Abstract

This study explores the life and contributions of Muda Waly al-Khalidi (1917–1961), a prominent Acehnese ulama who played a crucial role in shaping Islamic education, Sufi practices, and ulama politics of religious authority in Aceh. Muda Waly was instrumental in advancing the Ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah (Aswaja) theological tradition and propagating the Naqshbandiyya Khalidiyya tariqa.Naqshbandiyah Khalidiyah tariqa. He founded the Darussalam Islamic boarding school (pesantren) in Labuhanhaji, which became a significant center for Islamic learning in Aceh. His efforts also extended into politics through his involvement with Persatuan Tarbiyah Islamiyah (PERTI), a traditionalist Islamic organization countering modernist influences. Using Foucault’s genealogy approach, this study examines the intellectual and religious formation of Muda Waly, tracing his educational lineage in Sumatra and Mecca, his engagement in theological debates, and his role in shaping Aceh’s religious landscape.  I argue that the legacy of Muda Waly al-Khalidi represents an intricate process of knowledge formation and power relations in Aceh’s religious landscape. His establishment of pesantren, propagation of the Naqshbandiyya Khalidiyya Sufi order, and resistance to modernist movements illustrate the genealogical development of religious authority. His contributions demonstrate how religious authoritytraditions are continuously reshaped through negotiation, appropriation, and resistance. Future studies could further explore how his epistemic legacy continues to evolve in response to emerging theological and political contestations in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the social changes that occur among Biology Education students of Abulyatama University class of 2023 due to the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The study uses a case study approach with a questionnaire instrument to explore students' experiences and perceptions. The results show that 100% of participants have used AI, especially for academic purposes such as searching for references and making presentations and paper assignments. The most widely used AI are ChatGPT, Perplexity AI, Cici AI, Meta AI, Google Gemini, Google Assistant and Blackbox AI. Students benefit from the use of AI including increased productivity in terms of time and number of tasks completed but are also aware of negative impacts such as reduced social interaction and greater dependence on technology. Ethical issues also arise, highlighting the importance of critical thinking and responsible use of AI.

Abstract

Ineffective teaching is one of the factors influencing the low level of students' critical thinking skills. Rooted in local wisdom, ethno-PjBL integrates project-based learning principles with ethnopedagogical values, requiring students to think critically. This research aims to determine the impact of the ethno-PjBL on students' critical thinking skills in addressing real-life environmental issues. This research uses a quasi-experimental method and a pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design. Up to 100 of the 353 tenth-grade students at one of the upper secondary schools in Banda Aceh were selected using purposive sampling techniques. This research used 17 multiple choice with written justification tests, developed based on Ennis’s critical thinking indicators. An independent sample t-test was used to assess the intervention effect and n-gain was used to measure the score improvement. Data were analyzed using an independent sample t-test to assess the intervention effect and n-gain to calculate score improvement. The findings prove a significant effect (0.010 < 0.05) and a higher n-gain in the experimental group (0.46) compared with the control group (0.25), indicating that the ethno-PjBL effectively fosters students' critical thinking skills. Integrating indigenous knowledge in project-based learning should be encouraged to nurture students’ critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate how members of disadvantaged communities imagine "other lives," and how such perceptions influence their own lives. This study will explore how society defines things that are unseen but are believed to exist and may impact human existence by having a look at the overseas Javanese population in the Gayo highlands in Aceh. The findings of this study will be used to illustrate how society views these creatures. This study, in contrast to the majority of other studies of overseas Javanese, is interested in how the construction efforts of danyang and prewangan are and how they communicate with each other. Other studies of overseas Javanese focus on topics such as cultural assimilation, conflict, and resilience. The information needed for this study was gleaned through participant observation and in-depth interviews with local Javanese residents of Aceh's Bener Meriah District. Because of the economic and cultural marginalization they face when interacting with the dominant ethnic groups of Gayo and Aceh, which persuades them to seek alternative protection, this article demonstrates that the concepts of danyang and prewangan are part of the identity that was brought from Javanese culture.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pedagogical content knowledge mahasiswa calon guru pada program studi pendidikan matematika Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Abulyatama Aceh. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain triangulasi, dimana peneliti mengumpulkan data dari beberapa sumber dan metode yang berbeda, membandingkan hasilnya dan menggunakan hasil temuan untuk melihat apakah saling memvalidasi satu sama lainnya. Data tentang pedagogical content knowledge mahasiswa calon guru kemudian dipaparkan apa adanya sehingga jenis penelitian ini dikategorikan dengan penelitian deskriptif-kualitatif dengan desain triangulasi. Adapun subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 3 (tiga) orang mahasiswa program studi pendidikan matematika FKIP Universitas Abulyatama yang telah menyelesaikan matakuliah micro teaching atau sedang praktek pengalaman lapangan. Berdasarkan penelitian diketahui bahwa content knowledge mahasiswa calon guru program studi pendidikan Matematika FKIP Universitas Abulyatama berada pada kategori rendah sampai sedang dengan skor 1 sampai dengan 2. Sementara itu, pedagogical knowledge mahasiswa calon guru program studi pendidikan matematika FKIP Universitas Abulyatama berada pada kategori rendah sampai sedang dengan skor 1 sampai dengan 2. This study aimed to determine the pedagogical content knowledge of prospective students in the mathematics education program Faculty of Teacher Training and Education University Abulyatama Aceh. This study used a qualitative approach with a triangulation design, in which the researchers collected data from several different sources and methods, compared the results, and used the findings to see if mutually validated each other. Data about pedagogical content knowledge of prospective teacher students were then presented as it is so that this type of research was categorized by descriptive-qualitative research with triangulation design. The subjects in this study were 3 (three) students of the mathematics education program of FKIP University Abulyatama who had completed micro-teaching courses or were practicing field experience. Based on the research, it is known that the content knowledge of the prospective teachers of the study program of Mathematics Education of FKIP Universitas Abulyatama was in the low to moderate category with a score of 1 to 2. Meanwhile, the pedagogical knowledge of the candidate of the teacher of the mathematics education program of FKIP Universitas Abulyatama was in the low to moderate category with a score of 1 to 2.

