered tools and part of those who benefit from perpetuating injustice. Gramsci saw that this condition was born because there was an effort to maintain power by the ruling and capitalist classes, in the sense that it was not only limited to state authorities but all dominant groups in society, called hegemony. The third idea is supported by the critical theory of the Frankfurt school, which questions the methodology and epistemology of positivism as a source of injustice. What needs to be done is to fight the hegemony that demeans women, by deconstructing ideology. Keywords: Female Heads of Poor Households, Feminization of Poverty, Social Injustice.

Abstract

ABSTRACT. Cerium barium ferrite composites (CeBFCs) with improved microwave absorbance in the X-band spectral region are advantageous for varied advanced applications. Thus, the influence of various sintering temperatures on the microwave-absorbing traits of CeBFCs was evaluated. The main objective was to enhance the selective microwave absorption of BFC by modifying its magnetic properties through the substitution of Fe³⁺ with Ce³⁺ in the lattice structures. Four composites of CeBF were synthesized via mechanical alloying and sintered at 600, 800, 1000, and 1100°C. The produced samples were analyzed using XRD, VSM, and VNA to determine their microstructures, magnetic properties, and microwave reflection loss at X-band frequencies. XRD results revealed a significant promotion in forming a more pure crystalline barium hexaferrite phase at sintering temperatures higher than 800°C. This structural enhancement could directly influence the magnetic properties of the specimens with a progressive increase in the saturation magnetization with rising sintering temperature. In addition, the sintering temperature variation effectively modulated the electromagnetic properties (complex relative permeability and permittivity) that are vital for impedance matching and optimal wave absorption. The composite sintered at 1000°C displayed an optimal microwave absorption, indicating the lowest reflection loss within the X-band. The obtained products were shown to attenuate and dissipate surplus electromagnetic energy within the 8-12 GHz frequency range. The observed superior performance of the composites was ascribed to a balanced interplay between the magnetic and dielectric losses, leading to efficient impedance matching. It was affirmed that careful tuning of the sintering temperature can improve the crystalline phases, magnetic, electromagnetic, and microwave absorption properties of the proposed CeBFCs. Abstract

Field evidence shows that most lecturers do not yet have specific guidelines for assessing students' process skills, so that assessment remains subjective and oriented towards final results. In fact, the main objective of project-based learning is to develop critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity skills. This study aims to develop an objective, consistent, and transparent process assessment rubric using the ADDIE model. The research participants included 5 lecturers and 72 students from project-based classes. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then validated by experts and tested for reliability. The results showed that the rubric instrument obtained an average validity of 97% (highly valid) and practicality and effectiveness of 90.25% (highly effective). This rubric contains 21st-century skill indicators and is equipped with an informative reporting system, enabling it to provide constructive feedback to students. Thus, the developed process assessment rubric not only improves the objectivity and consistency of evaluation but also supports the achievement of project-based learning objectives in higher education.

One effort that can be made is to create and innovate within classroom learning processes. This study aims to determine the effect of applying Teams Games Tournament (TGT)-type cooperative learning assisted by Wordwall on student learning activity. The research method used is a quasi-experimental design with the Nonequivalent Control Group Design model. The population and sample consisted of all third-grade students at SDIT Al Ghazali, Palangka Raya. Data were collected using test techniques, including pretests and posttests. The data analysis techniques used include calculating mean scores, testing data normality and homogeneity, and performing a two-sample t-test (Assuming Unequal Variance). The results show that the average pretest score of the experimental class was 61.17 with a standard deviation of 17.09, while the average posttest score increased to 89.70 with a standard deviation of 10.22. Based on the hypothesis test using the Welch test, the obtained p-value was 0.00467, which is smaller than the significance level of 0.05. It indicates a significant difference between the two sample groups, with the posttest average being higher. Additionally, an 82.35% increase in student learning activity was recorded. Therefore, the implementation of TGT-type cooperative learning, assisted by Wordwall, significantly enhances the learning activities of grade III students at SDIT Al Ghazali Palangka Raya.

Abstract

The automotive industry is shifting toward electric vehicles, supported by Indonesian government policies and incentives. The opening of GIIAS 2025, which showcases electric vehicle innovations, may influence investor reactions in the Indonesia Stock Exchange. However, studies examining the impact of large-scale auto exhibitions such as GIIAS 2025 on abnormal returns and trading volume are still limited. Therefore, this study aims to fill this gap by analyzing how the capital market responds to the opening of GIIAS 2025, emphasizing its role as a multi-information event that may provide incremental insights beyond conventional event-study settings. This study employs a quantitative approach using the event study method to examine five automotive companies engaged in electric vehicle development. The observation period spans 10 days before the event, the event day, and 10 days after the event. The analysis applies descriptive statistics, normality tests, and one-sample t-tests to evaluate abnormal returns, while paired sample t-tests used to compare average abnormal returns and trading volume before and after the event. The findings indicate that only a few days surrounding the GIIAS 2025 opening show statistically significant abnormal returns. However, there are no significant differences in average abnormal returns trading volume when comparing the pre- and post-event periods overall. These results suggest that the information conveyed during the GIIAS 2025 opening did not generate a strong market reaction, supporting the semi-strong form of the efficient market hypothesis, which posits that markets quickly incorporate publicly available information into stock prices, even if the overall impact is not substantial.

Abstract

Developing a Reduced Graphene Oxide (rGO) synthesis method based on rice husk as a composite electrode material with silica has garnered particular attention for designing high-quality electrode materials. This research successfully synthesized rGO-Si material from rice husk-derived activated carbon through a one-step thermal reduction process at 200 °C. This method offers a simple, efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly synthesis approach. The resulting samples' morphology, surface composition, crystal structure, surface area, and pore diameter size were characterized using FE-SEM, EDX, XRD, and SAA-BET. EDX characterization results confirmed the predominance of carbon content in the samples. At the same time, the natural emergence of Si without external addition due to thermal reduction at 200 °C was an intriguing initial finding. The spherical crystal structure of silica between the wrinkled rGO layers was confirmed through FE-SEM and XRD analysis. The synergistic effect between Si and rGO significantly increased the sample's surface area, with a value of 34.17 m2/g for the rGO sample before thermal reduction, which increased to 121.24 m2/g after the thermal reduction process at 200 °C. This process also positively impacted the reduction in pore size of rGO-Si, with a value decreasing from 9.33 nm before thermal reduction to 4.89 nm after the thermal reduction process. The results of this study demonstrate that rGO-Si synthesized from rice husk-derived activated carbon holds great potential as a high-performance electrode material, combining the advantages of thermal reduction, natural Si content, and increased surface area for diverse applications.
