Abstract

This paper explores the intersection of women’s rights and Indonesia’s correctional system, focusing on the legal and social dynamics affecting incarcerated women. The study critically examines the Indonesian Correctional Act and its provisions related to women, highlighting the challenges of female inmates within a predominantly male-dominated penal system. While the act sets out various measures for the protection of women in detention, including separate facilities and gender-sensitive policies, its implementation often falls short, leaving women vulnerable to abuse, inadequate healthcare, and limited rehabilitation opportunities. The paper investigates how these gaps reflect broader societal attitudes toward women, where gender-based inequalities persist even within the criminal justice system. By analyzing legal texts, institutional practices, and interviews with legal experts and women prisoners, the research aims to provide a nuanced understanding of the challenges facing incarcerated women in Indonesia. It further discusses the role of state institutions, civil society, and international organizations in advocating for reforms that uphold women’s dignity and human rights in detention. Ultimately, the paper argues for a more comprehensive and gender-sensitive approach to prison reform, one that goes beyond the basic separation of male and female prisoners. It calls for the integration of policies that address the specific needs of women, such as maternal care, trauma-informed treatment, and vocational training, to ensure their rehabilitation and successful reintegration into society post-incarceration. This discourse serves as a critical step toward achieving a more equitable and humane correctional system for women in Indonesia.

Abstract

Pancasila, Indonesia’s official state ideology, serves as a guiding framework for the nation’s governance and legal systems. As the country continues to grapple with challenges related to corruption, inequality, and legal inefficiencies, there is an increasing recognition of the need to integrate Pancasila’s principles into legal reforms. This study evaluates the impact of civic education, grounded in Pancasila, on the effectiveness and legitimacy of Indonesia’s legal system. It argues that embedding Pancasila’s values—such as justice, democracy, and social welfare—into civic education can foster a more law-abiding, ethically responsible society, which in turn strengthens the rule of law and enhances legal reforms. Through a comprehensive analysis of existing civic education programs and their influence on public understanding of legal rights and obligations, this research highlights the role of education in shaping legal consciousness and promoting societal trust in legal institutions. The urgency of this research lies in Indonesia’s ongoing efforts to modernize its justice system while addressing systemic corruption and inefficiency. By situating Pancasila at the core of civic education, the study advocates for a holistic approach to legal reform, one that aligns legal practices with broader societal values. This research contributes to the discourse on legal reform by proposing a model in which education, ethical values, and legal practice are interconnected to create a more robust and transparent legal framework in Indonesia.

Abstract

This article was written to present a literature review to find out the forms of parenting that affect the learning of dyslexic students in Inclusive Schools in the period between 2019 and 2024. The method used in this research is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Data was obtained from journal articles, research reports, and proceedings aligned with the paper's topic using the help of Harzing's Publish or Perish. Parenting has a vital role in shaping the behavior, social skills, and academic achievement of dyslexic learners. From the search for articles on parenting patterns of dyslexic learners in the 2019-2024 time span, there were 16 articles consisting of 11 journal articles, four research reports, and one proceeding. The results showed that democratic and supportive parenting consistently improved the engagement and learning outcomes, independence, and self-confidence of dyslexic children. Meanwhile, authoritarian and permissive parenting showed mixed impacts, often impeding educational progress. In addition, this study highlights the importance of collaboration between parents, educators, and support personnel in creating an inclusive and adaptive learning environment. The implications of this study suggest that ongoing support from families and educational environments is essential to achieve optimal learning outcomes for dyslexic learners.

Abstract

Reading is one step in the learning process. Students will master skills, develop reading techniques, and learn to better understand what they have read. However, based on facts in the field, it shows that students' ability to read pronunciation is still not fluent, students still write sentences with incomplete words, and there are still students who have difficulty putting words together. Given these problems, researchers will use the APACIN (Observe, Think, Analyze, Create and Information) learning model. This learning development is carried out with the help of flash cards. Data collection techniques in this research used the methods: Observation, Interviews, Tests, and Documentation. The subjects of this research are grade 1 students. The initial reading ability assessment instrument uses assessment guidelines consisting of four aspects, namely: pronunciation, intonation, fluency, voice clarity. The data analysis technique in this research uses comparative analysis. This research was carried out in 2 cycles using the PTK flow according to Kemmis and Mc Taggart (1988) where each cycle consists of stages which include 1) planning; 2) implementation; 3) observation; and 4) reflection. At the time of the research there were 63% of the 30 students who did not have initial reading skills. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the measure of success of this research is considered successful if 80% of the total number of students in this research can read the beginning correctly.

Abstract

Curriculum change responds to global challenges and local demands for improving education quality. In Indonesia, the Merdeka Curriculum reflects a reform initiative focusing on flexibility, differentiated learning, and the development of character and 21st-century competencies. However, its implementation faces various obstacles, particularly within decentralized education systems. This study aims to critically examine curriculum change dynamics using a qualitative approach through a literature review method. Three core articles were analyzed: ICT and Curriculum Change (Voogt & Pelgrum, 2005), Curriculum Reform in Indonesia (Simarmata & Mayuni, 2023), and Curriculum Reform in the Decentralization of Education in Indonesia (Dewi, 2021). Thematic content analysis was applied to explore background issues, implementation strategies, and the challenges and implications of curriculum reform. The findings reveal a significant gap between policy and practice, as well as disparities in regional capacities that hinder effective reform. Strengthening synergy among curriculum design, teacher training, local institutional capacity, and adaptive evaluation is essential to ensure meaningful educational transformation in Indonesia. Keywords: curriculum reform, decentralization, Merdeka Curriculum
