Abstract

One of the complications of diabetes mellitus is diabetic retinopathy. The results of the research conducted to determine awareness and knowledge about diabetic retinopathy showed that awareness and knowledge about diabetic retinopathy were not satisfactory. Knowledge and awareness about diabetic retinopathy are needed to reduce visual disturbances due to diabetes mellitus. This research was a literature review using three databases, namely Google Sholar, PubMed, ProQuest, and Dimensions, and was published in 2017-2021. A total of 11 articles with a cross-sectional design met the criteria. The results show that the shortest duration of diabetes is one year, and the longest is >10 years, there are more male respondents than female respondents, and the age range is between 18-88 years. Knowledge related to diabetic retinopathy shows the poor result. Factors that influence knowledge are age, gender, religion, ethnicity, income, education level, occupation, marital status, diabetes duration, type of diabetes mellitus, patient perception, knowledge of systemic complications, and previous experience of visual impairment. Sources of information are from health staff, friends, or family of fellow sufferers and the media. Good knowledge is influenced by internal factors and external factors related to how to form a mindset and make decisions. The source of information obtained is used as a reference for knowledge and behavior formation. Providing education can be applied to increase patient knowledge about diabetic retinopathy.

Abstract

Gempa bumi adalah bencana alam yang sering terjadi di Indonesia. Kota Jember merupakan salah satu kota yang terletak di sumber gempa potensial, yaitu terdapat lempeng Indo-Australia dan lempeng Eurasia di daerah selatan Jawa Timur. Sekolah merupakan bangunan yang menampung banyak individu sehingga dapat menyebabkan korban jiwa dan material akibat gempa bumi. Siswa SMPN 1 Jenggawah, Kabupaten Jember, belum pernah mendapatkan penyuluhan tentang kesiapsiagaan gempa bumi., sehingga siswa tidak siap jika menghadapi bencana gempa bumi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan intensi dan sikap siswa menghadapi bencana gempa bumi. Metode pendidikan kesehatan yang digunakan adalah team building games. Setelah mendapatkan materi melalui ceramah, siswa dibagi menjadi kelompok-kelompok kecil dan berjalan melalui pos-pos untuk mengaplikasikan materi yang diperoleh. Evaluasi dilakukan dengan one group pre-post test design. Pendidikan Kesehatan diikuti oleh 68 siswa. Hasil pre-test menunjukkan 13,3% siswa memiliki intensi lemah dan 17,6% memiliki sikap negative. Setelah mendapatkan Pendidikan Kesehatan dengan team building games seluruh siswa memiliki intensi positif. Sedangkan sikap negative berkurang menjadi 14,7%. Pendidikan Kesehatan dengan metode team building games bisa meningkatkan intensi seluruh siswa dalam menghadapi gempa bumi, dan menurunkan jumlah siswa yang memiliki sikap negative. Team building games dapat digunakan sebagai metode untuk meningkatkan intensi dan sikap dalam menghadapi gempa bumi bagi siswa SMP.

Abstract

Background: Post-operative ileus or POI is one of the most common problems found and disruptive after laparotomy or laparoscopy, both electively and emergency. Potential complications that can arise from POI with a prolonged period include increased post-operative pain, increased nausea and vomiting, complications in the lungs, worsening of the surgical wound healing process, inadequate oral intake, delayed post-operative mobilization, a long hospitalization period, and increased healthcare costs. Therefore, a non-pharmacological approach is needed to minimize the incidence of POI, including chewing gum therapy. Purpose: To determine the effectiveness of chewing gum therapy in preventing Post-Operative Ileus (POI) in post-laparotomy patients. Method: A case study involving two patients: intervention patients and comparison patients. Chewing gum therapy is given as much as two pieces with a chewing time of 10-15 minutes in a total of 3 times/day, and observations are carried out every 6 hours. Results: The average pain scale was lower in intervention patients, nausea occurred in comparison patients, the average bowel sounds were higher in intervention patients, and the time to the first fart after surgery was shorter in intervention patients compared to comparison patients. Conclusion: Chewing gum therapy can reduce symptoms of POI complications and accelerate the reactivation of gastrointestinal motility after surgery.

