Abstract

Background: Research data from Harapan and Doa Hospital in 2019 showed that the remaining vegetable protein increased to 27.61% and vegetables 56%. This rate still exceeds the minimum hospital service rate for food waste, which is ≤ 20%. Purpose of the study was to examine external factors that affect the remaining plant and vegetablefood in the diet of ordinary and soft foods as well as an overview of external factors at Harapan and Doa Hospital, Bengkulu City. Method: Cross sectional design with the type of analytic survey research used in this study with a sample of 34 respondents. Results: In the remaining vegetable side dishes, timeliness of feeding with a p-value of 0.648, food taste (0.182) and the attitude of the serving staff (0.487) which means that H0 failed to be rejected (> 0.05). For leftover vegetable food, the timeliness of feeding with a p-value of 0.647, the atmosphere of the caring environment (0.541) and the attitude of the serving staff (1.000) which means that H0 failed to be rejected (> 0.05). Conclusion: There is a relationship between the appearance of food and the consumption of food from the outsidewith vegetable and vegetable side dishes.es.

Abstract

The nutritional status of pre-school shildren is a measure of success in fulfilling nutrition in children which includes height and weight. Feeding parenting style is strongly influenced by the role of parents in regulating children’s eating patterns. Snacking habits are consumption of food or drink between main meals, and sleep duration isvery important for life because sleep has a close relationship with human health an quality of life. Snacks and sleep duration with the nutritional status of pre-school children, the population in this study were all children at Permata Bunda PAUD Bengkulu City and the sample used was 113 children. The analysis used the chi-square test. The result of the Chi Square test showed that there was no relationship between Feeding Parenting Pattern (p=0.76), Snacking Habits (p=0.62) and Sleep Duration (p=0.49) with the nutritional status of pre-school at Permata Bunda PAUD, Bengkulu City.

Abstract

The natural wealth of coastal areas is not accompanied by the welfare of the people who occupy a lower economic stratum than other land communities, including in fulfilling nutrition. The study aims to analyze the influence of food security and social, health, environmental and household food security factors on the incidence of stunting in children aged 12-59 months in coastal households in Bengkulu Province. The research methodology used a mixed approach, between quantitative and qualitative. Data analysis used Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The study results showed that the policy aspect significantly affected food security (β=0.085; t=1.979; and p-value < 0.05) but is non-significant on stunting. There was a significant positive effect of health on food security with a value of β=0.237, value t = 7.157, and p-value <0.05. Health had no significant effect on stunting with a value of β=-0.040, value t = 0.963, and p-value > 0.05. Environmental aspects had a substantial adverse impact on food security (β=-0.492; t=12.846; and p-value <0.05) and a significant positive effect on stunting (β=0.155; t=2.781; and p-value < 0.05). The social aspect had a non-significant relationship with both food security and stunting. Food security was significantly related to stunting (β=0.441; t=7.971; and p-value <0.05). The research conclusion is that food security had a significant favorable association with stunting.

Abstract

Background: Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) is a respiratory disease caused by corona virus. Smokers are the most vulnerable group form Covid-1. Dirty hands can spread disease by providing entry to pathogens, bacteria, or viruses. Handwashing could be effective and efficient prevention to prevent covid-19 infection.Objective: To determine the relationship between gender and smoking habits, handwashing and nutritional behavior among respondents.Methods: A descriptive-analytic study with a cross-sectional design. Respondents were 966 people who lived in Bengkulu Province. Data collection was carried out by online questionnaire which were distributed through WhatsApp media. Data analysis used the chi-square test.Results: There were significant relationship between gender and smoking habits (p = 0.003), gender and handwashing (p = 0.000), gender and nutritional behavior related with fresh food consumptions (p = 0.026). There were no relationship between gender and nutritional behavior related to preserved/instant foods consumption (p = 0.463), nutritional behavior and fruit-vegetable consumption habits (p = 0.090).Conclusion: There is a relationship between gender and smoking and handwashing habits.

