Abstract

Generasi Z merupakan generasi pertama yang sejak dini sudah terpapar oleh teknologi. Teknologi-teknologi tersebut berupa komputer atau media elektronik lainnya seperti telepon seluler, jaringan internet, bahkan aplikasi media sosial. Dampak negative dari perkembangan teknologi ini menyebabkan perubahan tingkah laku dan etika mereka menurun. Lingkungan pertama dan utama yang berpengaruh terhadap perkembangan anak untuk mengontrol kemajuan teknologi ini adalah lingkungan keluarga, keluarga menjadi faktor utama bagi anak-anak untuk mulai menerima berbagai pendidikan yang pertama. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemajuan teknologi dan tantangan tradisi cukup mempengaruhi etika dan pola komunikasi yang harus diterapkan oleh tokoh agama di Kota Padang, baik dengan komunikasi langsung dan aturan atau dengan cara diskusi dan terbukanya diskusi bersama anak generasi post gen Z.

Abstract

This qualitative case study investigates teacher-student interpersonal communication at SMK N 1 Muara Bungo, with a specific focus on its effectiveness in addressing student delinquency. The findings underscore a nurturing environment that cultivates empathy and fosters social cohesion. Teachers demonstrate unwavering dedication, extending their support beyond school hours, which potentially aids in mitigating delinquent behaviors. Notable outcomes include heightened understanding, positive attitude shifts, and observable behavioral improvements among students. However, persistent challenges such as language barriers and the influence of technology hinder educators' efforts in effectively addressing delinquency. The study emphasizes the crucial role of nurturing positive relationships, providing sustained support, and implementing appropriate regulations and supervision to optimize communication strategies. By prioritizing these elements, educators can enhance their ability to create conducive environments that foster effective communication, ultimately contributing to a reduction in delinquency rates and promoting positive student outcomes.

Abstract

This study focuses on the viral communication phenomenon that occurred following the death of Nia Kurnia Sari, a teenage fried food seller from Nagari Guguak, 2x11 Kayu Tanam District, Padang Pariaman Regency, West Sumatra. This tragedy sparked widespread public attention, both locally and nationally, and generated diverse social responses spread through social media and online media. The purpose of this study is to examine the dynamics of viral communication that developed around the case. The research approach used a qualitative method with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, documentation, and content observation on various platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and online media. This study applies Emotional Contagion Theory to explain how expressions of sadness, anger, and sympathy shared on social media can spread widely and form a collective emotional resonance. This theory emphasizes that viral communication not only conveys information but also transmits emotions that influence people's collective perceptions and actions. The results show that viral communication, in this case, is formed through content that is full of emotion and able to arouse people's feelings, such as uploaded photos, narrative videos, and condolences spread on social media. Social media platforms served as a public space for expressing empathy, anger, and demands for justice for Nia Kurnia Sari. Public solidarity was even expressed through musical works created in response to the case.

Abstract

This paper examines the role of communication in managing social conflict from the perspective of development communication with a focus on empowerment. Social conflict is often viewed as a failure of development; however, this study argues that conflict also reflects inequalities in communication processes and access to media. The objective of this study is to analyze how media and empowerment-based communication strategies contribute to conflict management within development contexts. Using a narrative literature review with a systematic approach, this study analyzes scholarly articles published over the last 10–15 years from national and international journals. Thematic synthesis is employed to identify key patterns related to media roles, participatory communication, and empowerment strategies. The findings indicate that media can function both as a catalyst and a mediator of conflict, depending on communication practices, while empowerment-oriented strategies such as community participation, dialogue, and media literacy play a crucial role in reducing conflict escalation. The study concludes that integrating empowerment principles into development communication enhances conflict management effectiveness.

