Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aimed to examine the effects of augmented reality–based instruction, video-based instruction, and traditional instruction on fourth-grade students’ environmental literacy, encompassing environmental knowledge, environmental attitudes, and pro-environmental behavior, within an Adiwiyata-certified elementary eco-school. Methodology: A quasi-experimental design was employed involving 81 fourth-grade students from an Adiwiyata-certified elementary eco-school in Semarang, Indonesia. Data were collected using a validated multiple-choice environmental knowledge test and Likert-scale questionnaires measuring environmental attitudes and pro-environmental behavior. Data were analyzed using multivariate analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) and analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) with IBM SPSS Statistics version 26. Main Findings: The results revealed a significant multivariate effect of instructional method on overall environmental literacy. Augmented reality–based instruction produced the highest post-test scores in environmental knowledge and environmental attitudes, followed by video-based instruction and traditional instruction. Instructional method also exerted a statistically significant but smaller effect on pro-environmental behavior. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study provides novel empirical evidence through a three-arm comparison of augmented reality, video-based, and traditional instruction within the Adiwiyata (eco school) framework. It advances environmental education research by demonstrating differentiated cognitive, affective, and behavioral effects of immersive and non-immersive instructional methods at the elementary school level.

Abstract

The transformation of inclusive education policy has become a strategic issue in improving the quality of human resources and enhancing Indonesia’s global competitiveness in an increasingly dynamic and competitive environment. This study aims to analyze the transformation of inclusive education policies and their implications for improving human resource quality and national competitiveness. The research employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method, collecting data from national journal articles, academic books, and relevant policy documents, which are then analyzed systematically through content analysis. The findings reveal that although Indonesia has established a strong regulatory framework for inclusive education, its implementation still faces significant challenges, including limited human resources, inadequate infrastructure, and low public awareness of inclusive education concepts. Furthermore, the study identifies that effective policy transformation requires a systemic approach involving policy reformulation, capacity building of educators, integration of digital technology, and multi-stakeholder collaboration. The proposed policy transformation model serves as a strategic framework to bridge the gap between policy and practice. In conclusion, the transformation of inclusive education policy plays a crucial role in developing high-quality, adaptive, and globally competitive human resources, and therefore must be implemented in a sustainable and integrated manner.

Abstract

This study aims to reconstruct education quality policy in Indonesia by employing a meta-leadership approach as a strategic response to increasing global competitiveness amid technological disruption. The primary challenge lies in persistent policy fragmentation, particularly within cross-ministerial governance structures that operate under differing mandates and interests. This condition hinders the integration of digital transformation, the strengthening of character education, and the development of future-oriented skills. This study adopts a systematic literature review method using the PRISMA protocol to synthesize relevant literature on education policy, leadership, and digital transformation. The findings reveal that conventional leadership approaches are insufficient to address the complexity of policy management involving multiple actors and sectors. In this context, meta-leadership functions as an integrative mechanism by enhancing cross-ministerial coordination to align policies, reduce fragmentation, and improve implementation effectiveness. Furthermore, this study proposes a conceptual model of education quality policy that is integrative, adaptive, and collaborative.

Abstract

Basic education is a strategic foundation for human resource development and a fundamental right of every Indonesian citizen as mandated by the 1945 Constitution. The development of basic education policies in Indonesia is directed toward improving access, equity, learning quality, and educational relevance to social dynamics and contemporary challenges. This article aims to describe basic education development policies in Indonesia, analyze their implementation, and identify challenges and development strategies. This study employs a qualitative approach using the library research method. Data was collected through documentation studies of regulations, scientific literature, and relevant research findings, then analyzed descriptively. The findings indicate that policy implementation has been carried out through various strategic programs, including the compulsory nine-year education policy extended toward thirteen years, implementation of National Education Standards, development of the Independent Curriculum, equalization of educational access, strengthening educational governance, and improving teacher competencies. These policies have positively contributed to increasing participation in basic education. However, implementation still faces challenges such as disparities in educational quality across regions, limited infrastructure, low digital literacy, and uneven teacher distribution. Therefore, evidence-based policy strengthening, equitable educational facilities, continuous teacher competency development, and multi-stakeholder collaboration are essential to achieve quality and inclusive basic education in Indonesia.

Abstract

This qualitative descriptive study explores the manifestations of student morality in collaborative project-based learning in dance and vocal arts education at SMA Kristen Anak Panah Nabire, Indonesia. This research aims to investigate how aesthetic experiences and collaborative artistic activities contribute to the internalization and expression of moral values. Data collection was conducted through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation analysis during the "Warisan Budaya Nusantara" (Nusantara Cultural Heritage) collaborative art project, with 64 students and 2 art teachers as participants. Data were collected through classroom observations, reflective journals, and semi-structured interviews with students and teachers. The analysis results show four main manifestations of morality: (1) the growth of personal and collective responsibility in group commitments; (2) the development of empathy and social awareness during the rehearsal process; (3) the strengthening of cooperation and solidarity in resolving conflicts and achieving artistic goals; and (4) the emergence of moral reflection through aesthetic experiences. These findings indicate that moral values are not only transmitted cognitively but are also experienced through social interaction, emotional experiences, and shared reflection within a contextual creative process. The implications highlight that project-based learning in arts education can function as a moral ecology—an environment where artistic collaboration becomes a living process of ethical formation. This study contributes to the theoretical discourse on art and morality, and provides practical recommendations for teachers and curriculum designers to foster character development through arts education.

Abstract

Abstract

Leadership is the core of an organization and plays a very important role, because the leader is the main person who determines the black and white of the organization under him. A leader is required to be adaptive to developments and changes in the times. The dynamic education system in Indonesia also requires the headmaster as a leader in the education unit to be ready to follow changes in existing policies. The current policy is about implementing an independent curriculum in the context of learning recovery. The readiness of all stakeholders to face curriculum changes is a challenge for headmasters so that this policy does not become a new problem for the education unit. Responsive headmaster leadership that can improve teacher readiness and performance is one solution to this challenge, namely transformational leadership. Transformational leadership is the process of leaders influencing followers by providing high motivation regarding the importance of performance values through empowerment so that changes occur for the better in realizing organizational goals. The principal's role is to influence all elements in the school to create strategies and innovations by utilizing the school's resources by providing strong motivation so as to increase one's moral values and develop one's competence so that one is ready to move together to implement the independent curriculum.