Abstract

Penelitian kepustakaan dengan teknik dokumentasi dan dianalisis dengan metode induktif dan deskriptif analitik. Penelitian ini untuk menjawab pertanyaan bagaimana Relevansi dan faktor pendukung dan penghambat antara Pendidikan Islam dalam Kandungan Isi Kitab Alala Tanalul ilma dengan pendidikan modern. Sedangkan penelitian ini mempunyai tujuan yaitu : mengkaji dan menjelaskan konsep Pendidikan Islam dalam Kandungan Isi Kitab Alala Tanalul Ilma dengan pendidikan modern dan faktor pendukung dan penghambat antara pendidikan Islam dalam kandungan isi kitab Alala Tanalul Ilma dengan pendidikan modern. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa syarat-syarat menuntut ilmu dalam pendidikan Islam dengan pendidikan modern : (1) Sama-sama mengedepankan kecerdasan. Jadi, relevan dengan keduanya, (2) Sama-sama membutuhkan minat besar, Jadi, relevan dengan keduanya, (3) Kesabaran menjadi kunci bagi keberhasilan, Jadi, relevan dengan keduanya, (4) Sama-sama membutuhkan biaya, Jadi, relevan dengan keduanya, (5) Pendidik dibutuhkan sebagai pelaku utama pendidikan, Jadi, relevan dengan keduanya, (6) Sama-sama mengenal waktu lama, Jadi, relevan dengan keduanya. Faktor Pendukung pendidikan Islam dengan pendidikan modern adalah: Orientasi ilmu pengetahuan, etos kerja tinggi, spiritual diri, fasilitas (fisik, non fisik), pelaku utama pendidikan, orientasi ke depan.

Abstract

Early Childhood Education in its standards is to train them to learn socially and maximize physical and psychological growth and development. Therefore, each playgroup and kindergarten also competes to create a superior program as an attraction and characteristic. RA Lukman Al Hakim is an early childhood education institution whose flagship program is tahfidz al-Qur'an. Because of these characteristics, this research aims to describe the tahfidz program implemented at RA Lukman Al Hakim and its methods. This research uses a case study type by maximizing observation as a data collection instrument. The results of this study concluded that RA Lukman Al Hakim only focused on memorizing juz 30 or juz 'amma and became a superior program that was distinctive compared to surrounding areas. Meanwhile, the Tahfidz learning methods at RA Lukman Al Hakim are very diverse but have not yet implemented media in teaching tahfidz.

Abstract

Employee performance is a key factor in the effectiveness of government organizations, especially in the regional education sector. Effective leadership can affect employee motivation, productivity, and job satisfaction. This study aims to analyze the influence of leadership style on employee performance at the Tanggamus Regency Education Office and identify the most effective leadership strategies in improving the quality of employee work. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study method. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, direct observations, and documentation analysis, with the main informants consisting of heads of agencies, heads of fields, and employees with various levels of position. Data analysis was carried out using data reduction techniques, data presentation, and conclusion drawing as proposed by Miles and Huberman (1994). The results of the study show that transformational leadership styles are more effective in improving employee motivation and performance compared to authoritarian or transactional leadership styles. Leaders who are open to innovation, provide emotional support, and implement effective communication are able to create a more productive and harmonious work environment. However, the study also found that leadership effectiveness is greatly influenced by external factors such as national policies, incentive systems, and the availability of work facilities. The implications of this study show that strengthening the leadership system in the local government sector needs to be accompanied by leadership training programs, incentive system reform, and the use of technology in education management. This study contributes to the development of leadership theory in the context of public organizations and provides recommendations for policymakers in improving the effectiveness of leadership in the regional education sector.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the performance of Guidance and Counseling teachers in facing the dynamics of curriculum change. This study focuses on analyzing the strengths and opportunities, weaknesses and threats, and strategies of Guidance and Counseling teacher performance in facing curriculum change. The research approach used is qualitative with descriptive methods. The subjects of this study were three Guidance and Counseling teachers of junior high schools in Tanggamus who were selected through purposive sampling techniques. Data were obtained through observation, structured interviews, and documentation which were analyzed using triangulation techniques to increase validity. The results of the study indicate that Guidance and Counseling teachers have strengths and opportunities to face weaknesses and threats, as well as strategies in optimizing the performance of Guidance and Counseling teachers in facing curriculum change. The strengths and opportunities of Guidance and Counseling teachers include: 4 competencies of Guidance and Counseling teachers, as well as stakeholder support, available infrastructure, peer support, and student perceptions of Guidance and Counseling. Meanwhile, the weaknesses and threats are inability in time management, lack of focus, not yet optimal in archiving, leaders who do not understand BK, facilities and infrastructure, various student problems, and changes in government policy. The strategy is that Guidance and Counseling teachers are able to: (1) utilize existing strengths and opportunities, (2) overcome weaknesses by utilizing existing opportunities, (3) utilize strengths to face threats, and (4) minimize weaknesses to face threats. This study contributes to the development of using SWOT analysis in analyzing supporting and inhibiting factors in the performance of Guidance and Counseling teachers which will be a guideline in determining strategies so that the performance of Guidance and Counseling teachers in facing curriculum changes can run optimally.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Learning Management based on Problem Based Learning(PBL) and Learning Interest on Student Achievement in State Elementary Schools in Pugung District.The PBL model is considered effective in improving students’ critical thinking and problem-solvingskills. The research method used was quantitative with an ex post facto approach, involving 100teachers from 36 schools in the sub-district. Data was collected through questionnaires and conceptcomprehension tests, then analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that PBLLearning Management had a significant positive influence on student achievement, with a regressioncoefficient of 0.571. In addition, Interest in Learning also contributes positively to student achievement,with a regression coefficient of 0.593. Simultaneous tests showed that the two variables togetherexplained 70.7% of the variation in student achievement. These findings confirm the importance ofgood learning management and the development of learning interests in improving student learningoutcomes. This research is expected to be the basis for the development of more effective educationpolicies in rural areas.