Abstract

Tidak sedikit anak-anak pekerja migran Indonesia di Malaysia tidak bisa bersekolah di lembaga pendidikan formal, dengan berbagai masalah dan penyebabnya. Sehingga anak-anak migran memilih lembaga pendidikan non formal untuk dapat memperoleh pendidikan. Salah lembaga pendidikan non formal yang membantu proses pembelajaran bagi anak-anak migran di Malaysia, khususnya di Kuala Lumpur adalah salah satunya Sanggar bimbingan Hulu Kelang. Pengabdian ini bertujuan melakukan pendampingan dan membantu stimulasi literasi melalui strategi membaca bebas terbimbing (MBT) pada anak-anak migran. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan memberikan pendampingan, menyusun kegiatan belajar dan mengajar serta menerapkan strategi membaca bebas terbimbing. Adapun lokasi Sanggar bimbingan Hulu Kelang jalan Changkat Permata No 2757 Tingkat 3, 53100 Kuala Lumpur, letak sanggar ini berada di lantai 3 sebuah kawasan pertokoan. Program yang dirancang dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini berjalan dengan lancar, strategi MBT dilaksanakan dengan sembilan tahapan mulai dari persiapan, pengantar, pemilihan bacaan, waktu membaca, monitoring, diskusi, refleksi tertulis, presensi dan berbagi serta evaluasi.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Jumlah Pekerja Migran Indonesia (PMI) Indonesia terus mengalami peningkatan seiiring dengan sehatnya kondisi perekonomian Malaysia. Beberapa alasan warga Indonesia memilih migrasi ke Malaysia untuk bekerja adalah (1) kurangnya peluang pekerjaan di daerah asal; (2) ingin memperoleh pendapatan yang lebih tinggi di Malaysia; (3) berkeinginan untuk memiliki aset dan investasi jangka panjang; (4) ajakan oleh keluarga dan orang-orang yang dikenal telah sukses di Malaysia. Semua alasan tersebut telah menguatkan tekat para PMI untuk migrasi ke Malaysia, meskipun harus membawa anak-anak untuk menetap di Malaysia padahal mereka tidak mendapatkan izin tinggal secara legal. Dampak bagi anak-anak yang tidak memiliki izin tinggal adalah akses pendidikan menjadi salah satu kendala. Banyak anak-anak PMI yang tidak dapat bersekolah di lembaga pendidikan formal, harus memilih lembaga pendidikan non formal untuk memperoleh akses pendidikan. Salah lembaga pendidikan non formal yang membantu proses pendidikan anak-anak PMI di Malaysia, khususnya di Kuala Lumpur adalah Sanggar Belajar Al-Amin Segambut. Pengabdian ini bertujuan antara lain; (1) memberi gambaran lokasi dan keadaan sanggar belajar Al- Amin Segambut. (2) Kondisi belajar anak-anak PMI pada sanggar belajar Al- Amin Segambut dan (3) Masalah yang dihadapi oleh anak-anak PMI di sanggar Al-Amin Segambut agar mampu membaca, menulis dan berhitung (CALISTUNG) dengan baik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Adapun lokasi Sanggar Belajar Al-Amin Segambut Jalan 1/38A, Segambut Bahagia, Segambut, 51200, Kuala Lumpur, letak sanggar ini berada di lantai 3 sebuah kawasan pertokoan. Kondisi sanggar belajar Al- Amin Segambut tidak seperti lembaga pendidikan pada umumnya. Sanggar Belajar Al- Amin Segambut belum memiliki fasilitas layaknya sebuah lembaga pendidikan, seperti belum memiliki meja, kursi, buku paket serta baju seragam. Masalah lainnya juga masih banyak dihadapi oleh sanggar belajar ini antara lain; belum adanya tenaga pengajar yang tetap, buku kurikulum serta jadwal belajar masih belum tersusun dengan tertib layaknya sebuah lembaga pendidikan. Sehingga pembagian anak-anak sesuai usia belajarnya belum dapat dilakukan karena tidak adanya tenaga pengajar yang tetap dan ditambah lagi ruang belajar yang belum memadai. Kata Kunci: Membaca, Menulis, Berhitung, Siswa, Migran  ABSTRACT The number of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) continues to increase in line with the healthy economic condition of Malaysia. Some of the reasons Indonesians choose to migrate to Malaysia for work are (1) lack of job opportunities in their home regions; (2) wish to earn a higher income in Malaysia; (3) desire to own long-term assets and investments; (4) solicitations by family and people known to have been successful in Malaysia. All these reasons have strengthened the determination of migrant workers to migrate to Malaysia, even though they have to bring children to settle in Malaysia even though they do not get legal residence permits. The impact for children who do not have a residence permit is that access to education is one of the obstacles. Many Indonesian migrant workers who cannot attend formal education institutions must choose non-formal educational institutions to gain access to education. One of the non-formal educational institutions that helps the education process of Indonesian migrant workers in Malaysia, especially in Kuala Lumpur is Sanggar Belajar Al-Amin Segambut. This devotion aims to, among others; (1) describe the location and condition of the Al-Amin Segambut learning center. (2) Learning conditions of PMI children in Al-Amin Segambut learning studio and (3) Problems faced by PMI children in Al-Amin Segambut studio to be able to read, write and count (CALISTUNG) well. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. As for the location of Sanggar Belajar Al-Amin Segambut Jalan 1/38A, Segambut Bahagia, Segambut, 51200, Kuala Lumpur, the location of this studio is on the 3rd floor of a shopping area. The condition of Al-Amin Segambut learning center is not like educational institutions in general. Sanggar Belajar Al-Amin Segambut does not yet have facilities like an educational institution, such as not having tables, chairs, package books and uniforms. Other problems are also still faced by this learning studio, including; There is no permanent teaching staff, curriculum books and learning schedules are still not arranged in an orderly manner like an educational institution. So that the distribution of children according to their learning age cannot be done because there is no permanent teaching staff and added to the inadequate learning space. Keywords: Reading, Writing, Numeracy, Students, Migrants

