Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using real-life problems to improve novice counsellors' critical analytical thinking in humanistic counselling courses. The research method uses an experiment with a pretest-posttest control group design. The instrument used is a critical-analytical thinking scale. The research sample used a purposive sampling technique, which consisted of 84 students of the 2018 Guidance and Counseling UNY Study Program who took the Humanistic Counseling course. The samples were separated into experimental and control groups of 42 students. The pre-test and post-test data were analyzed using an independent sample t-test using SPSS Amos 25 software. The results show that the use of real-life problems in the Humanistic Counseling course was proven effective in improving students' critical-analytical thinking as novice counsellors. As a result, students are more stimulated to practice analyzing cases in various ways and can activate their cognitive complexity processes as novice counsellors.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the increasing incidence of speech delay in early childhood, which not only affects children’s language development but also creates emotional and psychological pressure on parents, making resilience an essential aspect of the caregiving process. This study is significant because parenting patterns are presumed to play a major role in shaping parental resilience when facing developmental challenges in their children. The aim of this research is to analyze the relationship between parenting patterns and the resilience of parents who have children with speech delay. Using a quantitative approach with a correlational design, the study was conducted with 16 parents of children aged 5–6 years at TK Pertiwi 1 Padang, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using validated and reliable questionnaires on parenting patterns and parental resilience, and later analyzed through normality tests, linearity tests, Pearson correlation, and simple linear regression. The results indicate that the data were normally distributed and the relationship between variables was linear, with a Pearson correlation coefficient of 0,423 and a significance value of 0,003, indicating a positive, moderate, and significant relationship between parenting patterns and parental resilience. These findings show that warm, responsive, and consistent parenting contributes to parents’ ability to manage stress, maintain emotional stability, and adapt while raising children with speech delay. The study’s implications highlight the importance of family interventions, parenting training, and social support to strengthen parental resilience. The study concludes that parenting patterns are an important factor to consider in efforts to enhance the psychological resilience of families with children experiencing speech delay

Abstract

Since implementing the Child-Friendly City (KLA) program in 2009, Yogyakarta City has successfully obtained the Nindya predicate in 2018-2019, one of which is through the Child-Friendly Village (KRA) Program strategy. However, over time, the implementation of the KRA Program is not without problems. One of the problems is the high population dynamics and mobility and the density of personal activities which are one of the causes of several KRA Villages experiencing stagnation in their activities. This study aims to describe the implementation of the KRA Program in the Child-Friendly Village of RW 16, Karanganyar Brontokusuman Mergangsan Village, Yogyakarta City. This study uses a qualitative approach with informants from the KRA Task Force administrators and several related agencies. Triangulation techniques are used to test the validity of the data obtained before being presented. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the KRA Program in Karanganyar Village RW 16 in 5 (five) clusters has not been running well. The implementation model from Edwards III shows the existence of communication factors, resources, implementer attitudes, and bureaucratic structures that are less than optimal in supporting program implementation. The decline in communication and coordination between administrators since 2020 due to their busy schedules is one of the contributing factors. Furthermore, limited program funding sources also hamper the implementation of the KRA program. Government funding remains severely limited. Government assistance is provided primarily in the form of counseling and mentoring. To support funding, efforts have been made to raise funds from community contributions, but the amounts are relatively small. The business sector has also provided assistance in the form of goods or facilities. Keywords: Program Implementation; Child-Friendly Villages; Child Protection.
