Abstract

The problem presented in this research was the learning process of writing exposition text by grade VII students at SMP Negeri 1 Gedongtataan in academic year of 2013/2014. Based on the problem above, the objective of this research was to describe the learning process of writing exposition text including planning, implementation, and evaluation. Based on this research, lesson plans designed by the teachers have fulfilled the criteria of specified lesson plan. However, there are some weaknesses in formulating learning assessment. Implementation of learning that form of teacher activity in the classroom consists of preliminary activities, core activities, and closing activities. Students activities in implementation of learning writing exposition text consists of observing, questioning, associating and communicating. Assessments of students' learning outcomes done by the teacher are assessment of attitudes, knowledge, and skill.Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah proses pembelajaran menulis teks eksposisi kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Gedongtataan tahun pelajaran 2013/2014. Berdasarkan masalah tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses pembelajaran menulis teks eksposisi meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi pembelajaran. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, perencanaan pembelajaran yang dirancang oleh guru sudah memenuhi kriteria Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran yang ditentukan. Namun, masih terdapat kekurangan pada perumusan penilaian pembelajaran. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran yang berupa aktivitas guru dalam kelas terdiri atas kegiatan pendahuluan, kegiatan inti, dan kegiatan penutup. Aktivitas siswa dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran menulis teks eksposisi terdiri atas aktivitas mengamati, menanya, menalar, dan mengomunikasikan. Penilaian hasil belajar siswa yang dilakukan oleh guru ialah penilaian sikap, pengetahuan, dan keterampilan.Kata kunci: menulis, pembelajaran, teks eksposisi.

Abstract

The problem in this research was the ability of writing poetry of the students. The objective of this research was to describe the ability of writing poetry of the students class X of SMA Negri 1 Bandar Sribowono Lampung Timur academic year of 2011/2012.The method that used in this research was descriptive method. The population in this research was the students class X of SMA Negri 1 Bandar Sribawono Lampung Timur academic year of 2011/2012 that consists of 278 students and laid in nine classes. The sample was taken by using proportional cluster random sampling technique. Each class was taken 10% to be the sample then got 27 students as the sample. The primary technique that was used to collect the data was test of writing poetry by themes; sociality, patriotism, social critic, and togetherness. The reason of the researcher decided four themes was to gather the students in writing poetry.The result of the research showed that the average of students’ ability in writing poetry was good “enough” that was, gaining the percentage in average 67.62%. the average of ability in each aspect was (1) expressing the themes was categorized good “enough” by average score 71.48%, (3) choosing the dictions was categorized  good “enough”  by average score 65.55%, (4) expressing imagination  was categorized good “enough” by average score 65.18%, (5) the using of figure of a speech was less “weak” by average score 61.85%.The average scores showed that the highest skill that reached by the students class X in writing poetry that was on the aspect of explicit message, whereas in the low ability that reached by the students was on the using the figure of speech. Thereby, it can be concluded that that the level of students’ ability in writing poetry is categorized good “enough”. Key words: the ability of writing poetry of the students class X of SMA Negri 1 Bandar Sribawono Lampung Timur.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the structure of a deductive paragraph that is parallel in pattern, the structure of a deductive paragraph that has a chain pattern and the structure of a deductive paragraph that has a combination pattern in Indonesian textbooks for knowledge of SMP/MTs students of class VIII Bandar Lampung Published by the Ministry of Education and Culture. The method used is qualitative descriptive method. The data source used is 98 paragraphs in Indonesian textbooks.  Based on the results of the study note that the results showed that the use of parallel deductive paragraph structure variations amounted to 40 uses, the structure of serial deductive paragraph structure amounted to 30 uses, deductive paragraph structure variations in combination of 25 uses, deductive paragraph structure variations of two total use and results based findings, structure of new deducible paragraphs consisting of topic sentences and only have one direct developer sentence, totaling 1 usage.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan struktur paragraf deduktif yang berpola sejajar, struktur paragraf deduktif yang berpola berantai dan struktur paragraf deduktif yang berpola kombinasi dalam buku teks bahasa Indonesia wahana pengetahuan siswa SMP/MTs kelas VIII Bandar Lampung Terbitan Kemendikbud. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan variasi struktur paragraf deduktif sejajar berjumlah 40 penggunaan, variasi struktur paragraf deduktif berantai berjumlah 30 penggunaan, variasi struktur paragraf deduktif kombinasi satu berjumlah 25 penggunaan, variasi struktur paragraf deduktif kombinasi dua berjumlah 2 penggunaan dan berdasarkan hasil temuan, struktur paragraf dedukdif baru yang terdiri atas kalimat topik dan hanya memiliki satu kalimat pengembang langsung, yang berjumlah 1 penggunaan.Kata kunci: deduktif, paragraf, struktur

