Abstract

This research aims to produce STEM-based particle motion dynamics e-modules in the context of local wisdom to train students' creative thinking skills. This research uses the 4D development model, namely the defining, planning, developing, and disseminating stages. This research involved 9 experts and 10 students in the limited trial stage and 20 students in the wider trial stage. The effectiveness test in this study involved 46 students of class XI from SMAN 2 Palembang. Creative thinking skills were measured using a creative thinking skills test which was then analyzed using the normalized N-Gain formula. The results of the expert appraisal validation showed that the content aspect scored 81% with very valid criteria, the media design aspect scored 74%, and the language aspect reached 76%, both of which were declared valid. At the broad trial stage, all aspects showed very practical results, with details of the ease of use aspect obtaining a percentage of 98%, the appearance and design aspects reached 95%, and the material presentation and benefit aspects each obtained a percentage of 96%. The effectiveness test showed that the average pretest and posttest scores were 27.96 and 79.45, with an overall N-Gain value of the creative thinking skills indicator of 0.7, which is in the high category. The results of this study conclude that the STEM-based particle motion dynamics e-module in the context of Palembang local wisdom has been successfully developed and proven to have good validity, practicality, and effectiveness in training students' creative thinking skills, so it is feasible to use in physics learning in high schools.       Keywords: e-modules, physics, STEM, local wisdom, validity, practicality.

Abstract

This study aims to identify students' creative thinking skills and concept mastery in the context of temperature and heat material at SMA Negeri 2 Palembang and to explore the relationship between these two variables. A quantitative descriptive research design was employed, involving 60 students from class XI. Data was collected using the PhysCreTHOTS test, which assesses creative thinking and concept mastery. The results showed that students' creative thinking skills averaged 48.3%, falling within the "sufficient" criteria. Specifically, scores for fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration were 55%, 44.9%, 44.8%, and 46.7%, respectively, all within the "sufficient" range. Concept mastery scores were 50.2% for C4, 51.9% for C5, and 46.4% for C6, indicating "moderate" criteria. A significant positive correlation (r = 0.512, p < 0.01) was found between creative thinking skills and concept mastery. The findings indicate that while students exhibit moderate levels of creative thinking and concept mastery, there is a significant relationship between these skills. This underscores the importance of fostering creative thinking to enhance conceptual mastery in physics education, especially in the context of temperature and heat materials.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the need for learning videos on the rotation event material to train the problem-solving skills of grade VI elementary school students. The background of this study is based on the many students who have difficulty in understanding the material on the rotation of the earth and the results of observation data conducted by researchers indicate that the learning process is still centered on textbooks and oral explanations from teachers without the help of contextual and interesting learning media. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach and a needs analysis questionnaire. The subjects of the study consisted of teachers and grade VI students at SDN Rantau Pangeran. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and distribution of needs analysis questionnaires. The results of the analysis show that students need learning media that are interesting, easy to access, and can improve students' ability to solve problems. The selection of video-based learning media is considered to be able to increase students' motivation and ability to solve problems, especially on the material on the rotation of the earth. The results of the study showed that generally students (80.75%) still do not understand the material related to the rotation of the earth and show low problem-solving skills. 73.50% of students are interested in video-based learning media because they are more interesting, concise, easy to access, and easy to understand. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the development of learning videos on the material of the earth's rotation to improve students' problem-solving skills is seen as the right solution. The research data is expected to be useful as basic data in the development of learning videos on the material of rotation events in grade VI of elementary school.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the creative thinking ability of MTs students in South OKU Regency on renewable energy material. The research sample totalled 109 ninth grade students from four MTs selected by purposive sampling. The research instrument was in the form of multiple choice questions based on TTCT (Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking) indicators consisting of fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. The results showed that the average score in the range of 100 students' creative thinking ability was 41.56. The average score of each indicator is: fluency (60.54), elaboration (45.77), flexibility (32.03), and originality (22.52). The highest average score is on the fluency indicator and the lowest score is on the originality indicator. This shows that students do not have difficulty in generating many ideas, but still have difficulty in generating unique and innovative ideas. The results of this study provide a factual picture of the condition of the creative thinking skills of MTs.

Abstract

This training aims to train literacy and numeracy through making STEM-based learning media on renewable energy material. In addition, teachers are expected to be able to provide innovation in media making, which can be implemented in science learning. The method used in this activity is Participatory Action Research (PAR). Several steps are taken to achieve the set goals, namely 1) giving a pretest or initial test, 2) implementing the service, and 3) giving a final test and evaluation and reflection. This activity was attended by 30 participants who were science teachers and members of the Science MGMP. The results showed that the percentage for the pretest score with 30 participants obtained an average of 47.6%, and the posttest score obtained an average of 93.20%, for a Gain score of 87%. This value represents the interpretation of the practical improvement category. Based on the results of the questionnaire on the level of satisfaction with the implementation of the service, it can be indicated that all teachers feel delighted with the training assistance service activities. This training activity has provided practical solutions to facing the challenges of 21st-century learning, especially in areas with limited facilities.
