Abstract

This research is about hand-kissing behavior done by santri, students at traditional Muslim school, towards their teachers in Nurul Yaqin Islamic boarding school. Nurul Yaqin's santri-style greetings have their meanings. Researchers focus on discussing the ways, meanings and meanings construction process in the hand-kissing behavior. This study aims to investigate how santri do hand-kissing in detail to their teachers, as well as examine more deeply the meaning and meaning construction process of the symbolic behavior of hand-kissing. This study uses qualitative research methods with a phenomenological approach. The results showed that the hand-kissing was done by kissing the back of the hand, then inverted to then kiss the palm, the kiss is inhaled using the nose. The meaning of the hand-kissing is a symbol of the blessing of zahir and inner knowledge obtained from the teachers to Allah SWT. The construction process of meaning starts from the beginning of the santri entering the cottage. At that time the students had their own meaning to the behavior of the hands-kissing. After some time, the meanings are equated with the meanings given by Shaykh al-Ma'ad. This process of equating meaning is done by asking directly to Shaykh al-Ma'ad, their teachers and seniors.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the presence of PKH Partners as the spearhead of the government in changing the behavior of poor families thus they can get out of poverty. This study aims to determine the interpersonal communication carried out by PKH Partners to KPM and obstacles in implementing of interpersonal communication. The theory used was the Source Credibility Theory proposed by Hovland, Janis and Kelley. The approach of this research is descriptive qualitative.The results showed that interpersonal communication carried out by PKH Partners were applied in activities of compulsory P2K2 meeting, home visits and visits to relevant agencies by using face to face dialogue through verbal and non verbal communication. Verbal communication is done verbally by PKH Partners as a communicator to KPM as the communicant through discussion and question and answer, and non-verbal communication in the form of a touch specifically made for the disabled and elderly. The nature of the relationship between PKH Partners and KPM is interdependence because each party has the obligation to accompany and be accompanied, if not the aid fund is deferred. PKH Partners and KPM communicate actively at each meeting until all the required information has been obtained and KPM has interpreted all the messages conveyed. The message conveyed in connection with improving the quality of life of KPM families and PKH Partners did not use the media because communication was done face-to-face. To create effective communication The PKH Partners an openness attitude, motivation, sympathy and empathy as well as equality, and the attitude that shown by PKH Partners creates a sense of confidence of KPM thus the message delivered by PKH Partners received and implemented well by KPM. Meanwhile the barriers of interpersonal communication that done by PKH Partners were, limited knowledge, generation differences and physical limitations

Abstract

Kekerasan Dalam Rumah Tangga merupakan fenomena sosial yang selalu mengalami peningkatan setiap tahunnya. Ibarat sebuah gunung es yang permukaannya terlihat sedikit, tetapi apabila ditelusuri lebih dalam, maka terlihat bahwa tindak kekerasan banyak terjadi tidak hanya secara fisik, psikis, seksual tetapi juga ekonomi. Dan semua bentuk kekerasan terhadap perempuan dapat meninggalkan trauma bagi korban, dan berpengaruh terhadap kualitas hidup korban di masa depan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini melihat bagaimana pengalaman komunikasi korban trauma KDRT sebelum, saat hypno dan setelah dilakukan hypnotherapy. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dan menganalisis pengalaman komunikasi dari korban trauma KDRT. Subyek penelitian diambil dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Dalam pengumpulan data, peneliti menggunakan teknik observasi dan wawancara mendalam. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, menunjukkan bahwa pengalaman komunikasi korban trauma KDRT sebelum dilakukan hypnotherapy yaitu adanya perasaan sakit hati, tidak dihargai, direndahkan, dan merasa sering di bohongi oleh pasangan. Sementara perubahan dari pengalaman korban KDRT pasca hypnotherapy yang dirasakan oleh korban adalah timbulnya perasaan nyaman, lebih ringan, lebih rileks dan merasa lebih bahagia, sehingga muncul perubahan dalam sikap dan emosi menjadi lebih positif dibandingkan sebelum dilakukan hypnotherapy.