Abstract

The 21st-century learning has undergone a paradigm shift in education from teacher-centered to student-centered. It recently emphasises students' critical and creative thinking abilities, effective communication, innovation, problem-solving, and collaboration. This study examined the Ricosre model's effectiveness with the Question Formulation Technique (QFT) in enhancing students' higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) and science literacy. It involved 296 fifth-grade students from three selected state elementary schools, chosen through cluster random sampling. Each group consisted of 148 students divided into control and experimental groups. Data were collected through multiple-choice and essay instruments and subsequently analysed using multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA). The research variables were students' higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) and science literacy. The results indicated that the Ricosre model with QFT effectively improves students' higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) and science literacy, as it encouraged active participation during the learning process, trained students to develop questioning skills, find answers, analyse, share ideas, and draw conclusions. Thus, it can foster curiosity and metacognitive abilities among students.

Abstract

This research aims to examine ethnoscience in biology learning on the reproductive system. The research method is a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental type of research with pre-test and post-test applied and grouped into three categories of high, medium and low. The research was carried out at the Darussalam State Madrasah Aliyah Aceh Besar Regency, Aceh. The research results show that there has been an increase in students' understanding and abilities which can be seen from the increase in post-test results. Ethnoscience on the reproductive system can be studied from a series of cultural practices from the process of pregnancy to birth. Students can connect scientific science with real science in their environment. Students can also appreciate and preserve local community knowledge related to reproductive system material. So it can be concluded that ethnoscience learning can enrich students' experiences by introducing local wisdom and cultural diversity that exists in society.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh lingkungan kerja dan disiplin kerja terhadap kinerja pegawai Non PNS RSUD Budhi Asih. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian lapangan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan unit analisis pegawai Non PNS RSUD Budhi Asih, dengan sampel sebanyak 100 orang. Metode sampling yang digunakan adalah non-probability sampling dengan teknik accidental sampling diperoleh responden sebanyak 100 responden, dengan teknik pengumpulan data adalah kuesioner. Metode pengolahan data menggunakan analisis regresi linear berganda menggunakan spss versi 26. Dari penelitian ini diperoleh hasil bahwa Lingkungan kerja dan disiplin kerja berpengaruh terhadap kinerja pegawai non pns RSUD Budhi Asih baik secara parsial maupun secara simultan. Kata Kunci: Lingkungan Kerja, Disiplin Kerja, dan Kinerja Pegawai