Abstract

Komunikasi pelayanan publik yang efektif diperlukan untuk mengoptimalkan pelayanan terpadu satu pintu. Permasalahan berkaitan dengan kurang baiknya peranan komunikasi pelayanan terpadu satu pintu pada Kantor Kementerian Agama Kota Padang dalam pelayanan kepada masyarakat, bisa saja terjadi karena kurangnya informasi tentang aturan atau program yang dijalankan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis aliran pesan komunikasi publik, menganalisis media komunikasi serta menganalisis hambatan komunikasi pelayanan terpadu satu pintu pada Kantor Kementerian Agama Kota Padang. Penelitian ini dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan paradigma konstruktivisme, penelitian ini menggunakan teknik wawancara mendalam, studi dokumentasi, teknik analisis data interaktif Miles Huberman, pengujian keabsahan data dengan triangulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aliran pesan komunikasi pelayanan terpadu satu pintu pada Kantor Kementerian Agama Kota Padang dilakukan secara internal dan eksternal. Proses komunikasi internal melibatkan komunikasi antara petugas pelayanan dan pegawai serta para pimpinan Kantor Kementerian Agama Kota Padang. Sedangkan komunikasi eksternal melibatkan petugas pelayanan bagian pendaftaran, bagian front office dan masyarakat dengan memanfaatkan media komunikasi internal dan eksternal. Pada aktivitas komunikasi tersebut masih ditemukan hambatan berupa hambatan teknis, terbatasnya pemanfaatan sarana prasarana, hambatan perilaku dan sikap pegawai yang kurang memiliki sense of mission. Komunikasi yang dilakukan oleh Kementerian Agama dengan Publik sudah dilakukan dengan berbagai media baik offline maupun online.   Effective public service communication is needed to optimise one-stop integrated services.  Problems related to the poor role of one-stop integrated service communication at the Padang City Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs in providing services to the community may occur due to a lack of information about the rules or programmes being implemented. This research aims to analyse the flow of public communication messages, analyse communication media and analyse communication barriers of one-stop integrated services at the Padang City Ministry of Religious Affairs Office. This research uses qualitative research methods with a constructivism paradigm, this research uses in-depth interview techniques, documentation studies, Miles Huberman interactive data analysis techniques, data validity testing with source triangulation.  The results showed that the one-stop integrated service communication message flow at the Padang City Ministry of Religious Affairs Office was carried out internally and externally. The internal communication process involves communication between service officers and employees and leaders of the Padang City Ministry of Religious Affairs Office. While external communication involves service officers in the registration section, the front office and the community by utilising internal and external communication media. In these communication activities there are still obstacles in the form of technical obstacles, limited use of infrastructure, behavioural obstacles and attitudes of employees who lack a sense of mission. Communication carried out by the Ministry of Religion with the Public has been carried out with various media both offline and online.

Abstract

Kemajuan teknologi digital saat ini mempengaruhi perkembangan media radio. Salah satunya Lembaga Penyiaran Publik Radio Republik Indonesia (LPP RRI) yang merupakan lembaga pemerintah yang memiliki tugas dan fungsi dalam program siaran, salah satu tugas lembaga ini adalah memberikan pelayanan informasi, pendidikan, hiburan yang sehat, kontrol dan perekat sosial, serta melestarikan budaya bangsa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis komunikasi tim produksi dan menganalisis jaringan yang terbentuk pada tim produksi dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi pendengar pada program Sumbar Pagi Radio Pro 1 RRI Padang. Peneliti menggunakan teori informasi organisasi Karl Weick pada komunikasi internal tim produksi program dialog Sumbar Pagi serta menggali secara mendalam bagaimana komunikasi Tim Produksi Program Sumbar Pagi dalam Pemenuhan Informasi Pendengar Radio Pro 1 RRI Padang dan jaringan komunikasi yang terbentuk pada tim produksi. Metode penelitian yang peneliti gunakan adalah kualitatif dengan memperoleh data dari multi sumber yaitu observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi tim produksi Radio RRI dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi pendengar pada Program Sumbar Pagi melewati proses komunikasi dalam 3 (tiga) tahapan yaitu komunikasi pra produksi berupa rapat agenda setting dengan seluruh anggota tim, komunikasi proses produksi yang terjadi didalam studio saat berlangsungnya program acara dialog Sumbar Pagi, dan komunikasi pasca produksi yang terjadi sebagai evaluasi bagi tim produksi. Dari data-data yang telah diperoleh, peneliti dapat menggolongkan jaringan pola komunikasi berdasarkan dari proses komunikasi atau aliran informasi dalam organisasi tim produksi program Sumbar Pagi, baik pada dimensi vertikal maupun dimensi horizontal. Dimana dalam dimensi vertikal terdapat proses komunikasi yang terjalin antara Penanggung Jawab kepada produser, pengarah acara, gatekeeper, redaktur, pewarta, penyiar, dan teknisi studio, sedangkan pada dimensi horizontal, proses komunikasi terjalin diantara tim produksi. Jaringan komunikasi yang terbentuk dalam tim produksi adalah jaringan pola semua saluran, dimana seluruh tim dapat berkomunikasi dengan seluruh anggota tim produksi tanpa adanya penghalang dalam berkomunikasi.