Observations conducted by the researcher on the principal andteachers of the Aster 1 Cluster, which consists of public elementary schools (SD Negeri) inTanggamus Regency, aimed to assess the effectiveness of indicators for improving workmotivation and teacher performance. Through classroom teacher observations and interviews, itwas concluded that more attention is needed to improve the quality of education in schools byfocusing on teachers’ motivation and performance. Based on the above issues, the author hasprepared a thesis proposal entitled “The Influence of Principal’s Academic Supervision on WorkMotivation and Performance of Public Elementary School Teachers in Tanggamus Regency”. Theaim is to examine the influence of academic supervision by principals on teachers’ work motivationand performance. This study uses a quantitative approach with a simple regression design. Toobtain the necessary information, an ex post facto method was applied. The population in thisstudy consists of public elementary school teachers in the Aster 2 Cluster, Sumberejo District,which includes 6 schools. The sample size was determined using the Slovin formula. The researchinstruments include questionnaires on the principal’s academic supervision, work motivation,and teacher performance. Data analysis involved: (a) prerequisite tests, including normality test,homogeneity test, and multicollinearity test; and (b) hypothesis testing using simple regressionanalysis. After conducting the analysis, the research findings revealed that: (a) The principal’sacademic supervision significantly affects teachers’ work motivation, with an influence percentageof 95.3%; and (b) The principal’s academic supervision significantly affects teacher performance,with an influence percentage of 80.2%. The results of this study are also expected to serve as areference for future research, which should consider other variables that may influence teachers’ workmotivation and performance, such as pedagogical competence, communication, and other factors.

Abstract

Leadership in education significantly impacts the success of educational units and students’ academic performance. Effective principals foster inclusive communication, reward achievements, and encourage teamwork, creating a motivating environment. Work climate is equally crucial, influencing teacher performance through support, communication, recognition, and access to resources, enhancing teacher motivation and satisfaction. This study examines the influence of leadership and work climate on teacher performance in public junior high schools in Pagelaran Subdistrict. Using a quantitative approach and an ex-post facto design, data were collected from teachers at SMP Negeri 1 and SMP Negeri 2 Pagelaran through purposive sampling. Analysis methods included normality, linearity, and multicollinearity tests, along with regression analyses. Findings reveal that principal leadership positively affects teacher performance (40.5%), work climate has a stronger effect (48.9%), and their combined influence contributes 49.7%. These results emphasize the importance of leadership and work climate in enhancing educational outcomes.