Abstract

The problem in this research is how the values of the characters in the short story collection Selembut Angin Setajam Ranting by Isbedy Stiawan Zs. and the implications for teaching literature in high school. This research aims describe value of values character in a collection of short story those and its implications on the learning literary in Senior High School. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The research data described by the actual reality, in the form of writing and then analyzed and interpreted objectively. The data source is a collection of short stories Selembut Angin Setajam Ranting. Data analysis techniques using the model flow. Results of this research showed that the character values contained in those collection of short stories is religious, honest, tolerance, discipline, hard work, creativity, curiosity, love of country, friendship/communicative, love peace, love reading, environmental care, social care, and responsibility. Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimanakah nilai-nilai karakter pada kumpulan cerpen Selembut Angin Setajam Ranting karya Isbedy Stiawan Zs. dan implikasinya pada pembelajaran sastra di SMA. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai karakter dalam kumpulan cerpen tersebut dan implikasinya pada pembelajaran sastra di SMA. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian dideskripsikan berdasarkan kenyataan sebenarnya berupa tulisan kemudian dianalisis dan ditafsirkan sesuai tujuan penelitian. Sumber data adalah  kumpulan cerpen Selembut Angin Setajam Ranting karya Isbedy Stiawan Zs. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model alir, yakni dimulai dengan reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan/verivikasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai-nilai karakter yang terdapat pada kumpulan cerpen tersebut, yakni religius, jujur, toleransi, disiplin, kerja keras, kreatif, rasa ingin tahu, cinta tanah air, bersahabat/ komunikatif, cinta damai, gemar membaca, peduli lingkungan, peduli sosial, dan tanggung jawab.Kata kunci: cerpen, karakter, nilai-nilai, pembelajaran.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe an implikatur on public transport as well as the implications for learning Indonesian Language in Senior High School. This study uses qualitative methods. The results showed that the expression on public transportations declared a purpose using the language style of the epithets and metaphors. This is due to the phrase tacked to engage, inform, or remind something. Expressions are written by using a reference to a trait or characteristic to describe and express a certain thing. Generally, writing expressions using non standard language that in order to make the reader interest sotry to analyze the meaning of the phrase. Research results can be implied in the Indonesian Language learning at Senior High School on anecdotes text material.Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan implikatur pada badan angkutan umum serta implikasinya terhadap pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di SMA. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ungkapan pada badan angkutan umum lebih banyak berfungsi untuk menyatakan suatu tujuan dengan menggunakan gaya bahasa epitet dan metafora. Hal ini disebabkan ungkapan yang ditempel digunakan untuk mengajak, menginformasi, atau mengingatkan sesuatu hal. Ungkapan ditulis dengan menggunakan suatu acuan terhadap sifat atau ciri yang menggambarkan dan mengungkapkan hal tertentu. Umumnya, penulisan ungkapan menggunakan bahasa yang tidak baku dengan tujuan agar ungkapan menjadi menarik untuk dibaca sehingga pembaca berusaha untuk menganalisis maksud dari ungkapan tersebut. Hasil penelitian dapat diimplikasikan pada pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di SMA pada materi teks anekdot.Kata kunci : jenis implikatur, fungsi implikatur, gaya bahasa, ungkapan.

