Abstract

Practical guide books need to be prepared to ensure a good practicum activity. The sample used in the practicum should also be chosen carefully so as not to lead to misconception in students. This study aims to develop and test the feasibility of a practical guide for testing nutrients in goat's milk in Food Substances for class XI SMA. This type of research is research and development (R&D) that uses the first 3 stages of the 4D model (define, design, develop, and disseminate). The research instrument used was a validation sheet in the form of a questionnaire. There are 5 product validators consisting of 2 lecturers from the Biology Education Study Program, FKIP Tanjungpura University and 3 biology teachers from 3 high schools in Pontianak City. The type of validation used is content validity which contains 3 aspects, namely aspects of format, content, and language. The results showed that the development of a practicum guide for testing nutrients in goat's milk was successfully carried out and obtained a validity value of CVR=1. Thus, the practicum guide is valid in content and deserves to be tested both on a limited and broad basis to ensure the suitability of the development design with the needs’ analysis. The practical guide for testing nutrients in goat's milk is also expected to be able to provide solutions to the misconceptions found in the Food Substances related to the selection of more effective and efficient practicum materials.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a flash flipbook as learning media followed by testing its validity and reliability. The development model used is the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) which is focused on the first 3 stages, namely Analyze, Design, and Development. Validation activities include instrument validation by 2 validators using the Guttman scale and media validation by 5 validators with 4 rating scales based on the Likert scale. Validation is done by filling out a closed questionnaire. Flash flipbook media validation assesses 3 aspects, namely aspects of format, content, and language. Analysis of the results of the flash flipbook validation using the Aiken's V method and the reliability test using the ICC (Intraclass Correlation Coefficient). This study shows that the validation results with the Aiken standard of 0.87 with 1 improvement and the ICC reliability results are 0.985 in the very good category. The addition of the literatures with the latest issue can increase the feasibility of this media. This flash flipbook can provide good visualization for students so as to provide variety in learning activities.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan video pembelajaran mendukung peserta didik untuk mengaplikasikan materi yang lebih modern dan faktual, serta lebih populer terutama bagi anak-anak dibandingkan dengan membaca buku. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan video sebagai media pembelajaran Submateri Kelainan dan Penyakit yang Berhubungan dengan Sistem Ekskresi Manusia. Metode penelitian menggunakan tiga dari empat tahap dalam model 4D (define, design, develop, dan disseminate) dari Thiagarajan et al. Validasi media dilakukan oleh 5 orang yang terdiri dari aspek format, isi, bahasa, dan keefektifan dengan 15 kriteria. Pemilihan validator dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa lembar uji kelayakan instrumen validasi media video pembelajaran dan lembar validasi video pembelajaran. Hasil pengembangan diperoleh media video pembelajaran pada Submateri Kelainan dan Penyakit yang Berhubungan dengan Sistem Ekskresi yang diperkaya dengan hasil pengujian ekstrak tumbuhan sebagai hepatoprotektor. Media yang dikembangkan memperoleh nilai CVR dan CVI sebesar 1 atau memenuhi nilai minimum Lawshe (0,99) sehingga dikategorikan valid dan layak untuk diuji coba baik terbatas maupun luas sebagai media pembelajaran Submateri Kelainan dan Penyakit yang Berhubungan dengan Sistem Ekskresi Manusia.

Abstract

Students' knowledge of the diversity of sharks and rays needs to be known as a conservation effort. One of the fishing locations for sharks and rays (Subclass Elasmobranchii) in West Kalimantan, especially Pontianak, is the TPI Sungai Kakap. This study aims to determine the category of knowledge of SUPM Negeri Pontianak students about the diversity of sharks and rays in Indonesia and West Kalimantan based on data from the catch of sharks and rays (Subclass Elasmobranchii) at TPI Sungai Kakap in October 2021. This study used a survey method by conducting inventory and identification of sharks and rays (Subclass Elasmobranchii) caught by fishermen in the Sungai Kakap TPI. Then the research instrument was made in the form of a questionnaire from the results of the identification carried out. The results of the identification of sharks and rays (Subclass Elasmobranchii) obtained were 9 species, 4 families and 340 individuals. The questionnaire consists of 17 questions with 2 components, namely characteristics and diversity of species and aspects of conservation. The questionnaire made was validated and tested first. The questionnaire survey was conducted on 30 students of class XI SUPM Negeri Pontianak. The knowledge of the SUPM Negeri Pontianak students is at a value of 34 which has a medium category, meaning that their knowledge must be improved again.

Abstract

The use of student’s worksheets as teaching materials and supporting learning activities is still not evenly distributed. The components are sometimes incomplete. This study aims to describe the development and determine the feasibility of guided inquiry-based worksheets as teaching materials for the endocrine system sub material for second-grade of high schools. This study used a 4D development model limited to three defining, designing, and developing stages. The student’s worksheets were designed based on the problems obtained from interviews with biology teachers in three different schools. At the development stage, the worksheets were validated by five validators consisting of two lecturers and three biology teachers in Pontianak. The validation assessment contained four aspects: the feasibility of the content/material, language, presentation, and graphics with 19 criteria. The student’s worksheet was successfully developed with enrichment in the form of discourse analysis activities related to diabetes and the process of lowering blood sugar levels by plant extracts with guided inquiry stages. The feasibility analysis results of the guided inquiry-based student’s worksheet obtained CVR and CVI values of 1 each so that product can be declared ready for the limited and extensive trial phase. However, the significance of the enrichment topics in this student’s worksheet still needs to be re-examined directly in the teaching and learning process in the Endocrine System Sub material for second grade of high school in both small and large scales groups.

