Abstract

The research aims to identify the learning motivation and learning outcomes of SMPN 7 Padang students in terms of vibration, wave, and light materials. The research was conducted after the learning occurred. The subjects in this study were 128 students from 4 classes, namely classes VIII.1, VIII.2, VIII.3, and VIII.8. To determine students' learning motivation, researchers distributed questionnaires using a Likert scale, while student learning outcomes were taken from daily assessments at the end of the chapter on vibrations, waves, and light. The results obtained from this research are student learning motivation is classified as moderate, and the category of student learning outcomes is also classified as moderate. Indicators of student learning motivation are (1) the desire and desire to succeed in learning, (2) the existence of encouragement and needs in learning, (3) the existence of hopes and ideals for the future, (4) the existence of interesting activities in learning and (5) the existence of a conducive learning environment while learning outcomes were calculated using the completeness criteria for science lessons on vibration and wave material. Based on the research results conducted at SMPN 7 Padang, the most influential indicator is interesting learning activities. Teachers can increase student learning motivation from moderate to high if they carry out interesting activities. Students with high learning motivation have a greater chance of obtaining better learning outcomes than those with low motivation.

Abstract

Writing and publishing a scientific article is essential for teachers. These activities are part of the success indicators of teacher professional development and are included in the prerequisites for promotion. This research aims to determine the effect of the 4-phase scientific article writing training model on improving physics teachers' scientific article writing skills in South Sumatra. This type of research is a quasi-experiment using the pretest-posttest method. The population of this study was 35 physics teachers. The data analysis technique uses quantitative data collected from physics teachers' scientific article writing skill achievement scores. The research results show that applying the 4-phase scientific article training model can effectively improve teachers' skills in writing scientific articles to the point of successfully submitting them to accredited national journals Sinta 2 to Sinta 5. Implementing training activities using the suitable training model can have a positive impact on teachers so that it can comprehensively improve teacher skills and support the continuous professional development of physics teachers.

Abstract

Desa Pelabuhan Dalam, Kecamatan Pemulutan, Kabupaten Ogan Ilir, menghadapi tantangan dalam sektor pertanian, terutama akibat keterbatasan sumber daya air selama musim kemarau dan tingginya biaya operasional irigasi berbahan bakar fosil. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan sistem irigasi tetes berbasis energi surya guna meningkatkan efisiensi penggunaan air dan menurunkan biaya operasional petani. Metode yang digunakan melibatkan survei lokasi, perancangan sistem, instalasi teknologi, serta sosialisasi dan pendampingan kepada petani. Sistem irigasi ini menggabungkan teknologi panel surya untuk mengoperasikan pompa air dan sistem irigasi tetes untuk pengairan tanaman secara efisien. Pelatihan teknis dan pendampingan terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman dan kemandirian petani terhadap teknologi ini. Keberhasilan program ini juga didukung oleh potensi sinar matahari yang tinggi di wilayah tersebut, menjadikan energi surya sebagai sumber daya terbarukan yang andal. Kegiatan ini menyimpulkan bahwa irigasi tetes berbasis energi surya tidak hanya meningkatkan efisiensi pertanian tetapi juga mendukung keberlanjutan lingkungan, sekaligus memberikan dampak positif pada pengelolaan sumber daya lokal di Desa Pelabuhan Dalam.

Abstract

The background of this research is the existence of globalization which makes education very important for all people. One way to significantly expand access to education is through distance learning (PJJ). PJJ can provide comfort for students to study independently anywhere and anytime. The implementation of PJJ has been widely carried out using LMS (Learning Management System). The purpose of this research is to produce a distance learning design based on e-learning on valid and practical temperature and heat material. This research uses mix method research with ADDIE development model. There are two subjects in this study, namely learning design in google classroom and students of class XI MIPA 1 SMA Negeri 15 Palembang, totaling 36 students. Instruments in this study were validation and practicality sheets and interviews. The results of the media and material validation questionnaire analysis as well as the media practicality questionnaire in the study obtained an average media validation score of 3.67 or 91.75%, the average material validation score obtained 3.31 or 82.75% and practicality questionnaire analysis got 3.13 or 78.07% , this shows that these media and materials are feasible and practical to use.