Abstract

The problem discussed in this research is how the students reading comprehension through PQRST technique. This research is aimed describe the students’ reading comprehension throught PQRST technique. The researcher uses descriptive method. The population is the XI class which consists of 156 students’ distributed is 5 classes. The sample is 25% of the total students’ of each class, so the total of the sample is 40 students. Data collecting technique is done by objective test technique. Based on the result, the students’ reading comprehension through PQRST technique is categorized as quite enough with the mean. The students’ reading comprehension through PQRST technique in the aspect of literal is categorized as quite enough with the mean score is 69. In the aspect of interpretative is categorized as quite enough with the mean score is 68, in the aspect of critic/creative is categorized as quite enough with the mean score is 68.Masalah yang dibahas dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimanakah kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa melalui teknik PQRST. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa melalui teknik PQRST. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI yang berjumlah 156 siswa yang tersebar dalam 5 kelas. Sampel yang diambil dalam penelitian ini 25% dari jumlah siswa setiap kelas, sehingga jumlah sampelnya 40 siswa. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan teknik tes objektif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa melalui teknik PQRST Kelas XI SMA Negeri I Labuhan Ratu Tahun Pelajaran 2012/2013 tergolong cukup dengan nilai rata-rata 68. Kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa melalui teknik PQRST pada aspek literal tergolong cukup dengan nilai rata-rata 69. Pada aspek interpretatif tergolong cukup dengan nilai rata-rata 68 dan pada aspek kritis/kreatif tergolong cukup dengan nilai rata-rata 68.Kata kunci: kemampuan, membaca, pemahaman, teknik PQRST

Abstract

This research describes the characters in the novel entitled Bulan Terbelah di Langit Amerika by Hanum Salsabiela Rais dan Rangga Almahendra and its appropriateness as a learning material for Senior High School. This research is aimed at describing the characteristics of the characters, characters technique drawing, and kinds of characters in that novel and its appropriateness as a learning material of Senior High School. The method used is descriptive qualitative method. The source of this research is the part of the text in that novel. The results of this research are the characteristics of the characters, characters technique drawing, and kinds of characters in that novel, and its appropriateness as a learning material for Senior High School based on language, psychology, and culture background aspect.Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan penokohan dalam novel Bulan Terbelah di Langit Amerika karya Hanum Salsabiela Rais dan Rangga Almahendra dan kelayakannya sebagai bahan ajar di SMA. Tujuan dari penelitian ini mendeskripsikan watak tokoh, teknik pelukisan tokoh, dan jenis-jenis tokoh yang terdapat pada novel Bulan Terbelah di Langit Amerika dan kelayakannya sebagai bahan ajar di SMA. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah bagian teks novel Bulan Terbelah di Langit Amerika. Hasil penelitian ini berupa penokohan yaitu watak tokoh, teknik pelukisan tokoh, dan jenis-jenis tokoh yang terdapat dalam novel Bulan Terbelah di Langit Amerika dan kelayakan kumpulan novel Bulan Terbelah di Langit Amerika sebagai bahan ajar di SMA berdasarkan aspek bahasa, psikologi, dan latar belakang budaya.Kata kunci: kelayakan, novel, tokoh.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to describe the presentation of the text book entitled Mahir Berbahasa Indonesia SMP/MTs Kelas VII SMP/MTs Curriculum 2013 published by Erlangga based on the feasibility of the book which consists of the presentation teqnique, learning presentation, and completeness of presentation. Method used in this research was method of qualitative descriptive. The source of research was the text book entitled Mahir Berbahasa Indonesia SMP/MTs Kelas VII SMP/MTs Curriculum 2013 Published Erlangga that was arranged by educative team Wahono, M.Pd., Drs. Makhrufi, M.Pd., and Sawali, M.Pd. Based on the description of presentation feasibility of the text book entitled Mahir Berbahasa Indonesia SMP/MTs Kelas VII SMP/MTs Curriculum 2013 Published by Erlangga has been suitable to the presentation of Curriculum 2013 text book published by BSNP.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan penyajian dalam buku teks Mahir Berbahasa Indonesia SMP/MTs Kelas VII Kurikulum 2013 terbitan Erlangga berdasarkan kelayakan penyajian yang meliputi teknik penyajian, kelengkapan penyajian dan kelengkapan penyajian. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah buku teks Mahir Berbahasa Indonesia SMP/MTs Kelas VII kurikulum 2013 terbitan Erlangga yang disusun oleh tim edukatif Wahono, M.Pd., Drs. Makhrufi, M.Pd., dan Sawali, M.Pd. Berdasarkan deskripsi kelayakan penyajian buku teks Mahir Berbahasa Mahir Berbahasa Indonesia SMP/MTs Kelas VII kurikulum 2013 terbitan Erlangga sudah merepresentasikan penyajian buku teks Kurikulum 2013 sesuai dengan pedoman uji kelayakan penyajian buku teks yang dikeluarkan oleh BSNP.Kata kunci: buku teks, kelayakan penyajian, kurikulum 2013.

