Abstract

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a pathological lung condition characterized by progressive and not fully reversible airflow obstruction. One of the main nursing problems that often arises is ineffective airway clearance due to accumulation of secretions. This study aims to describe the nursing care process for COPD patients with a focus on interventions for ineffective airway clearance. The method used is a descriptive case study with a nursing process approach. The results show that interventions such as effective coughing techniques, positional therapy, and adequate hydration can increase the effectiveness of airway clearance. The conclusion of this study is the need for a holistic and sustainable approach in handling respiratory problems in COPD patients.

Abstract

Abstract

Background: Regular physical activity has been shown to improve organ function, including the lungs. Vital lung capacity (VLC) is an important indicator of respiratory health. Nursing students often have a high academic load, potentially reducing physical activity. Objective: To determine the effect of physical activity patterns on vital lung capacity of nursing students at the Maluku Ministry of Health Polytechnic. Methods: This was a quantitative analytical study using a cross-sectional approach. A sample of 80 students was drawn using purposive sampling. Physical activity was measured using the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), while vital lung capacity was measured using a digital spirometer. Results: There was a significant relationship between physical activity patterns and vital lung capacity (p<0.05). Students with moderate-to-high activity levels had higher average VLC values (3.7±0.5 L) compared to those with light activity levels (2.9±0.4 L). Conclusion: Physical activity patterns significantly influence vital lung capacity. It is recommended that students maintain regular physical activity to support respiratory health.

Abstract

Patient safety has become a global issue that is very important to be implemented by every hospital, and should be a top priority to be implemented and it is related to the quality and image of the hospital. With the development of science and technology in health services, especially in hospitals, it makes health service procedures more complex and has the potential for unexpected events or adverse events. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between nurses' knowledge in implementing Standard Operating Procedures on safety from the impact of falling patients in the treatment room of the Regional General Hospital. The research method used in this study is quantitative with an analytic survey research design using a cross sectional approach, which is a type of research for each research subject only once and measurements are made of the character status or subject variables at the time of the examination. Based on the results of the analysis, univariate analysis has been carried out on each variable to produce a frequency distribution and bivariate analysis to see the relationship between the independent variable and the dependent variable. Where the statistical test used is the Chi-Square test and the alternative test is Fisher's Exact. The conclusion is that there is a relationship between the level of nurse knowledge, nurse attitudes, nurse skills and nurse compliance with Standard Operating Procedures in the Regional General Hospital room.

Abstract

Mobilization is an independent action for a nurse in carrying out nursing care for post-surgical patients. Many benefits can be achieved from early postoperative mobilization exercises, including increasing the speed of breathing depth, increasing circulation, increasing urination and metabolism. Laparotomy is an action involving the abdominal cavity that can be performed with open surgery. This research aims a. maintain body functions and prevent deterioration and restore the range of motion of certain activities so that sufferers can return to normal or at least be able to meet their daily needs. b. Streamlining blood circulation. c. helps breathing to become strong for and to determine the effect of early mobilization on intestinal peristalsis in postoperative laparotomy patients in the Inpatient Room of the Nene Mallomo Regional General Hospital. The research design used in this study was a quasi-experimental design: non-equivalent control group design. This research was carried out by providing intervention in the form of giving early mobilization. While the control group was not given any treatment by the researchers apart from observing intestinal peristalsis. Sampling was carried out by purposive sampling method with a total sample of 30 people consisting of a control group and a treatment group of 15 people each, then the results were tested by means of the Independent Sample T-Test with a significance level of α = 0.05. The results of this study found that changes in intestinal peristalsis in postoperative laparotomy patients in the Inpatient Room of the Nene Mallomo Regional General Hospital in the group given early mobilization (treatment group) averaged 11.200 (±0.262), changes in intestinal peristalsis in postoperative laparotomy patients in the Inpatient Room of the Nene Mallomo Regional General Hospital in the control group the average was 1.533 (± 0.723), and there was an effect of early mobilization on changes in intestinal peristalsis in postoperative laparotomy patients in the Inpatient Room of the Nene Mallomo Regional General Hospital (p=0.001 ). The conclusion is that early mobilization can increase intestinal peristalsis in post-laparotomy patients in the Inpatient Room of the Nene Mallomo Regional General Hospital so that it is expected that health workers will continue to carry out early mobilization in post-laparotomy patients and in post-laparotomy patients as early as possible to speed up the recovery process. function of the patient's digestive system.

Abstract

The lungs are one of the vital organs in the human body. To be precise, it is a respiratory (breathing) organ which is related to the respiratory and circulatory systems (blood circulation). Pulmonary tuberculosis is a contagious infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Meanwhile, Relapsed Pulmonary Tuberculosis is a patient with Pulmonary Tuberculosis who is declared cured or has had complete treatment and then comes back for treatment with a positive test result for a cough with phlegm from Acid-Fast Basil. The aim of this study was to determine the risk factors for pulmonary tuberculosis at the Central General Hospital of South Sulawesi. This research uses a cross sectional approach. The population in this study includes the case population, namely pulmonary tuberculosis sufferers who experienced a recurrence and the control population, namely pulmonary tuberculosis sufferers who have been declared cured. The sample in this study was all data on patients with Relapsed Pulmonary Tuberculosis who received treatment at the Central General Hospital of South Sulawesi Province. Data analysis was carried out univariate and bivariate using the chi square test. The results of the study can be concluded that there is no relationship between age and the incidence of relapse of pulmonary tuberculosis. The problem and diagnosis determined is to fulfill the need to breathe normally and the inability to fulfill the need to eat and drink enough. Meanwhile, the nursing intervention that was prepared was directed at helping to control the patient's low-fat and low-salt diet regarding sitting therapy in the Semi-Fowler position. This theory can be applied and applied well in treatment focused on pulmonary tuberculosis cases. For pulmonary tuberculosis patients who experience shortness of breath, improve the quality of their breathing by performing the semi-Fowler position as a non-pharmacological therapy.