Abstract

Applying a clean and healthy lifestyle is one of the measures to prevent the massive transmission of COVID-19. This study aimed to determine the application of a clean and healthy lifestyle and social-physical distancing carried out by Indonesian students during the new normal of COVID-19. This research was conducted in June 2020 with a cross-sectional study approach, with the number of respondents being 5,924 students in Indonesia. The technique of filling out the questionnaire was done online by Google Forms. Furthermore, respondents would be asked to fill in the available consent letter and answer questions. Based on the results, most respondents were female students with majors in health (3,982 respondents) from undergraduate study programs (2,529 respondents). The place of residence during the pandemic was staying home with the family (2,715 respondents). A clean and healthy lifestyle involves several variables. Those were included touching eyes, nose, and mouth; using hand sanitizer; keeping a mask; opening the door with elbows; touching public equipment; shaking hands; touching with family; washing hands with soap; cleaning; changing clothes; washing masks; personal equipment; and washing hands directly after arrival had a significant relationship, with p<0.005, and p<0.002 for soaking clothes was also significantly related. Therefore, the clean and healthy lifestyle conducted by respondents could be undergone improvement. Also, respondents did not follow the health protocols, which might trigger COVID-19 transmission.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Hipertensi adalah suatu keadaan terjadinya peningkatan tekanan darah diastolik maupun sistolik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalis hubungan konsumsi protein, lemak jenuh dan lemak tak jenuh dengan kejadian hipertensi pada wanita menopause di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Sukamerindu Kota Bengkulu. Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan observasional analitik dengan desain cross sectional dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 67 responden yang diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan asupan protein, lemak jenuh dan lemak tak jenuh dilakukan dengan metode wawancara menggunakan Food Frequency Questionaire (FFQ) semi kuantitatif. Analisis bivariat menggunakan uji chi square. Hasil: Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa wanita menopause yang mengalami hipertensi sebanyak 52,2% dengan konsumsi protein tidak baik 62,7 %, konsumsi lemak jenuh (SFA) tidak baik sebanyak 80,6% sedangkan pada konsumsi lemak tak jenuh tunggal (MUFA) sebanyak 94% dan konsumsi lemak tak jenuh tak jenuh ganda (PUFA) sebanyak 50,7%. Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara konsumsi protein dan lemak jenuh (SFA) dengan kejadian hipertensi sedangkan konsumsi lemak tak jenuh (MUFA,PUFA) tidak berhubungan dengan kejadian hipertensi. Kesimpulan: Kejadian hipertensi pada wanita menopause dipengaruhi oleh konsumsi protein dan lemak jenuh (SFA), karena itu bagi wanita menopause diharapkan dapat meningkatkan asupan lemak tak jenuh (MUFA,PUFA).

Abstract

Tujuan kegiatan PKM ini untuk membina ibu balita tentang penerapan isi piringku dan pengukuran Status Gizi pertumbuhan kembang anak diwilayah Padang Serai kota bengkulu, yang terletak di kecamatan kampung melayu kota Bengkulu. Kegiatan ini diselenggarakan pada minggu terakhir bulan Agustus-Oktober tahun 2023 yang berlokasi dilokasi puskesmas padang serai. Kegiatan ini diterapkan dengan metode pendidikan, pelatihan dan pendampingan kepada ibu balita dan kader. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang dihadiri oleh 60 peserta yang terdiri dari ibu kader dan ibu balita berjalan dengan lancar. Media yang digunakan adalah ppt dan leaflet. Penyuluhan dilakukan dengan metode ceramah dan tanya jawab. Dengan diperkenalkan konsep Isi Piringku mendorong masyarakat untuk makan dengan gizi seimbang, tetapi konsep gizi seimbang dipahami dan dimengerti dengan baik oleh masyarakat. Kegiatan ini berhasil dengan baik dengan ada peningkatan nilai pengetahuan sebelum dan sesudah edukasi, sikap dan tindakan Ibu balita dalam praktik pemberian makan pada anak di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Padang Serai Kota Bengkulu.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Latar Belakang : Diabetes melitus adalah sekelompokpenyakit metabolik yang ditandai dengan hiperglikemiaakibat kelainan sekresi insulin, kerja insulin, atau kedua-duanya Tujuan : Untuk mengetahui gambaran kepatuhandiet, konsumsi serat dan magnesium pada penderitadiabetes melitus tipe 2 di puskesmas pasar ikan kotaBengkulu tahun 2024. Metode : Penelitian ini merupakanpenelitian deskriptif yaitu penelitian yang bertujuanmemaparkan atau mendeskripsikan peristiwa peristiwayang terjadi pada masa kini. Populasi dalam penelitian iniadalah penderita diabetes tipe 2 dipuskesmas pasar ikan kota bengkulu dengan sampel 84 orang yang diambilsecara Random Sampling. Pengumpulan data kepatuhandiet menggunakan metode kuesioner, untuk konsumsiserat dan magnesium dengan metode Form semi quantitive food questionnaire (SQ-FFQ). Hasil :Berdasarkan hasil analisa bahwa terdapat Sebagian responden penderita diabetes melitus tidak patuhterhadap kepatuhan diet 51 orang (60,7%), Sebagian responden memiliki konsumsi serat kurang 53 orang (63,1%), dan Sebagian responden memiliki konsumsimagnesium kurang 42 kurang (50,0%). Kesimpulan :Hasil Penelitian penderita diabetes melitus Sebagian tidakpatuh terhadap kepatuhan diet, Sebagian respondenkurang konsumsi serat dan Sebagian dari respondenkurang konsumsi magnesium. Kata Kunci : Kepatuhan Diet, Konsumsi serat, KonsumsiMagnesium, Diabetes Melitus.

