Abstract

The objective of this study is to ascertain the impact of the six elements of good corporate governance on the financial performance of state-owned enterprises (SOEs), with risk management acting as a moderating variable. This study employs annual reports on state-owned enterprises (SOEs) listed in Appendix II of the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Regulation Number PER/MBU/03/2021. The sampling technique employed was purposive sampling, with a research sample comprising 57 SOEs selected from all SOEs for the 2018-2022 period. The data were analyzed using panel data regression analysis with the STATA 17. The results indicated that the Shareholder Aspect had a positive and significant effect on the financial performance of SOEs. In contrast, the aspects of Commitment to Sustainable GCG Implementation, Board of Commissioners, Board of Directors, Disclosure and Transparency of Information, and other factors had no significant effect on the financial performance of SOEs. The findings indicate that risk management exerts a positive and significant influence on the relationship between the Board of Directors aspect and the financial performance of SOEs. Conversely, risk management exerts a negative and insignificant influence on the relationship between the Commitment to Sustainable GCG Implementation aspect, the Board of Commissioners, disclosure and transparency of information, and other factors and the financial performance of SOEs.

Abstract

Financial literacy has emerged as a critical aspect of economic empowerment, yet significant disparities persist between countries. According to the 2019 Household, Income and Labour Dynamics in Australia (HILDA) survey, Australia boasts a financial literacy rate of 64%, while Indonesia lags behind at only 38% (Australia Indonesia Youth Association, 2020). Recognizing this gap, this initiative aims to address the financial literacy needs of Indonesian migrant workers through targeted training programs. Drawing on data from the 2022 National Survey on Financial Literacy and Financial Inclusion (Survei Nasional Literasi dan Inklusi Keuangan/SNLIK), which showed an increase to 49.68% in Indonesia (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan, 2022), our community outreach initiative focuses on raising awareness and providing practical knowledge on entrepreneurship among migrant workers. By offering workshops on International Community Outreach with the theme "Raising Entrepreneurial Success Among Indonesian Migrant Workers," this activity aims to equip participants with the skills and inspiration to start their businesses upon returning to Indonesia. Through training sessions on budget management and entrepreneurship, we strive to empower migrant workers to achieve financial independence and contribute to their personal economic well-being. This initiative embodies our commitment to fostering self-sufficiency and economic resilience among Indonesian migrant workers.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the financial literacy and investment awareness of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) in Tainan, Taiwan. Many PMIs face financial challenges after returning home due to limited financial knowledge and lack of long-term savings strategies. The program conducted by the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, implemented structured activities including socialization, digital financial literacy training, financial planning workshops, and basic investment training. The training introduced digital tools such as the Livin’ by Mandiri application to encourage systematic saving and responsible investment behavior. Evaluation results from 15 participants showed an average post-training score of 60.57, indicating improved understanding and application of financial management concepts. The program not only strengthened participants’ financial capabilities but also fostered independence, self-confidence, and solidarity among PMIs. These outcomes contribute to achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 1 (No Poverty) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), promoting sustainable financial well-being for migrant workers abroad.