Abstract

Evaluation of complaint handling is very important to improve the quality of service to patients in hospital institutions. This study aims to analyze the implementation of complaint handling and communication barriers in complaint handling at Ropanasuri Surgical Specialty Hospital, Padang, West Sumatra. Qualitative methods through semi-structured interviews were used to explore information related to handling patient complaints. Data analysis was carried out using triangulation techniques, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results revealed that complaint handling at Ropanasuri Surgical Specialty Hospital has not been running optimally because there are still similar and repeated complaints by patients, both related to inadequate infrastructure, doctors who do come not according to schedule, and officers who are less capable of serving patients. The absence of a standard operating procedure for communication-related to handling patient complaints is believed to be the cause of the communication process not being maximized. Communication barriers that often occur are miscommunication between hospital staff and patients regarding referral period information, the wrong poly, and BPJS patients from outside the area who do not follow the correct procedures. This study emphasizes the importance of the existence of standard operating procedures as a guide for handling patient complaints and effective communication training specifically for employees at Ropanasuri Surgical Specialty Hospital.

Abstract

Buzzer merupakan istilah yang dewasa ini mudah dikenali oleh siapa saja. Kehadiran buzzer tidak terlepas dari penggunaan gawai di kalangan masyarakat atau yang dikenal dengan netizen. Aktivitas netizen di new media atau internet menyebabkan buzzer menjadi fenomena yang terus ada dan berkembang saat ini. Apa yang dilakukan buzzer semula hanya sebagai bagian dari promosi atau pemasaran produk oleh perusahaan-perusahaan jasa atau barang. Namun hal itu berubah seiring kontestasi politik tanah air. Berbagai platform media sosial digunakan untuk menyampaikan pesan ataupun postingan. Penggunaan platform media sosial pun menjadi ruang publik untuk menyampaikan pendapat ataupun komentar sesuai kapasitas warganet itu sendiri. Kapasitas dan latar belakang yang berbeda menimbulkan keriuhan di jagat maya. Tidak jarang sampai menimbulkan konflik. Hal ini tidak lain karena percakapan tersebut mampu mengubah pandangan masyarakat atau opini publik. Besarnya pengaruh pesan yang disampaikan oleh buzzer dalam mengubah opini publik membuatnya layak untuk diteliti. Konstruksi pesan dalam pembentukan opini publik pada dasarnya telah dirancang sedemikian rupa untuk mencapai tujuan tertentu. Khususnya di dunia politik. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif melalui pendekatan studi kasus. Dari penelitian diperoleh hasil bahwa konstruksi pesan yang dibuat oleh buzzer mampu untuk mengubah pandangan ataupun opini publik terhadap suatu hal ataupun narasi yang ada di tengah masyarakat

Abstract

Infosumbar is a new media originating from West Sumatra which was founded in 2010 starting from a Twitter account named @infoSumbar. Infosumbar then developed into an independent youth media and positioned itself as one of the media that won the trust of the citizens of West Sumatra. Infosumbar utilizes the latest social media platforms that are widely used by young people in conveying various information. This study aims to find out how the citizen journalism-based social media business model at Infosumbar uses a canvas business model which includes nine blocks consisting of value proposition, consumer segments, channels, customer relations, partnerships, key activities, key resources, cost structure and flows. income. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The results of the study illustrate that Infosumbar has a value proposition, namely as an independent Citizen Journalism-based media, which is offered to clients is advertising services for a product or service to be known by followers of Infosumbar as a whole. Because the current era is still in the digitalization stage, it is not surprising that conventional things have turned to digital. Infosumbar provides an offer so that local brands or advertised brands can receive information to the public. At Infosumbar, in managing customer relations, it uses a door to door model, namely from door to door with a system of picking up customers, not just waiting. The main resources at Infosumbar are people, offices, communication tools, human skills, and creativity. By adding a team, Infosumbar's current revenue stream comes from incoming advertisements. Until now, Infosumbar's key activity is known as citizen journalism-based social media.