Abstract

Radio Start FM as one of the media that develops and competes with local radios in Panyabungan City of Mandailing Natal in maintaining and increasing audiences/listeners. So it takes the ability or strategy and expertise to retain old listeners and attract new radio listeners as well as analyze the communication strategies used in retaining listeners and advertising promotions. Regulations in the broadcasting sector that bring about various changes provide new challenges for broadcast media managers. Radio as a broadcasting industry requires creativity and expertise to win the competition. The purpose of this study was to analyze the communication strategy of Start FM radio in retaining listeners in the Panyabungan Mandailing Natal area. Analyzing the communication strategy of Start FM radio in the promotion of Panyabungan area advertisements in Mandailing Natal City. This study used qualitative research methods. The results of this study resulted in how the communication strategy of Radio Start FM in retaining listeners and advertising promotion in the Panyabungan area, Mandailing Natal Regency.

Abstract

This study discusses the media framing of the coverage of the hijab polemic at SMK Negeri 2 Padang. The media studied were Detik.com and Republika Online. This study uses a qualitative method, with a framing analysis approach. By using Robert N. Entman's framing analysis model, which consists of four elements of the framing device, namely Define Problems (defining the problem), Diagnose Causes (estimating the cause of the problem), Make Moral Judgment (Making Moral Choices) and Treatment Recommendations (emphasizing the solution), the results of this study shows that Detik.com frames the polemic coverage of the hijab case at SMKN 2 Padang, by giving the frame that this case is a form of intolerance, is a form of forcing the use of the hijab for non-Muslim students, is not in accordance with the values of Pancasila and is a form of violation on Human Rights (HAM). The intolerant frame is the dominant frame developed. Meanwhile, Republika Online provides a frame of misinterpretation, miscommunication, a form of respect for local wisdom, there is no element of coercion, the issue of the hijab regulation at SMKN 2 Padang is exaggerated and there is no intimidation, regarding the polemic coverage of the hijab case for non-Muslim students at SMKN 2 Padang.Keywords: Media, framing, hijab, SMK Negeri 2 Padang, West Sumatra.

Abstract

Smart governance is one of the dimensions of a smart city that specializes in governance. Smart governance is part of the Smart City goals related to public services, where public services are the main driver in the implementation of Smart Governance. To improve public services, Diskominfo has programs to support public services. This study aims to see how the communication audit of the Implementation of the Smart Governance Program at Diskominfo Padang City. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques using observation and interviews. The results showed that at the preparation stage, all the preparations made to formulate the program had been carefully prepared through the Smart City Master Plan, at the Implementation stage the program implementation was still not fully implemented. At the stage of implementing the Smart Governance program, Diskominfo did not socialize the program so that this program was not known to the public. Furthermore, at the Impact stage, researchers saw that this program had not been fully implemented by the Padang City Communication and Information Office.Keywords: Smart City, Smart Governance, Communication Audit

Abstract

Juvenile delinquency and deviant behavior is a social phenomenon that often occurs in society. From a theoretical point of view, juvenile delinquency is the cause of failure in self-control. They may fail to distinguish between acceptable and unacceptable behavior by the surrounding community. This research uses. qualitative research method with a case study approach. The result of this study is that the communication carried out by the BK teacher in tackling the delinquency of students at SMK N 1 Muara Bungo is very effective between teachers and their students. This interpersonal communication is very helpful as an intermediary in finding problems and finding solutions to a problem that is being faced by the students. Coupled with the classical approach taken by BK teachers in approaching these students in making it easier for them to reduce problems in education. The existence of a social penetration theory can actually be more intimate between students who have problems with the BK teacher. So the final result of this research is that between teachers and students they grow closer to each other along with the ongoing process of intense interpersonal communication.

