Abstract

Gender equality is a global issue that continues to face challenges in its implementation across countries. School learning plays a strategic role in instilling the values of justice and equality from an early age. One such approach is through the subject of Social Studies. This article aims to examine how strengthening Social Studies learning through the integration of a global perspective on gender equality makes learning more relevant, contextual, and better able to foster critical awareness in students. This research uses a literature review. Data were obtained from various literature sources, including national and international journal articles and books related to Social Studies learning themes, gender equality, and global perspectives. Data analysis was conducted descriptively and analytically by mapping the relationship between ten main Social Studies themes and gender equality issues in a global context. The results of the study indicate that gender equality can be integrated comprehensively into Social Studies subject themes, such as culture, history, environment, individual identity, social relations, power, economics, technology, global connections, and citizenship. The integration of a global perspective into Social Studies learning helps students understand gender equality as a cross-border, cross-cultural social issue. Thus, Social Studies learning plays a vital role in fostering inclusive, just, and responsible attitudes among global citizens.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to apply the use of an automatic PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) detection system prototype in supporting the Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) efforts of PT. Pelindo Terminal Peti Kemas Makassar also known as TPK Makassar to improve the effectiveness of supervision and reduce the risk of workplace accidents. Workplace accidents can be caused by various factors, ranging from worker negligence in not using PPE, lack of discipline, and carelessness. Safety and health are top priorities for workers and companies. Field testing results show that the system can consistently distinguish between workers who comply with and those who violate PPE usage rules, and send automatic alerts when violations occur. The YOLOv8-based detection model shows fairly good performance with a precision value of 0.7–0.9, recall of 0.5–0.6, and mAP50 reaching 0.7–0.8, which indicates that the system is capable of recognizing main objects with high accuracy.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the Role of Accounting in the Financial Management of Village Fund Allocation in Tiwu Riwung, Mbeliling District. This study uses a qualitative method with in-depth interviews with related parties in Tiwu Riwung Village and direct observation of the accounting system. The results of the study indicate that the Village Fund Allocation Financial Accounting System used is by using the Microsoft Excel program in the form of a General Cash Book and a Subsidiary Cash Book for Receipts and a Subsidiary Cash Book for Expenditures. Meanwhile, the Financial Management of Village Fund Allocation in Tiwu Riwung Village is quite good and the realization is because it has been arranged according to the Budget Plan (RAB). Where one of the sources of Village Income is obtained from the Village Fund Allocation which is used for fixed income and allowances for village officials, office operations, consumables, printing and procurement, food and drinks during meetings, BPD allowances, village administration and information development systems.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of the Make a Match learning model in improving students’ learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education (PAI). The research employed a quantitative approach using Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted in two cycles. The subjects of the study were 20 students of class VIII.3 at SMP Negeri 3 Duampanua. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. The results indicated that the implementation of the Make a Match model significantly improved student learning outcomes. In the pre-cycle, the students’ average score was 70 (poor) with a mastery percentage of 35%. This increased to 77 (fair) with a 55% mastery percentage in the first cycle, and 85 (good) with an 80% mastery rate in the second cycle. This improvement demonstrates that the implementation of Make a Match learning model is effective in creating an active, enjoyable, and collaborative learning atmosphere, which positively impacts students' understanding of PAI material. Therefore, the Make a Match model is recommended as an alternative teaching strategy for PAI teachers to enhance student learning outcomes

Abstract

Robust regression is a regression method used to handle outliers in statistical analysis. Robust regression consists of five estimation methods, namely M-estimation (Maximum Likelihood type), LMS estimation (Least Median of Squares), LTS estimation (Least Trimmed Squares), MM estimation (Method of Moments), and S-estimation (Scale). M-estimation is known for having the smallest variance among the estimators, with high efficiency reaching up to 95%, while S-estimation is based on the residual scale of M-estimation and is characterized by a high breakdown point of up to 50%. The 2022 crime rate data in Indonesia contains outliers. According to data from the Central Statistics Agency, there was a drastic increase in crime incidents in 2022, reaching 372,965 reported cases. Therefore, a comparison of robust regression estimation methods was conducted to obtain the best model that explains the factors influencing crime rates in Indonesia. This study employs robust regression using M-estimation and S-estimation with Tukey bisquare weighting. The dependent variable in this study is the number of crimes in Indonesia in 2022, while the independent variables include population density (x₁), open unemployment rate (x₂), number of poor people (x₃), mean years of schooling/MYS (x₄), and labor force participation rate/TPAK (x₅). The results indicate that S-estimation in robust regression provides the best performance among the methods analyzed.
