Abstract

Academic coaching in higher education has grown rapidly, yet evidence remains fragmented. This study aims to map the global research landscape and synthesize key contributions. A mixed bibliometric–systematic review design was employed. First, a bibliometric analysis using Scopus (search date: 8 October 2025; keyword “academic coaching”) identified 2,154 documents. Second, a PRISMA-guided systematic review screened studies explicitly examining academic coaching in higher education, resulting in 31 articles for synthesis. Findings show sharp growth in publications after 2017, dominated by Anglophone countries particularly the United States and the United Kingdom with strong concentration in medical and health professions education. Thematic analysis highlights coaching as a reflective and relational learning strategy that fosters self-regulated learning, professional identity development, and psychosocial well-being. This review contributes novelty by integrating bibliometric mapping with systematic synthesis, offering a comprehensive framework for academic coaching research. Future studies should broaden contexts beyond Anglophone settings and employ longitudinal designs to strengthen evidence

Abstract

In the era of instant communication, today, learning and instructional process has changed. This condition has led learning into a new era called e-learning, where learning process can be facilitated with proper use of information and communication technology. Combining information and communication technology appropriately to facilitate learning has become an impportant issue in e-learning design context. Therefore, we need such a kind of framework as a guidance in selecting and determining the appropritae blended learning strategy to address the learning objectives to be achieved. The framework offered in this article refered to the essential concept of e-learning itself, four quadrants of learning seting offered by Noord, two continuum of instructional strategy offerd by Smaldino et. al., and four standard of e-learning process adapted by author from the work of Norton. The framework offered are that in designing blended learning, we should consider the following aspects: 1) efforts to facilitate learning experiences as the essence of e-learning; 2) optimalization of the four learning process standard in the context of e-learning; 3) selection and determination of appropriate learning strategies; and 4) selection and determination of apropriate learning seting and ICTs used in four quadrants of learning seting.

Abstract

As technology integration has become increasingly central to contemporary education, the need for valid and contextually fair instruments for assessing teachers' Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) has become more urgent. This study aimed to develop and comprehensively validate a TPACK self-assessment instrument for Indonesian in-service teachers. A total of 1,297 teachers selected through purposive and convenience sampling from diverse provinces, school levels, and geographic locations participated in the study. The 48-item instrument, distributed across seven TPACK dimensions (TK, CK, PK, PCK, TCK, TPK, and TPACK), employed a 4-point Likert scale. Psychometric evaluation followed a multistage approach: (a) construct validity via corrected item-total correlations, in which all items met the r ≥ .30 threshold (range: .57–.79); (b) internal consistency reliability using Cronbach's alpha, with all dimensions exceeding .70 (α = .78–.97); (c) exploratory factor analysis (EFA), which supported the theoretical factor structure (KMO = .968; Bartlett's χ² = 54,279.51, p < .001); (d) confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), which yielded marginal fit indices (CFI = .707; RMSEA = .107), suggesting the need for model refinement; and (e) differential item functioning (DIF) analysis, which revealed minimal gender-based bias but notable location-based DIF. Overall, the instrument demonstrated strong psychometric properties for measuring teachers' TPACK in the Indonesian context. The findings highlight the importance of refining TPACK instruments to ensure greater measurement fairness across diverse educational settings and support future teacher professional development initiatives.

Abstract

This study aims to describe blended learning in the new normal era in vocational health schools. Vocational education contributes to preparing skilled workforce graduates. Therefore, vocational education must prepare the learning process based on the conditions and needs of students. The research method used was a qualitative approach. A case study was conducted to empirically investigate the phenomenon of the learning process in the new normal era through blended learning. This study collaborated with 96 fourth-semester and 92 sixth-semester students at the Medical Laboratory Technology Study Program in Associate Degree of Health Polytechnic Ministry of Health Manado. The study results showed that during Covid-19, students could not practice directly in the laboratory freely, so it took much work to apply the required course applications in the form of practice. Although out of 188 students, only 110 students often use smartphones in the blended learning process. Students experience the most serious difficulty in understanding and practicing laboratory quality control courses, with a percentage of 38.6%. Therefore, laboratory quality control is considered in terms of student responses to difficult subjects to understand during the online learning process. So that further research is needed to develop a learning system that can increase student learning motivation. Not only up to motivation but students also have to understand how to use technology well.