Abstract

Creative thinking is one of the 21st-century skills that every individual should possess. These skills facilitate the individual in realizing the imagination, providing an opportunity to think and express ideas. So knowing the profile of creative thinking skills is considered very important. This study aims to analyze creative thinking skills in learning activities teaching physics subjects on the topic of temperature and heat. This type of research is quantitative descriptive research with test methods. Class XI students of one of the public high schools in Central Bangka became the population in this study. The sample in this study was 64 students who were selected by purposive sampling. Data were collected using Creative Thinking Skills Physics SMA (PhysCreTHOTS). The results showed students' creative thinking skills on temperature and heat material were at a percentage of 54.40% with sufficient categories. And there are no students who are in the category of very good and very less. Then students' creative thinking skills based on creative thinking indicators are all classified as sufficient with a percentage of 57.81% (fluency), 45.57% (flexibility), 56.25% (originality), and 58.59% (elaboration). The results of this discovery can be used as empirical evidence and references that in the implementation of physics learning students' creative thinking skills still need to be improved.

Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) subjects in elementary schools by using the problem based learning (PBL) learning model. The research method used by researchers is Classroom Action Research (PTK) which is carried out in two cycles. Each cycle includes the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects consisted of 30 students of class V.A at State Elementary School 34 Palembang. The results showed that the implementation of PBL improved students' learning outcomes, as seen from the gradual increase in students' average scores in each cycle: pre-cycle (61.3%), cycle I (64.4%), and cycle II (83.4%). This finding confirms that PBL is an effective learning model to improve learning outcomes in IPAS subjects at the primary school level.

Abstract

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, online learning has become commonplace, but the effectiveness of online learning has never been evaluated; therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the effectiveness of online learning. This descriptive study aims to describe the effectiveness of online learning for lecturers and students of the Biology Education Study Program, FKIP Unsri, with a sample of 140 students and 16 lecturers in the odd semester. The study results show that online learning from the aspects of support, facilities and infrastructure, stakeholders, learning processes and student achievement indexes is included in the effective category. The platforms that are often used by students and lecturers besides Unsri e-learning are Google Classroom and several supporting platforms such as Zoom Cloud Meeting and WhatsApp. Applications and platforms, and online-based learning can still be used even though the pandemic has ended, because the online-based learning process is still better when combined with offline learning, which can facilitate direct interaction between students and teachers.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan motivasi belajar peserta didik SDN 34 Palembang melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Problem-Based Learning (PBL). Metode yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK), yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, masing-masing meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 30 peserta didik kelas V SDN 34 Palembang. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket motivasi belajar dan observasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata skor motivasi belajar meningkat dari 45,45% pada pra-siklus menjadi 77,48% pada siklus I, dengan kategori "Sedang" (N-Gain 0,59). Pada siklus II, rata-rata skor meningkat menjadi 96,65%, dengan kategori "Tinggi" (N-Gain 0,85), dan 100% peserta didik berada pada kategori "Sangat Baik". Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model PBL efektif dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar peserta didik. Adapun implikasi dari penelitian ini adalah perlunya integrasi metode PBL dalam pembelajaran untuk menciptakan pengalaman belajar yang interaktif, relevan, dan mampu meningkatkan motivasi peserta didik secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

This research is classified as qualitative descriptive research. This study aims to assess the need for the use of E-Modules as a tool in high school physics subjects. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach. The research survey questionnaire as an instrument. The questionnaire was distributed through a google form link, which was then filled in online by 1st and 3rd semester students who had studied physics subjects especially the subject of alternating current electricity. This research focuses on high school students class XII. The research involved 54 student respondents. The results showed that all respondents or 100% of students stated that they really need STEM-based learning to be used as a learning resource. Based on this research, there is a need for a learning E-Module as a learning media. This preliminary research will be developed into further research to create a STEM-based learning E-Module to train creative thinking skills on direct current electricity material

Abstract

LRT (Light Rail Transit) Palembang merupakan sistem transportasi rel ringan pertama di Indonesia yang dibangun untuk meningkatkan efisiensi mobilitas masyarakat serta mengurangi kemacetan dan polusi udara. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meninjau konsep fisika yang mendasari prinsip kerja LRT Palembang serta menganalisis penerapannya dalam meningkatkan efisiensi dan keberlanjutan operasional. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan analitis, meliputi observasi langsung, wawancara, dan studi literatur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa prinsip kerja LRT Palembang didasarkan pada berbagai konsep fisika, seperti induksi elektromagnetik pada motor listrik dan sistem pengereman regeneratif, transformasi energi kinetik dan potensial, serta penerapan gaya sentripetal pada lintasan menikung. Penerapan konsep-konsep ini berperan penting dalam mengoptimalkan performa, meningkatkan efisiensi energi, dan mengurangi dampak lingkungan. Dengan memahami konsep fisika dalam sistem transportasi ini, dapat dikembangkan inovasi yang lebih baik untuk meningkatkan keberlanjutan dan kenyamanan transportasi massal di masa depan.
