Abstract

This study aims to determine the impact of the dual role of the sandwich generation on the psychological well-being of individuals entering adulthood in Cirebon City who take care of their parents and fulfill family responsibilities. The main focus is on strategies and efforts to maintain a balance between family responsibilities and personal well-being, in order to achieve a more balanced and harmonious life. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach to understand the subjective experience of individuals who enter adulthood of 20-30 years as the sandwich generation in Cirebon City. In-depth interviews were conducted to explore the emotions, expectations, and challenges that individuals face while caring for their parents and siblings, as well as how they manage their personal health while taking on the dual role. The results of this study show that some informants are forced to take on the role of the sandwich generation due to family demands. This study shows that the sandwich generation faces a major challenge in balancing the role of caring for their parents and siblings with personal well-being. Although their responsibilities are different, good communication skills and stress management strategies, such as taking time for yourself, are both very helpful. They hope to create financial stability and a fairer division of responsibilities.

Abstract

The One-Stop Integrated Administration System (SAMSAT) is a public institution responsible for motor vehicle administration. In practice, several issues remain, such as burdensome procedures, disruptions to technology-based service systems, variations in service quality as perceived by the public, and coordination problems. These conditions indicate a discrepancy between established service policies and their implementation in practice. Drawing on Mirelee S. Grindle’s theory, this study aimed to analyze the implementation of service policies at SAMSAT Kuningan, identify the factors supporting and hindering their implementation, and formulate strategies to improve policy implementation. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques including observation, documentation, and interviews. The results indicated that the implementation of service policies at SAMSAT Kuningan had generally proceeded adequately based on indicators of policy content and implementation context. However, several operational challenges persisted, including information system disruptions, suboptimal use of digital services by some members of the public, and complaints regarding service responsiveness. Inter-agency cooperation, availability of service facilities, and digital service innovations were identified as key supporting factors in implementation.

Abstract

Word of mouth regarding traditional cuisine is an effective marketing strategy for introducing a business brand to potential customers, as it originates from consumers who share their firsthand experiences of trying the product. Recommendations based on personal experience are considered more trustworthy and authentic than digital advertisements. The purpose of this study is to examine the word-of-mouth process at the Kue Cucur Endolita Barokah SME in building brand identity. The research method employed a descriptive qualitative approach through in-depth interviews with the business owner, resellers, customers, and consumers to examine the word-of-mouth processes and strategies in shaping the brand identity of Kue Cucur Endolita Barokah. The results of the study indicate that word of mouth has proven highly effective in building the brand identity of Kue Cucur Endolita Barokah through the implementation of five interrelated elements of word of mouth, namely: credible talkers, such as resellers, customers, and family members; topics of discussion that focus on texture, taste, and authentic palm sugar (gula aren) as the main ingredient; tools of communication that include direct interaction and WhatsApp; taking part, which involves direct communication and WhatsApp interactions with quick responses and friendly service; and tracking, that is, relationship management through the maintenance of good connections with consumers. Furthermore, the role of word of mouth extends beyond being merely a promotional tool; it also serves to strengthen brand image and affirm the authenticity of the product.

Abstract

This study explores the identification and utilization of local resources and organizational assets to enhance the productivity and sustainability of KWT Gemas Implantan. The background highlights the challenges faced by community-based agricultural groups in optimizing land, institutional capacity, and market engagement to generate sustainable income and improve members' well-being. The study aims to assess the community's existing assets, institutional structures, and operational practices to formulate strategies for effective program planning and capacity building. A qualitative approach was employed, combining interviews, direct observation, and group discussions to systematically map social, economic, and environmental assets. Validation was conducted through cross-checking among members and participatory meetings. The results indicate that KWT Gemas Implantan possesses significant potential, including 2 hectares of cultivable land, an officially structured organization, extensive marketing networks, educational partnerships, and prior experience from training and coaching activities. These assets have contributed to consistent productivity, enhanced member skills, and relative organizational independence, though administrative systems remain largely manual. Abstract