Abstract

The problem under study is about how the patterns of abbreviations and acronyms that exist in the Kompas Daily Newspaper edition in January 2013 and their implications for teaching materials on junior high school. This study aimed to describe the patterns of abbreviations and acronyms in the Kompas Daily Newspaper edition in January 2013. The method used is descriptive qualitative method. After doing research, the dominant pattern of abbreviations found in the Kompas Daily Newspapers The first pattern is the perpetuation of the first letter of each component. While the acronym patterns are often found in the Kompas Daily Newspapers The fourth pattern is the perpetuation of the first letter of each component. Learning about the implications of abbreviations and acronyms contained in the Standar Kompetensi (SK) and the Kompetensi Dasar (KD) of the syllabus writing skills especially in dealing with spelling accuracy. Abbreviations and acronyms can be used as learning materials and assessment indicators, while the daily newspaper can be used as a medium of learning.Keywords: abbreviations, acronyms, newspaper

Abstract

The research problem is the news text writing ability base on school area observation of the grade eight students at SMPN 21 Bandarlampung in 2012/2013. The objective is to describe news text writing ability base on school area observation. Descriptive method is used in this research. The population number consist of 307 students that distributed in 8 classes. The sample of this research is 15% taken from number of population, hence 48 students are selected randomly as sample. The writer asked students to write news text base on their own observation of the rules that are determined by the writer in 90 minutes.  According to result, it is know that the news text writing ability base on school area observation of the grade eight at SMPN 21 Bandarlampung in 2012/2013 is categorized enough with average score of 70,95.Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah kemampuan menulis teks berita berdasarkan pengamatan pada lingkungan sekolah siswa kelas VIII SMPN 21 Bandarlampung 2012/2013. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan menulis teks berita berdasarkan pengamatan pada lingkungan sekolah. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif. Populasi berjumlah 307 siswa yang tersebar dalam 8 kelas. Sampel yang diambil dalam penelitian ini adalah 15% dari jumlah populasi sehingga sampelnya berjumlah 48 siswa. Siswa ditugaskan menulis teks berita berdasarkan pengamatan mereka sendiri dengan memperhatikan ketentuan yang telah ditentukan oleh penulis dalam waktu 90 menit. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diketahui bahwa kemampuan menulis teks berita berdasarkan pengamatan pada lingkungan sekolah siswa kelas VIII SMPN 21 Bandarlampung 2012/2013 tergolong dalam kategori cukup dengan nilai rata-rata 70,95.Kata kunci: kemampuan, menulis, teks berita
