Abstract

Disasters affect family dynamics as the smallest social unit in society. Disasters that occur in communities have a considerable impact on the lives and property, and mental health of survivors. In addition, it also affects human health, which risks undermining the well-being of families, due to the health problems that can occur. The family's unpreparedness in these tasks can increase the psychological and physical impacts experienced by its members. Therefore, strategies in disaster preparedness are important to reduce the impact. This study aims to explore strategies to improve family resilience in disaster mitigation. The number of interviews is 21 people, consisting of women and men with an average age of 45 years, who have different backgrounds. Including academians, business, community, government, and journalists. The results showed that the strategy to increase family resilience to disaster is based on 5 family tasks from Maglaya's theory, including that families must have a preparedness plan and knowledge about disaster management through education to families about the steps that must be taken before, during, and after a disaster is very helpful in increasing family resilience. The conclusion is that disaster training and simulation programs involving family members have proven effective in building confidence and necessary skills. This research can be concluded that family disaster preparedness depends on good knowledge and planning. Disaster nurses play an important role in education and training, which helps reduce psychological and physical impacts. Thus, community safety and well-being can be improved by exploring strategies to improve family resilience in disaster mitigation

Abstract

Diabetic wounds are one of the most challenging complications faced by individuals with diabetes. These wounds not only pose serious physical threats, such as infection and limb loss, but also cause significant psychological distress. One ethical dilemma commonly encountered in diabetic wound care involves decision-making about treatment options, especially when patients request amputation due to pain or economic burden, while healthcare providers aim to preserve the limb through advanced wound care techniques. This situation requires careful consideration of both medical and ethical aspects to ensure patient-centered care. The objective of wound care in such cases is not only physical healing but also improving the patient’s psychological well-being. When care is holistic and empathetic, patients are more likely to engage in treatment positively and without fear, especially during painful procedures such as dressing changes. This case highlights a 55-year-old man with a 20-year history of uncontrolled diabetes and a chronic, infected wound on his right leg. The patient's initial desire for amputation was addressed through a multidisciplinary approach using the TIME method Tissue management, Inflammation control, Moisture balance, and Epithelial advancement. The structured, ethical, and compassionate care helped the patient reconsider amputation, demonstrating that rural nurses and health teams can resolve ethical dilemmas and support better patient outcomes.

Abstract

Mathematics learning is often perceived as difficult by students due to its abstract nature and the need for strong logical thinking and visualization skills, particularly in geometry topics such as solid shapes. Many students struggle to grasp three-dimensional concepts through verbal explanations or static textbook images alone. Therefore, there is a need for innovative teaching materials that can bridge conceptual understanding in a more concrete and engaging way. This study aims to develop mathematics teaching materials using the GeoGebra application for the topic of solid geometry to enhance student engagement in the learning process. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The validation process involved experts in subject matter, design, and media. The research subjects consisted of 30 eighth-grade students and a mathematics teacher at SMP Negeri 1 Uwapa. Two instruments were used: expert validation questionnaires and practicality questionnaires for both teachers and students. All instruments utilized a Likert scale for quantitative data analysis regarding the validity and practicality of the teaching materials. Based on the research findings, the developed mathematics teaching materials received validation scores of 94.40% from subject matter experts, 97.25% from design experts, and 84.00% from media experts, classifying them as highly valid. Abstract

This study aims to analyse the application of continuous improvement cycle-based evaluation and its integration with effective control strategies in order to increase the chances of programme success. The method used is a literature review with a descriptive-analytical approach, which examines concepts, theories, and empirical findings from various scientific sources such as journals, books, and research reports. The results of the study indicate that the application of a continuous improvement cycle model, such as Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA), enables program evaluation to be carried out systematically, adaptively, and repeatedly, so that weaknesses can be identified and corrected quickly. Meanwhile, effective control strategies—including the establishment of clear performance indicators, continuous monitoring, proactive risk management, strong governance, and the use of technology—can strengthen the evaluation process and ensure the efficient achievement of programme objectives. The synergy between these two approaches not only improves programme performance and quality but also fosters an organisational culture that is responsive, accountable, and quality-oriented. These findings have important implications for programme managers across sectors to adopt an integrated evaluation-control framework as a long-term management strategy.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of using audio-visual media and learning motivation on student learning outcomes in science (IPA) in the subject of green plants, with a specific focus on the process of photosynthesis. Using a quantitative approach with a 2x2 factorial experimental design, this study involved 40 fifth-grade students from SDN Inpres Maidai, divided into two groups based on the type of learning media (audio-visual and images) and level of learning motivation (high and low). The instruments used included achievement tests and motivation questionnaires that had been validated for validity and reliability. The results of the two-way ANOVA analysis revealed that both learning media and learning motivation had a significant influence on student learning outcomes (p < 0.05), with audio-visual media and high motivation contributing the most to academic achievement. However, no significant interaction was found between the two variables, indicating that learning media and learning motivation operate independently in influencing learning outcomes. These findings emphasize the importance of selecting appropriate learning media and strategies to enhance learning motivation as two separate yet complementary approaches in improving the effectiveness of science education at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of liquidity, leverage, cash flow, and managerial agency cost on financial distress among manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Using multiple linear regression analysis, the results show that liquidity and cash flow have a significant negative effect on financial distress, indicating that firms with higher current ratios and stronger operating cash flows are less likely to experience financial difficulties. In contrast, leverage and managerial agency costs have a significant positive effect, suggesting that excessive debt and inefficient managerial spending increase the likelihood of financial distress. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.983 indicates that these four variables explain 98.3% of the variation in financial distress. The findings emphasize the importance of maintaining financial efficiency and controlling agency costs to enhance corporate financial stability.
