Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the WOW Crossword application as a part of Game-Based Learning in teaching vocabulary through students’ feedback. This study is a descriptive quantitative approach. The subject of the research is the students at SMK N 1 Warureja. There were 36 students majoring in X AKL.3. The data was gained from students’ feedback consisted of 15 statements, which were categorized into 4 rating scales in the level of Very Poor (1), Poor (2), Good (3), and Very Good (4). The feedback form will then be analysed and tabulated to determine the students’ Feedback performance, vocabulary achievement of the students, and students’ Feedback interpretation criteria in each meeting. The average feedback scores started at 51.5 to 60, which indicates that a significant majority of the students expressed high levels of satisfaction, motivation, and enjoyment during the learning process. Furthermore, feedback scores showed relatively low standard deviations, such as 3.2 in Meeting 5 and 4.3 in Meeting 4. The study also examined the development of students’ vocabulary acquisition at each of the meetings. The average vocabulary scores ranged from 13.78 to 22.67, reflecting the increasing familiarity of students with both the content and the game mechanism, as well as more targeted or appropriately challenging vocabulary tasks in those sessions. The minimum total score obtained by a student was 1854, while the maximum was 2044, out of a possible maximum value of 2160, which was then categorized into Good to Very Good. The Students consistently provided high feedback scores across all meetings, indicating strong motivation, enjoyment, and satisfaction with the learning method. These results confirm the potential of game-based tools to create an interactive and stimulating classroom atmosphere.

Abstract

Abstract

The information technology revolution has changed the face of global trade, including in Indonesia. Rapid advances in digital technology have had a significant impact on the national trading system, where buying and selling activities are no longer limited to conventional trade but have developed into electronic-based trade transactions. This study analyzes the effectiveness of regulations on the collection of income tax from e-commerce transactions via social media on tax fairness for MSMEs in Indonesia. The evolution of e-commerce tax regulations shows a gradual development from the 2021 HPP Law to PMK 37/2025, but there are still significant legal gaps in the regulation of transactions via social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp Business. Using a normative legal research method with a legislative and conceptual approach, this study applies Soerjono Soekanto’s theory of legal effectiveness and John Rawls’ theory of justice as analytical tools. The findings indicate that PMK 37/2025 is ineffective in reaching social media transactions due to the informal characteristics of these platforms that enable transactions without formal registration, payments through personal transfers, and communication via private chats. This regulatory gap creates distributive injustice that disadvantages traditional MSMEs, who are bound by strict tax obligations while competitors on social media can avoid tax burdens. Soekanto’s theoretical analysis shows the regulation fails to meet the implementability criteria for the social media segment, while Rawls’ theory identifies violations of equality and reasonableness principles that create unfair competition. The study concludes that comprehensive regulation combining technological automation with procedural simplification is necessary to achieve equitable competitive conditions for all business actors.

Abstract

Downsizing is the most popular strategic choice in organizational change, especially in the private sector. The strategy often chosen in downsizing is reducing employees, eliminating structure and function to produce efficiency, productivity, and competitiveness. However, a study is needed to elaborate on the concept of downsizing. The purpose of this research is to map the downsizing concept, describe how this strategy is implemented, its dynamics and development, as well as the effectiveness level of downsizing strategy. This research takes the form of a systematic literature review, which involves an assessment based on articles/publications related to downsizing. Downsizing articles are sourced from the Scopus database, and then mapped based on the number of articles per year, authors, countries, affiliations, and sponsors. As a result, the goal of downsizing has not been supported by strong evidence in the field because downsizing and efficiency do not have a strong correlation. Indeed, downsizing results in negative impacts on both organizations and employees. His mistake was to put the strategy of reducing employees and financial efficiency as the main goal. Therefore, downsizing must be part of a paradigmatic organizational change strategy and not merely serve as a short-term strategy.