Abstract

Each organism has a different role as an integral part of an ecosystem. Nevertheless, this concept tends to be random and inaccurate in building a complete understanding of ecosystem interaction pattern. This research aims to develop learning video on ecosytem interaction, specifically on functional feeding group of macrobenthos. The feasibility of video as a learning medium was seen from five aspects of simplicity, audio, integration, balance, and effectiveness. The development of learning video is divided into two stages of the preliminary and the formative evaluation stage. In the preliminary stage, a field survey was conducted in the examples of interaction forms presented in 3 commonly used Biology textbooks. The formative evaluation stage was conducted to test the effectiveness of the learning product through self-evaluation and expert review. 5 validators of 2 lecturers and 3 high school biology teachers were assign. Data analysis was done with Lawshe method. An ICC (Interclass Correlation Coefficient) reliability test was carried out to determine the reliability of the validation instrument. The results of the reliability test using the ICC yielded an ICC value of 0.758 which puts it in the excellent category. All criteria from the aspects of the learning video media validation sheet are declared valid with CVR and CVI values ​​of 1. Therefore, this learning video can be considered valid to be tested in limited trials.

Abstract

This study analyzes macrozoobenthos diversity and functional feeding group in Berembang River, Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan. The obtained macrozoobenthos were identified to the genus level, and their functional feeding group was determined through a literature study. Data on diversity, evenness, and dominance were analyzed descriptively. Diversity (H') and Evenness (E) of macrozoobenthos in Berembang River were low (H'=0.73 and E=0.15) while Dominance (C) was high (C=0.81) as evidenced by a large number of genera Corbicula and Gammarus. Macrozoobenthos functional feeding groups found at both stations can be divided into six categories, namely shredders, gathering collectors, deposit feeders, sub-surface deposit feeders, filtering collectors, and scrapers.

Abstract

Saat ini jumlah wirausaha di Indonesia baru mencapai 3,3% populasi dan masih tertinggal dari beberapa negara. Mengingat rendahnya tingkat wirausaha di Indonesia dan kemudahan teknologi pada zaman ini seharusnya mengembangkan ide dan inovasi baru bukanlah hal sulit bagi kalangan muda khususnya mahasiswa. Dengan adanya teknologi pada zaman sekarang mahasiswa diharapkan mampu membangun jiwa kewirausahaan. Salah satu usaha yang dapat dilakukan untuk melahirkan wirausaha khususnya dari kalangan mahasiswa adalah dengan mendorong lembaga pendidikan untuk memasukkan pendidikan kewirausahaan dalam kurikulum dan melakukan usaha selain perkuliahan misalnya dengan webinar. Webinar kewirausahaan dengan tema “Show Up Your Mind to Be a Success Entrepreneur” dilakukan dengan tujuan agar dapat menambah minat, motivasi, dan kemampuan mahasiswa dalam berwirausaha. Metode yang dilakukan dalam webinar ini antara lain adalah sosialisasi, penyampaian materi, dan tanya jawab serta diskusi. Kegiatan webinar di fokuskan bagi alumni dan mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi FKIP Universitas Tanjungpura. Secara umum, kegiatan webinar dikategorikan sukses dan berjalan dengan baik dibuktikan dengan jumlah peserta yang hadir dan antusias peserta webinar pada saat sesi disukusi dan tanya jawab.

Abstract

Kajian tentang miskonsepsi yang ditemukan pada buku ajar pernah dilaporkan dalam berbagai penelitian. Ajang pertemuan ilmiah yang diikuti oleh guru dan calon guru bisa mendukung peningkatan kompetensi keilmuan sehingga bisa memperkuat pengetahuan yang diperlukan untuk menyaring buku ajar yang baik untuk digunakan dalam pembelajarannya. Kegiatan pengabdian ini menggunakan bentuk bedah buku pada materi genetika dalam tiga buku Biologi untuk siswa di kelas XII SMA yang banyak digunakan di Kota Pontianak menurut hasil survei di 27 SMA pada semester gazal TA 2021/2022.  Aspek yang dikaji dari ketiga buku ajar meliputi 1) kesesuaian dengan kurikulum dan kompetensi dasar, 2) urutan/ sistematika dalam memahami konsep, 3) konten/ kebenaran konsep, 4) tata bahasa dan penulisan, 5) tampilan dan kemenarikan, dan 6) tuntutan dalam soal latihan. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 34 peserta yang terdiri atas 6 orang dosen, 16 guru, 11 mahasiswa, dan 1 umum. Pemaparan materi berjalan dengan lancar oleh keempat narasumber. Peserta menilai bahwa kegiatan ini penting untuk menggali pengetahuan yang lebih dalam dan lebih luas dalam memahami konsep pada materi genetika yang sebenarnya.

Abstract

Folklore is a reflection of the life of the old community, whether in the form of fairy tales, myths, sages, or legends. In this research, the objects in the folklore of Sambas people were packaged in a worksheet as teaching materials based on science process skills. This study aimed to describe the development of a worksheet as teaching material, the results of its validation, and student questionnaire response tests on the science process skill-based living classification system sub material for high school students in class X. This type of research is descriptive of the research and development methods of the ADDIE model. The development stages used include analysis, design, development, and implementation. The research instruments used were interview sheets, validation sheets, and student response questionnaire sheets. The development of student worksheets based on science process skills-based living classification system sub material with folklore enrichment has been successfully carried out. However, the validation results are still not declared valid (CVI = 0.93), especially in conformity with basic competency, competence achievement indicators, and learning objectives, as well as providing motivation. After being revised, students responded to the results of the student worksheet by 89.06% or were in the very high category.