Abstract

Stunting is caused by low nutritional intake over a long period of time and/or frequently suffering from infectious diseases. The approach that can be taken is community empowerment. Efforts to implement DAHSAT to prevent stunting are carried out by increasing the knowledge of mothers of toddlers regarding toddler food intake by assisting the implementation of the DAHSAT kitchen for toddler families in Seluma Regency. The targets of this community service activity are BKKBN Partners, mothers of babies/toddlers, the Seluma Health Office. The implementation method uses the lecture method with presentation techniques for accompanying material on the application of the DAHSAT kitchen, followed by demonstrations and discussions, Focus Group Discussions (FGD), Observations, while the problem of the ability to develop the knowledge of mothers of toddlers is resolved by providing training. This activity is packaged in the form of a workshop. There is an increase in the knowledge and skills of mothers of babies/toddlers in carrying out the practice of measuring weight and TB (anthropometry) in improving health and preventing stunting during toddler posyandu activities in Seluma Regency Village. BKKBN Seluma Regency, Poltekkes Kemenkes Bengkulu, Kungkai Baru Village and Puskesmas Air Periukkan continue to collaborate with partners to improve the management of Healthy Kitchens so that they are more active and move towards accelerating stunting reduction as evidence of the pentahelix collaboration at the Air Periukkan regional level, Seluma Regency.

Abstract

Background: Hypertension has the nickname the Silent Killer because it is deadly but is not accompanied by any previous symptoms. There are two risk factors for hypertension, namely risk factors that can be changed, namely sleep patterns, high sodium consumption, smoking, physical activity, stress, alcohol consumption and coffee consumption. Meanwhile, risk factors cannot be changed, namely age, gender, occupation, family history or heredity. Bengkulu Province Health Profile data for hypertension sufferers in 2018 reached 71,675 people. Meanwhile, data from the Bengkulu City Health Service from 20 community health centers, the fish market health center, is the number two incident of hypertension in men in 2019, reaching 180 cases (17.4%).Objective: This study aims to determine the description of sodium consumption patterns, sleep patterns, smoking habits and the incidence of hypertension in adult men in the Coastal Coastal Work Area of ​​the Bengkulu City Fish Market Health Center. Method : Cross sectional design, the variables studied were sodium consumption patterns, sleep patterns, smoking habits and the incidence of hypertension. The total sample of 46 respondents was taken using simple random sampling technique. Results: The results showed that adult men consumed more than 100.0% sodium category. Some respondents, 21.7%, experienced poor sleep patterns, 23 respondents, 50.0%, almost all were moderate smokers, and almost all 32.6% did not smoke. 43.5% had grade 1 hypertension and 30.4% had pre-hypertension. Conclusion : The incidence of hypertension in the Coastal Coast category is more than 100%.