Abstract

This article discusses the communication skills of librarians at the Andalas Padang University Library. The purpose of this study was to analyze the implementation of librarian interpersonal communication to users in providing collection lending services. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out through complete participatory observation, namely the researcher was fully involved in several activities carried out by the informants. In addition, researchers also conducted in-depth interviews with librarians and students who act as users in order to strengthen the data in the study. In addition, researchers also use the method of documentation through previous research, manuals and various literatures related to research. Two findings were obtained from these results. First, the lack of use of written verbal communication by new students so that they do not have an understanding of the use of collection lending services. Second, the comparison of the number of officers in loan services with the users they face per day is inadequate.

Abstract

Komunikasi dapat membangun interaksi dalam keluarga, baik antar pribadi anggota keluarga, suami dengan isteri atau sebaliknya, orang tua dengan anak maupun dengan anggota keluarga yang lain. Keluarga adalah kesatuan unit terkecil di dalam masyarakat dan merupakan suatu lembaga yang sangat penting dalam pembangunan dan perkembangan kualitas anak bangsa. Keluarga juga merupakan satu-satunya lembaga sosial yang diberikan tanggungjawab untuk mengubah suatu organisme biologis menjadi manusia. Pada saat sebuah lembaga mulai membentuk kepribadian seseorang dalam hal-hal penting, keluarganya tentu lebih banyak berperan dalam persoalan perubahan itu, dengan mengajarkan berbagai kemampuan dan menjalankan banyak fungsi-fungsi sosialnya.Di Era digital banyak sekali persoalan – persoalan anak yang tidak terselesaikan, disebabkan komunikasi dalam keluarga tidak terbangun dengan baik, akhirnya mereka merasa tidak diperhatikan dan beralih pada teknologi. Observasi awal dengan salah satu guru di Kota Padang bahwa anak remaja yang aktif menggunakan media internet dalam kehidupan sehari-hari bahwa anak dapat memiliki prestasi di bidang akademis maupun ekstrakurikuler selama ada ketegasan dan batasan yang dipatuhi si anak menuju kemandiriannya beraktifitas contohnya, adanya kebebasan dari ortu dalam mengakses internet selama itu tidak merusak kesehatan dan waktu istirahat serta memiliki respon yang baik saat orang dewasa atau lawan bicaranya berbicara.

Abstract

Kemajuan sebuah kota tidak terlepas dari sebuah kerjasama yang baik antara pemerintah dan warganya. UPIAK (Unit Pelayanan Informasi Advokasi dan Keluhan) adalah aplikasi yang diluncurkan oleh Pemko Pariaman dalam rangka menerima keluhan dan juga menjaring aspirasi serta partisipasi dari masyarakat. Semua keluhan dan aspirasi direspon dan diharapkan dapat mewujudkan Kota Pariaman yang lebih maju. Meskipun begitu, aplikasi UPIAK belum dimanfaatkan secara maksimal oleh masyarakat di Kota Pariaman. Sebagai public relations pemerintah Kota Pariaman, Dinas Komunikasi dan Informatika bertanggung jawab penuh atas berhasil atau tidaknya aplikasi tersebut dalam menumbuhkan partisipasi masyarakat Kota Pariaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana ASN Dinas Komunikasi dan Informatika Kota Pariaman menerapkan langkah-langkah public relations dalam pengelolaan aplikasi UPIAK serta menganalisis hambatan yang terjadi dalam penerapan aplikasi UPIAK tersebut dalam rangka mendorong partisipasi publik. Penelitian yang dilakukan menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa pertama, Dinas Komunikasi dan Informatika Kota Pariaman melalui UPIAK belum mampu menjaring aspirasi masyarakat secara maksimal. Kedua, hambatan yang terjadi bersifat teknis dan non teknis seperti server yang sering mati atau down, nomor yang dipakai untuk pengaduan tersebut berbatas waktu dan harus diperpanjang, kurangnya koordinasi antara bagian di dalam Dinas Komunikasi dan Informatika Kota Pariaman itu sendiri yang bertanggung jawab, serta keluhan yang tidak bisa direspon dengan cepat karena bukan kewenangan Pemerintah Kota Pariaman.