Local Own-Source Revenue (Pendapatan Asli Daerah/PAD) is a key fiscal component of a region, as it reflects the socioeconomic conditions of the community as well as the region's growth and self-reliance. In an effort to increase PAD, the Cirebon City Government issued a new policy regarding local tax and retribution rates through Cirebon City Regional Regulation (Peraturan Daerah/Perda) No. 1 of 2024. However, the implementation process has not proceeded as anticipated; social unrest has emerged as a result of the substantial increase in Land and Building Tax (Pajak Bumi dan Bangunan Perdesaan dan Perkotaan/PBB-P2), which reached 1,000% and has been perceived as an excessive burden on the community. This study aims to analyse the implementation of this policy using William N. Dunn's policy evaluation theory, which encompasses six criteria: effectiveness, efficiency, adequacy, equity, responsiveness, and accuracy. The methodology employed is qualitative descriptive, utilising direct observation, documentation, and interviews with the Regional Revenue and Finance Agency (Badan Pengelolaan Keuangan dan Pendapatan Daerah/BPKPD) and taxpayers. The research results indicate that this policy effectively increased local own-source revenue (PAD) by 20.09% in 2025; however, it remains suboptimal with respect to the criteria of responsiveness, accuracy, and equity. Challenges in implementation also persist in relation to effectiveness, adequacy, and efficiency. In response to escalating social unrest, the local government ultimately revised the regulations pertaining to PBB-P2 by the end of 2025. It is recommended that the government increase the intensity of public outreach, ensure equitable access to technology, and strengthen the competencies of implementing staff in order to balance fiscal interests with public welfare, and that a formal complaint-handling mechanism be established to serve as a basis for periodic policy improvements.

Abstract

PT Jasa Raharja (Persero) is a state-owned company operating in the insurance sector under the supervision of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia. This company has a significant function in distributing compensation to victims who have experienced accidents. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of the compensation claim service provided by PT Jasa Raharja (Persero) in delivering traffic accident protection to the public. The study focuses on three indicators of effectiveness based on Duncan's theory in Steers (1985): goal achievement, integrity, and adaptation. The methodological approach is qualitative and descriptive in nature. Data sources consist of primary and secondary data, with data collection methods including observation, interviews, and documentation encompassing photographs. The results of the study show that the accident compensation claim process carried out by PT Jasa Raharja Cirebon City has been conducted in a manner consistent with established procedures; however, in practice, obstacles remain, including inconsistency in claim settlement times, limited public understanding of the role of PT Jasa Raharja (Persero), and a limited number of employees. These conditions indicate the need to increase the number of employees, strengthen comprehensive socialization efforts, and optimize the service process to operate more effectively

Abstract

The family serves as the primary foundation for shaping individual behavior, values, and mental health. A warm, supportive, and communicative family environment can provide a strong basis for the psychological well-being of each member. Conversely, conditions such as conflict, neglect, and poor communication may trigger mental health issues, particularly among adolescents. In the current era, especially for Generation Z, mental health has become a critical issue, yet it is often overlooked by some parents. Adolescents who do not receive sufficient attention and emotional support from their families are more likely to experience psychological problems, including anxiety, depression, and difficulties in adaptation. This study aims to identify the roles and responsibilities of the family in supporting children's mental health, with a focus on communication patterns, emotional closeness, and cultural values that shape the dynamics of family relationships. Through a qualitative approach, this research explores how families can serve as vital agents in the prevention of mental disorders and the development of psychological resilience in adolescents.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (KKN), which requires students to be physically separated from their partners, often results in relationships that are fraught with emotional challenges and communication limitations, making interpersonal communication an important element in maintaining the quality and meaning of those relationships during service. This research aims to understand the experiences and difficulties faced by students during KKN, especially how they manage interpersonal communication to sustain their relationships despite distance and differing schedules. This study uses a qualitative method with a narrative approach. The researcher collected data through in-depth interviews, observations, and structured documentation with three students who were undergoing KKN and had long-distance relationships, as well as from books and journals. The data were also supported by observations and personal files. The results show that students experience various complex feelings, such as longing, sadness, anxiety, and frustration, mainly due to changes in communication routines, heavy KKN workloads, and limited time. Their communication patterns shifted from emotional to more functional, using digital media such as WhatsApp for text messages and video calls. The main strategies for maintaining relationships are honesty, regular communication, conflict resolution, commitment, and mutual understanding. This study concludes that successful long-distance relationships during KKN require flexible communication skills, good emotional management, and a willingness to understand one's partner's limitations. It provides additional insights into interpersonal communication in specific situations and emphasizes the importance of flexibility and emotional intelligence in maintaining relationships under pressure.
